    Inches away.

Sub Karamoko Dembele does brilliantly on the right of the Saints box and stretches to whip in a wicked low cross which somehow evades the sliding Rumarn Burrell at the far post.

Shades of Gascoigne's agonising miss from Shearer's volleyed cross against Germany in Euro 96 for those of a certain vintage.

End-to-end stuff at Fratton Park and this is another huge save from Josef Bursik.

Josh Windass' quick free-kick is dummied by Liberato Cacace for Lewis O'Brien to race through on goal, but despite sitting the keeper down he can't lift the ball over him and Bursik blocks brillianly.

    Rumarn Burrell (73 mins)

Gavin Bazunu won't want to watch this one back...

The keeper was recalled in place of Alex McCarthy for this game but he wanders off his line towards a long diagonal sent in from deep on the R's left flank by Jonathan Varane.

Rumarn Burrell nips in to control the ball in the air in front of the keeper with his touch taking him beyond Bazunu to poke the ball into the unguarded net.

    Game on.

Saints are marching... and it's another Bonfire Night scorcher!

Leo Scienza is allowed to drive from the halfway line on the left, through the R's half, without a challenge as the defenders show him too much respect.

He eventually opens up his hips 20 yards from goal and bends a powerful curling shot to the left of the diving Paul Nardi and inside the post.

    Glorious stuff.

Easy, this management lark, eh Tonda Eckert?

Josh Murphy is having a purple patch here.

    All Pompey at present.
