About a quarter of the way through this game and it is the away side who have done much of the early running.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 21 September

Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, who was on the receiving end of a bad tackle from Trai Hume earlier, is in the book himself now for clattering into Luke O'Nien.

    Norwich 1-0 Watford

  4. 'Watford can go longer'published at 12:51 British Summer Time 21 September

    Norwich 1-0 Watford

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder on BBC Three Counties Radio

I think you can go longer, we're trying to play out from the back early on which I can understand.

They press high I don't see why you cant spin a few in behind Norwich's back line.

  5. Postpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 21 September

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

The corner doesn't materialise into anything - though the R's do manage to stop a Millwall counter-attack.

QPR's Karamoko Dembele puts in a cross to an unmarked Lucas Anderson. The midfielder can't control it and it goes way above the net.

Could have been a real chance but it's gone completely to waste.

  6. Postpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 21 September

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

The Lions have only won one league away game against QPR in their last 12 but they have come out firing on all cylinders to make sure that they improve that record.

It's been all Millwall to this point but QPR have got themselves a corner after Koki Saito is fouled by Romaine Esse. What can they do with it?

  7. Home fans make feelings knownpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sunderland 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Adam Lanigan
BBC Sport at the Stadium of Light

Emmanuel Latte Lath gets a few boos as he returns to the field following a few minutes of treatment.

The Ivorian striker was absolutely cleaned out by Trai Hume for a deserved booking for the Sunderland defender.

There is no way in the world he was milking that!

Home fans are also none too impressed by Boro goalkeeper Seny Dieng tapping goalkicks no more than a yard to centre-half Matt Clarke as they look to play out from the back.

Those jeers are a lot more understandable.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 21 September

    Norwich 1-0 Watford

Watford's bad start to the day has just got so much tougher, as goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann is now replaced by Jonathan Bond.

Only 13 minutes have been played, but that is two enforced changes after going a goal down at Carrow Road.

  9. Postpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sunderland 0-0 Middlesbrough

Finn Azaz sends the Boro free-kick over the crossbar from 25 yards out.

Emmanuel Latte Lath looks to be in real discomfort after that foul by Trai Hume... Not sure he'll be able to carry on but he's going to try it.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 21 September

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

Japhet Tanganga puts in a beautiful ball from near the halfway line into the box.

Duncan Watmore scuffs his shot but Macaulay Langstaff tries to control the bounce for his own chance. It's intercepted and sent far away from the penalty area.

Langstaff puts his hands up for handball but it's not received with any real enthusiasm and it's soon all forgotten by the forward.

  11. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 21 September

    Norwich 1-0 Watford

Watford boss Tom Cleverley has now been forced to turn to his bench because of injury.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sunderland 0-0 Middlesbrough

Trai Hume is booked for an absolutely crunching foul on Boro striker Emmanuel Latte Lath 25 yards out.

Not a good challenge at all.

  13. Postpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 21 September

    Norwich 1-0 Watford

Watford go looking for an immediate response, and for a moment it looked like Tom Dele-Bashiru would deliver it.

A corner falls kindly for him in the box, but he blasts over the bar.

  14. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sunderland 0-0 Middlesbrough

Tommy Conway hits the barImage source, Rex Features

Big chance for the away side!

Isaiah Jones stands up a perfect cross into the middle for Tommy Conway.

The Scotland international is unmarked and six yards out but his header skims the top of the bar.

  15. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 21 September

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

It's been a lively start for Millwall in west London. They get themselves a corner in the opening minutes and they almost cause some damage with it.

It falls to captain Jake Cooper, who sends it over to a looming Japhet Tanganga but it's cleared away as QPR take a moment to try and settle in. That's if the Lions will let them.

  16. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 21 September

    Sunderland 0-0 Middlesbrough

Pretty feisty start in this derby that isn't a derby but is sort of a derby.

The home side win a free-kick in and advanced position down their left that Luke Ayling belts clear for Boro and they briefly have a three on two but Isaiah Jones' ball is cut out.

  17. goal

GOAL - Norwich 1-0 Watfordpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 21 September

    Callum Doyle (3 mins)

    Norwich lead!

Callum Doyle is a long way forward, and has Josh Sargent begging for the ball as he approaches the box.

But Doyle has his eyes on the back of the net and lets rip from about 25 yards out.

Daniel Bachmann may have made a wonder stop a few minutes earlier, but he cannot get a strong enough hand on this one.

Maybe the keeper should have done better.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:33 British Summer Time 21 September

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

The Carrow Road crowd are already off their feet!

Josh Sargent throws himself at a delicious low ball, and his sliding effort is brilliantly kept out by Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.

That is a big warning shot from the hosts.

  19. Identity-searching Canaries host Hornetspublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 21 September

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

It’s felt like an age since Norwich were back at Carrow Road.

A run of away days and the international break has really starved the Canaries faithful of their home comforts.

They have so far picked up only two points from a possible six at home this season, but are unbeaten across three home games under boss Johannes Hoff Thorup, whose tenure at the Norfolk club has been a medley of inconsistency.

Thorup is yet to oversee a Championship home win, and now welcomes a Watford side that have beaten them in eight of their past 10 league meetings and won on four of their past five trips to Norfolk.

The Dane has this week spoken of feeling an “obligation” to establish a “clear identity” at Norwich City.

A Hornets side that have made a strong start to the campaign under Tom Cleverley will certainly test what the Canaries are made of.
