West Ham v Man Utd (Sun 14:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui on whether he's feeling any pressure after the Hammers' poor start to the season, in which they have taken eight points from eight games: "When you become a coach, you live with pressure always. It's that kind of life.

"We didn't have the best start or the start we wanted to have, but we are sure we are taking steps to arrive at the end of the season in the position we want to be.

"I believe a lot in these players and I am sure the results we desire will arrive. The only way is to work hard and try to silence the critics by improving, and this is the way we work."

West Ham v Man Utd (Sun 14:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui on Mohammed Kudus, who is suspended for three matches after being sent off against Tottenham: "Unfortunately Kudus is going to be out for three matches because his behaviour was not good and he knows that. He knows he has to improve because this can't happen. I hope it's the last time this happens. I'm sure it is not going to happen [again].

"I talked with him and sometimes you don't have to talk a lot about this kind of situation because he knows it was a mistake. I say, for sure, that he will learn about this incident and his behaviour will handle this better in the future."

  5. 'I've given the FA my observations on my comments'published at 13:43 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Brighton v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil on the fallout from Manchester City's late winner at Molineux on Sunday: "I am really open in my interviews with you [reporters] but you guys have a responsibility to reflect what I say accurately as well, because at that point in the press conference we were talking about VAR in general, it wasn't linked to the John Stones goal, so I think that's important to state.

"I said very clearly at the start of my press conference that I could understand the Stones goal being given. There is an argument to say Bernardo Silva isn't interfering, which I understand.

"I've given the FA my observations on my comments and we wait to hear back. I've spoken to Howard [Webb], I think it's important those conversations stay as private as possible. We agreed on certain things and disagreed on other things."

  6. Ten Hag hopes Fernandes and Evans will be fit, but Antony doubtfulpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

West Ham v Man Utd (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on team news: "We have to be ready, it's a short turnaround and we expect Bruno [Fernandes] back, and hopefully also Jonny Evans."

On Antony being fit after going off with an injury against Fenerbahce: "I don't know."

  7. Fenerbahce game 'a step forward' for Ugartepublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

West Ham v Man Utd (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on Manuel Ugarte: "For sure, the six position is a key position in your team, and [Ugarte] has to learn this position in our game model. I think today is a step forward, so I'm really pleased with his performance, and from here on he has to build on it.

"We have to stay patient but, as you see, if the quality in that position is not right, it's very difficult for a team to control games, and then I don't even speak about dominating games. So, that position needs one who brings the quality all the time, and we have to integrate him now in this team. As I said, I was pleased with his performance [against Fenerbahce] and from here on he can build up."

On whether 'the six' is a position they've been lacking in: "No, we have Casemiro. Lately he's been doing very good again. We have people there who can fill in that role. We have Kobbie [Mainoo] and I think Christian Eriksen is doing brilliant in this moment."

  8. Injuries 'holding us back' - Ten Hagpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

West Ham v Man Utd (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on injuries plaguing his side for a second season in a row: "Yeah, that holds us back in our levels, and also in our position in the league. When you don't have the players available, you can't line up the best team, and that is what's holding us back in this moment.

"We need more players available often and then we have to work all together on this point. That is the players, the coaching staff, all the other staff - we have to do better to get more available players, because we know when we have them, we are a really tough team to play [against]. When we have them, we can be really successful, and that is what we have shown over the last couple of months."

  9. O'Neil hoping to recall Johnstonepublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Brighton v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil on the fitness of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who missed last weekend's defeat by Manchester City: "Sam has trained this week and we will see where he is before making a call tomorrow."

Asked about whether Johnstone would be recalled ahead of Jose Sa: "I'm really clear on who is the best goalkeeper to start for us tomorrow."

  10. Resting players for Europe could give Chelsea advantage in top-four racepublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Chelsea v Newcastle United (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender

I think Aston Villa can finish in the top four. My main concern for them is Chelsea, I think they’re a decent team and have improved hugely.

I think maybe just the way Enzo Maresca has had the ability to leave players out of his European squad to keep them rested might just give them a bit of an advantage.

  11. 'Newcastle deserve more points'published at 13:22 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Chelsea v Newcastle (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on Newcastle: "Newcastle are very clear, their physicality is very strong, they're very good. Probably, they've been a bit unlucky, in the last game against Brighton, but I think they deserve some more points.

"The way they work, [they've had] many different years together, it's quite clear. I really like Newcastle and now is a chance for a team to do good because they are in a difficult [stage]."

  12. 'With Cole Palmer, the Blues carry far more of a threat than the Magpies'published at 13:20 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Chelsea v Newcastle (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

BBC columnist banner for Chris Sutton

Newcastle have scored only eight goals in their first eight league games, but I don't think they have changed their style since last season.

It's more that they don't have the strength in depth in the strikers' department. They badly missed Alexander Isak when he was injured because their other main frontman, Callum Wilson, has not been fit enough to feature this season.

I am backing Newcastle to get a goal this time after two games without scoring, but everything points towards a Chelsea win at Stamford Bridge. With Cole Palmer in the team, they carry far more of a threat than the Magpies.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Nemzzz's prediction: Chelsea lost last week and, for once, Palmer did not play his best. Liverpool managed to keep him quiet, but I not sure Newcastle will. 3-1

  13. Jackson 'important' for Chelseapublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Chelsea v Newcastle (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on striker Nicolas Jackson: "We know very well that he is important for us. On the ball he is working fantastic - he's scoring goals, he's assisting, he's linking with his team-mates; off the ball he is working hard, he's pressing the way we want to press and he's doing fantastic with us.

"We also have Christopher [Nkunku] there. He's going to help us because the season is very long. We have so many games and also sometimes the game plan can be different, it can be more for Christopher than Nico. We also have young talent so we can choose."

  14. 'I've given up on backing Man Utd to beat anyone'published at 13:12 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

West Ham v Man Utd (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

BBC columnist banner for Chris Sutton

Things did not get any better for Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui with their defeat against Tottenham, and it seems he still doesn’t know what the 'West Ham way' is.

The Hammers need a big improvement, but this game is more about what Manchester United do and whether they turn up.

They were excellent in the second half of their win over Brentford last time out, but now they need to back it up, and for 90 minutes.

Can they do it? You just never know with Manchester United, and I've given up on backing them to beat anyone.

They are inconsistent and what doesn’t help is that they are playing in Turkey in the Europa League on Thursday night, so team selection and tiredness has to come into the equation too.

My daughter is doing some maths revision with me at the moment, working out the area of triangles - you multiply the height by the width, then halve it.

I can get all of those sums right, but I am always wrong about United, so I am going to let her make this prediction. I will stick to the maths. It’s a lot easier than predicting United’s results.

    Sophia Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Nemzzz's prediction: United to win. Am I confident? Definitely! Well, I hope so anyway. 0-2

Nemzzz on manager Erik ten Hag and United's season: He's under a lot of pressure so I am pleased our results have picked up. It was a big win against Brentford last week - he really needed that.

I feel a bit sorry for him because we have had so many injuries to deal with. When everyone is fit and on top form, I feel like we have got a really strong team, but that just hasn't happened enough.

  15. Sutton's predictions v rapper & Man Utd fan Nemzzzpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

First plays third when Premier League leaders Liverpool visit Arsenal on Sunday, but how many key players will the Gunners be missing?

"It is Arsenal’s absentees that concern me - in defence and attack," said BBC Sport's football expert Chris Sutton.

"It's not just at centre-half where they have problems. Who is going to handle Mohamed Salah if Jurrien Timber isn’t fit?"

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches this season, against a variety of guests.

For week nine he takes on rapper Nemzzz, who supports Manchester United.

  16. Gunners trio missing from start of trainingpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

BBC football news reporter at Arsenal's training ground

Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber were missing from the first 15 minutes of Arsenal's training session today.

They could have joined the session when the cameras left but it does mean they are big doubts for the game with Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsenal have one more training session tomorrow before that match and boss Mikel Arteta is set to update the media on whether they have a chance of joining that.

  17. 'We do our job every single time'published at 13:02 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Man City v Southampton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester City

And finally, Pep Guardiola reflects on the possibility of Manchester City going two years unbeaten at home in the Premier League if his side beat Southampton on Saturday: "It is really good. We are consistent and if we weren’t, we wouldn’t have won the Premier League so many times. We do our job every single time."

  18. Savinho 'has courage'published at 12:58 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Man City v Southampton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester City

On winger Savinho and how quickly the 20-year-old has settled in, Pep Guardiola said: "He is so young. What I like is that he wants to be the best player on the pitch and try things.

"He has courage to participate in everything. He’s not scoring goals but he’s trying. He has that feeling of being here to be a good player and that defines really good players. It aligns with the club's ambitions and he will get it [to his best]."

  19. Guardiola 'not concerned' about Foden formpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Man City v Southampton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester City

On Phil Foden saying he feels better following his goal against Sparta Prague on Wednesday, Guardiola said: "I am not concerned at all because I know when he is fine he will get it. He is a natural, incredible talent who solves the game for himself.

"But in a career you have these bumps, you just have to try to restrict them. Sooner or later it ends. I am glad to hear he feels good."

  20. Grealish and Doku also out for Citypublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 25 October 2024

Man City v Southampton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola added that wingers Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku are also unavailable, in addition to Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker.

On Southampton boss Russell Martin, who has received criticism for his stubborn game plan, Guardiola said: "He will have success sooner or later. Normally when you change your thoughts and ideas then the players will notice and know you’re not a believer.

"It is one of our jobs to convince the players we are in a good way. It is impossible to train them in something if you show you’re not believing.

"I always have a lot of respect for Championship promoted teams. I don’t know how we can complain sometimes [about the fixture schedule] because look at how many games the Championship teams play."

On playing a team in the bottom three: "After Champions League games, I prefer to play teams who are better in the table because you focus more and not look at that. But it is what it is.

"They have the courage to play and are brave with the ball. Wolves were at the bottom and we struggled to win."
