Bit of gallows humour in our family chat. All Norwich fans, with one named Barry (hi grandad) and me with the same for a middle name. I’m (pretty) sure we’ll come back to win this!

    Stevie, Norwich

Great for Wednesday to take the lead. They deserve it! (from a Blade)

    Billy, Sheffield

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:08 GMT 5 November

    QPR 0-0 Southampton

Ilias Chair's free-kick into the Saints box is knocked down to Rumarn Burrell in acres of space on the right of the box but he can't get a first-time shot away and the bounce takes him wide of goal, eventually lashing a low ball across Gavin Bazunu's goal which is scrambled away at the far post.

More of the same for Saints, thus far.

Sheffield Wednesday do not look like a side short on confidence, they are really taking the game to Norwich.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:05 GMT 5 November

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Norwich

Shane Duffy is late, very late with a tackle and referee Ed Duckworth brandishes a card the same colour as the Norwich defender's shirt.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:05 GMT 5 November

    Portsmouth 0-0 Wrexham

Lively start from Pompey, perhaps with a point to prove after Saturday.

Colby Bishop links up nicely with Josh Murphy on the left but the winger's angled effort is saved by Arthur Okonkwo at his near post.

Norwich head coach Liam Manning at HillsboroughImage source, PA Media

If Norwich don’t WIN, then Manning will be sacked tonight. There is too much talent in this Norwich City squad for us to be 23rd.

    Thomas, Surrey (Norwich supporter)

The ownership need to take charge at Norwich and clear out the useless board. Players and Manning aren't helping themselves and yet again we are looking at a poor result already.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Wrexham

We are up to our full complement of games at last...

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:01 GMT 5 November

    QPR 0-0 Southampton

Another Ilias Chair corner, another chance, as Liam Morrison glances a diving header wide of target well beyond the far post.

    Pressure building from the R's.

  9. Postpublished at 20:01 GMT 5 November

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Norwich

Yan Valery gets to the byeline and has a cross blocked by Shane Duffy for a corner.

Norwich deal with the set-piece but they are all over the place at the back.

The home fans can see a first home win of the season is a real possibility here.

In saying that Jovon Makama shows great persistence when cutting in from the right but his shot is blocked.

  10. CLOSE!published at 19:59 GMT 5 November

    QPR 0-0 Southampton

QPR so close to an opener as a deep corner from Ilias Chair is nodded down by Jimmy Dunne and then laid off by Amadou Mbengue for Nicolas Madsen to fire in a low left-footed shot from near the penalty spot which is expertly blocked on the line by Flynn Downes, though Gavin Bazunu might have got a touch in there too.

Who stays the course? Too hard to call, someone usually starts with a bang then falls apart. Someone else is always useless until January then romps up the table. Welcome to Championship footy!

  12. Seven changes for Pompey; None for Wrexhampublished at 19:57 GMT 5 November

    Portsmouth v Wrexham (20:00 GMT)

    Pompey XIImage source, Opta

Perhaps unsurprisingly John Mousinho has made SEVEN changes to the Pompey side thrashed 4-0 at Birmingham on Saturday.

Keeper Josef Bursik, Regan Poole, Ibane Bowat and Andre Dozzell are the only ones to keep their place with Conor Ogilvie back from illness and skipper Colby Bishop and Conor Chaplin among those recalled.

In a surprise to absolutely nobody, after an extra day’s rest and off the back of a 3-2 win over league leaders Coventry, Phil Parkinson has named an unchanged Wrexham XI.

    Preston 1-0 Swansea

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

What a belter, he put his boot through it and nearly ripped the net out!

    Blimey!

Right into the top left-hand corner.

It is an absolute stunner, you can see his eyes lighting up from a mile out.

A big moment for Thierry Small.

The former Charlton man finds the top corner from distance with an absolute screamer.

Preston fans will be watching that one for a while!

  15. Postpublished at 19:55 GMT 5 November

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Norwich

We're trying to draw our breath after that start.

Just going back to that early Josh Sargent chance, he may be their leading scorer with six goals in all competitions this season but he hasn't scored for nine games - since 30 August to be precise.

Barry Bannan has his third of the season for the home side and he lines up another shot which Vladan Kovacevic has to beat away.

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:54 GMT 5 November

    QPR 0-0 Southampton

    Saints are incensed.

Tom Fellows does well to whip in a cross from the right touchline, it's glanced on at the near post and bounces across goal where Ryan Manning is lurking at the back stick, though he's somehow unable to get the vital touch under immense pressure from his marker Paul Smyth.

James Bell turns his back on the Saints appeals for a penalty and on we go.

  17. 'Goal of the season contender from Barry Bannan'published at 19:52 GMT 5 November

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Norwich

    Andy Giddings
    BBC Radio Sheffield commentator

    Goodness me that was special.

Thirty yards out, the Scotsman took aim and like an Exocet missile, right into the top corner.

Goal of the season contender from Barry Bannan.

    That was terrific.

The 20,000-odd that are here will talk about that goal for a while.

    This is a lively start...

Home skipper Barry Bannan is allowed the freedom of Hillsborough to stride forward and lash the ball past Vladan Kovacevic.

What noise there is around the ground.

If Norwich don't win tonight then might I suggest they don't bother coming back. The owners and management need to give their heads a wobble. While not wishing to see managers sacked, previous incumbents at Carrow Road have been fired for a lot less then Liam Manning.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Norwich

Oh wow, what a chance and what a miss inside the first 60 seconds for Norwich.

Josh Sargent gets in front of Dominic Iorfa when receiving Jovon Makama's through ball.

The United States international only has Ethan Horvath in the home goal to beat but clips his effort wide - HUGE chance.

A shake of the head from boss Liam Manning.
