Burnley manager Scott Parker, speaking to BBC MOTD: "For 70-odd minutes we were right in it and we caused some problems. We executed the gameplan and were encouraged for large parts.

"They scored two quick goals and the back end of the game runs away from us a bit with some mistakes.

"There are fine margins and we knew today we'd need to ride our luck at times. For the first 60-70 minutes we were brave and courageous - not just standing up to things but also with the ball.

"I'm massively confident [in this team]. We've had a tough start and I know there are large parts of our game from these tough fixtures that will stand us in good stead."

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we dropped our rhythm for 15 or 20 minutes but otherwise were really good. The second half was completely different and I'm happy we scored five goals.

"Since we played Manchester United our spirit is much better. We defend as a group and the solidarity is extraordinary.

"I trust all my players and the games we have played with the squad are so consistent. When the cup games come in then we will need to play other people."

On Kyle Walker: "We had many good moments together. He played a very good game - it's not easy to deal with Jeremy [Doku] but he did a good job."

Things are getting desperate for Wolves after five straight defeats in the league, but it is hard to make a case for them getting anything here.

Tottenham showed great resilience to come back late on to rescue a point at Brighton last week. They have got that side to them now where you feel they can get something from games, even when things go wrong for them.

I was at their Champions League win over Villarreal when they huffed and puffed but still got the job done. This game might not be entirely straightforward for them either, but I am expecting the same outcome.

It's a brilliant away performance. It's taken Nottingham Forest 45 minutes to get going, but you have to praise Sunderland.

The manager set them up really well. 4-4-2 out of possession, really good organisation and good distances from the back line, the middle and the front.

They were really compact and caused Forest all sorts of problems on the break.

As an away performance, that was top, top level.

They were ruthless in their defending with Ballard, and Roefs was magnificent in goal.

Sunderland had to defend with their back to the walls for large parts of that game - goalkeeper Robin Roefs made six saves, while defender Omar Alderete made nine clearances.

Nottingham Forest played quite well in parts, particularly in the final 30 minutes, but just could not find a way through.

Forest fans once again direct their boos to the officials as they head off the pitch. A frustrating evening for the home supporters.

Meanwhile, the Sunderland fans are savouring every moment of this first away win in the Premier League in eight years. A long time coming

Sunderland almost snatch a second!

Omar Alderete meets a header at the back post, Chris Wood intercepts but then a rebound flies over the bar from close range.

That is Chris Wood's final action of the night, as he is replaced by Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Sunderland last won an away match in the Premier League in May 2017, when they won in Hull.

They're a few minutes away from ending that drought.
