  1. Frokjaer finish the source of home fans' frustrationspublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 14 September

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Preston

    Andy Sixsmith
    Final Score

There was stunned silence around the Riverside at HT as the Boro fans queued for their pies.

A silence eventually punctured by one supporter whose words can’t be written down on a live text.

Frustrations understood - Middlesbrough had all the first half chances and all the possession - but they don’t have the lead after that sumptuous Frokjaer finish.

Game on for the second half!

  2. Postpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 14 September

    Swansea 1-0 Norwich

The Canaries begin the second-half on the charge as Jack Stacey puts in a threatening cross but Swansea defend well.

Surely, SURELY we will see more goals this half.

  3. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 1-1 Sunderlandpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 14 September

    Dan Ballard og (54 mins)

    Now then...

Sunderland have been pegged back. Morgan Whittaker's fierce half-volley is tipped onto the crossbar by Anthony Patterson and bounces down onto the line.

It goes into the back of the net, somehow, possibly off the unfortunate Dan Ballard who could not do anything about it.

Wayne Rooney won't mind, his side are level.

Sunderland need to win this one again.

  4. goal

GOAL - Blackburn 2-0 Bristol Citypublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 14 September

    Yuki Ohashi (55 mins)

The home side double their money!

It's four goals in seven appearances in English football for Japanese forward Yuki Ohashi.

He rifles into the top corner after being fed by Tyrhys Dolan.

Rovers look set to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:11 British Summer Time 14 September

    Watford 0-1 Coventry

Matty Pollock is denied an equaliser as his effort from Giorgi Chakvetadze's free-kick is saved at his far post by City keeper Oliver Dovin.

The goalmouth action continues at the Vic.

  6. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 14 September

    Sheff Wed 0-0 QPR

Not too many goals kicking about in the second tier today but this is the only one with no goals in it.

The home side are still on top as they look for their first goal since the opening day.

  7. Hornets need a second-half improvementpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 14 September

    Watford 0-1 Coventry

    Charlotte Richardson
    BBC Sport at Vicarage Road

It was an entertaining 45 minutes in the September sunshine, with the sides separated by Ellis Simms’ early opener.

Watford, who have started the season brightly, cheaply afforded the visitors a corner that was whipped in and touched home by Simms for his first goal in 13 matches.

The goal put Coventry in confident mood and they could - and maybe should - have more goals to their tally.

If Watford boss Tom Cleverly is going to preserve his unbeaten home record as boss, a big second half is required.

The hosts can’t afford a second half as slow as the first. Coventry’s change in system suits them and could be the key to their first victory on the road this season.

  8. Postpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 14 September

    Plymouth 0-1 Sunderland

    Jed Penberthy
    BBC Radio Devon commentator

35-yards out, that's not far away for Argyle!

It would have been an utter stunner if that had found its way into the back of the net.

    Unfortunately it remains 1-0.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:07 British Summer Time 14 September

    Plymouth 0-1 Sunderland

Adam Randall has drawn a flying fingertip save from Sunderland stopper Anthony Patterson with a fierce long-range strike as Plymouth try to get back on terms early in the second half.

Wayne Rooney's words still ringing in Argyle ears?

  10. More goals to come?published at 16:04 British Summer Time 14 September

    Swansea 1-0 Norwich

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea are halfway to their second league victory of the season, but it will be a surprise should there be no more goals in this game.

Norwich have looked a threat, particularly through striker Josh Sargent, while the likes of Goncalo Franco and Eom Ji-Sung have been particularly bright for the home side.

In truth, it is surprising that we have seen only one goal so far, given that both sides look menacing.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 14 September

45 minutes for wins to become losses and losses to become wins.

It's all up for grabs now.

Don't go anywhere, we are off...

  12. 'Plymouth will feel they are still in it'published at 16:01 British Summer Time 14 September

    HT: Plymouth 0-1 Sunderland

    Gary Bennett
Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

    Sunderland have closed down well.

Three or four occasions Jobe Bellingham has broken up play. I think he's been excellent in the middle of the park.

They need that second goal and Régis Le Bris will be stressing that Plymouth will feel like they are still in the game.

  13. 'At least six gilt-edged chances'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 14 September

    HT: Watford 0-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

How many chances have we had in this game? I've counted six gilt-edged chances in that first-half. Four for Coventry and two for Watford.

That's the first-half performance we've been yearning for from Coventry. But the biggest disappointment is that it's only 1-0.

  14. Rovers good value for lead despite O'Leary blunderpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 14 September

HT: Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Bristol City

    Sanny Rudravajhala
BBC Radio 5 Live at Ewood Park

Rovers have looked good value for their lead, despite the goal coming through calamitous circumstances if you’re a City fan.

Robins keeper Max O’Leary’s been put under pressure repeatedly by a harrying Blackburn front line but his loose pass for Lewis Travis’ opener was very poor.

The away fans behind the goal ended the half doing ironic cheers as their backline passed the ball between each other. Clearly, Liam Manning’s side like to build patiently, but perhaps a little too slowly for the travelling contingent.

Tyrhys Dolan popping up on the flanks has caused Bristol city issues and Yuki Ohashi is looking dangerous, if Rovers can show a bit more precision in the final third.

For Bristol City, they’ve not tested the fluorescent yellow Aynsley Pears in the Blackburn goal. It took 44 minutes for the home fans to boo ex-Burnley man Scott Twine and that’s a testament to how little he’s managed to have the ball in the final third.

Room for improvement for both sides but The Robins especially.

  15. League Two half-time headlinespublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 14 September

    #bbcefl

Barrow sit top of League Two as it stands and lead 2-1 at Grimsby who pulled one back in stoppage-time through Kieran Green.

They have leapfrogged top-three rivals Notts County who trail 2-1 at Bromley after early goals from Michael Cheek and Ben Thompson.

Ben Tollitt scored Morecambe’s first league goal of the season, but since then the Shrimps have had Luke Hendrie sent-off and then conceded an equaliser to Colchester's Owura Edwards.

Fellow strugglers Carlisle trail 2-1 at home to Fleetwood after Charlie Wyke halved the deficit.

And Olly Sanderson has drawn Bradford level at top-six rivals Walsall, while Port Vale lead Chesterfield through Ethan Chislett.

Elsewhere, we’re still looking for our first goal at Gillingham, Accrington and Salford.

  16. League One half-time headlinespublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 14 September

    #bbcefl

Steve Bruce’s reign at Blackpool couldn’t have started better as they lead 1-0 through CJ Hamilton, against Exeter. The 20th-minute volley lifts the Seasiders straight out of the relegation zone.

Stockport head into half-time with a 1-0 lead against Crawley courtesy of their top scorer Louie Barry. County are second, thanks to Wrexham’s superior goal difference.

LeytonOrient scored their third goal of the season as they lead 1-0 away to Reading. The strike from Charlie Kelman inside the half-hour could mark a change to their horrid start to the season.

Lincoln are ahead 1-0 against Peterborough at the break thanks to Ben House whose strike lifts the Imps up to third in League One.

Manchester United loanee Joe Hugill has scored twice to give Wigan a 2-0 lead against BristolRovers.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 14 September

    Sheff Wed 0-0 QPR

Nothing doing in this one so far.

The home side, who have lost their past three games without scoring, have had the better of it.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 14 September

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Preston

Well, well, well. Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom will be absolutely thrilled heading into the tunnel level.

Middlesbrough were by far the more dominant side but couldn't get anything past Preston outside of that Tommy Conway opening goal, despite applying tons of pressure.

Preston are rewarded for soaking it up with a surprise goal from Mads Frokjaer-Jensen in the 43rd minute - but they will need to come out with a new game plan if they want to take the win.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 14 September

    Swansea 1-0 Norwich

An error from Norwich defender Amankwah Forson is the only thing that separates these two on the scoreline but there's nothing between them on the rest of the pitch.

The Swans were close to a second after Liam Cullen's header is cleared off the line but, as is, the Canaries won't feel that the deficit is something they can't claw back. This is still anyones game.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 14 September

    Watford 0-1 Coventry

Ellis Simms' early header has Coventry a goal to the good at Vicarage Road after 45 minutes.

Both sides have spurned a host of chances to add to the scoring, but it's been a typically helter-skelter game of Championship football.

These next 15 minutes are going to drag.
