QPR have lost four games in a row and are now bottom of the Championship after losing 2-1 at home to Portsmouth.

"I've been doing this job for 20 years and have been through some difficult situations but this is not the most difficult," QPR manager Mart Cifuentes told BBC Radio London.

"We spoke in the summer that it could take some time and today is a good example.

"We started well, scored early and had more chances but then we concede and we lost momentum in the second-half.

"This is not a time to panic."

  3. 'It was a professional performance'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Burnley

Burnley manager Scott ParkerImage source, Rex Features

Burnley are back on top of the Championship with a controlled 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday.

"We're well worth the three points," Burnley boss Scott Parker told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"We started the game well and put our stamp on it and got our noses in front.

"We didn't start the second-half too well but overall I'm very pleased.

"We managed the game really well, took the sting out of them and it was a really professional performance."

  4. 'We dominated the first half, but became too open'published at 18:22 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Stoke 1-1 Norwich

A chance to climb into the play-off places missed for Norwich at Stoke this afternoon, who were unable to capitalize on a strong first half display at the bet365 Stadium, and head back to East Anglia with a point.Norwich head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup told BBC Radio Norfolk:

“I’m pleased with our first half performance, which was really, really solid. We dominated the game and created the chances we needed, but then in the last five minutes of the half and in the second half became too open.

“I tried to tell the players (at half time) to imagine it was 0-0 and go back to before we scored and how the feeling was, but we didn’t succeed. We had to defend too many crosses, direct passes and corner kicks.

“I would have loved three points but looking at the game maybe one point is OK."

  5. 'A very good game of football'published at 18:19 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Stoke 1-1 Norwich

    Narcis PelachImage source, Rex Features

The draw against Norwich means that's now three games unbeaten for Stoke City - the first time they have achieved such a run this season.

Manager Narcis Pelach told BBC Radio Stoke:

“It was a very good football game which the fans enjoyed and I’m pleased with my players because the effort, commitment and body language was very good at times with the ball so a point was good for both teams.

“I know Norwich very well. Last season they reached the play-offs and I expect them to be there again this season as well, so it’s good point.

"The dressing room is disappointed because they wanted more, which is really good to see.”

  6. 'I'm fed up with talking about the same things'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Millwall 1-1 Derby

Millwall manager Neil Harris with his arms foldedImage source, Rex Features

Millwall drop to within two points of the Championship relegation zone and it's now just one win from their last six games as they drew 1-1 with Derby.

"From the outside it might look like a good point, coming from behind and rescuing a point but I'm disappointed," manager Neil Harris told BBC London.

"It's another goal conceded from a set piece so we need to have a better mentality.

"I'm fed up with talking about the same things - not being dominant in both penalty areas.

"We created enough chances to win the game.

"On the flip side I'm absolutely delighted for Mihaila (Ivanovic - goalscorer) - he's moved abroad, away from his family to come over here and follow his dream and it's vital that he's got his first goal."

  7. 'The win is the most important thing'published at 18:07 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: QPR 1-2 Portsmouth

Portsmouth manager John Mousinho applauds the travelling fans after the win at QPRImage source, Rex Features

Portsmouth ended their long wait for a first Championship win of the season with a 2-1 victory at QPR.

"The win was the most important thing because the pressure was obviously building with the way the league table is," manager John Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent.

"We've probably missed Callum Lang over the last couple of weeks because of his work rate and that showed with the first goal where he chases the ball down and shows his quality after that (a cross for Freddie Potts to score) and then he shows calmness and composure to score the penalty.

"The belief should've been building - which is difficult when you haven't won in nine games - but it should've been building and hopefully it gives us a lot of confidence going into the next few games."

  8. 'I'm going to see the referee'published at 18:00 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Preston 1-0 Coventry

    Mark RobinsImage source, Rex Features

Coventry boss Mark Robins wanted to speak the match officials after seeing his side edged out at Deepdale at lunchtime.

“I think if you take the game in isolation we’ve done very little wrong. Our use of the ball was OK from time to time, there wasn’t a great deal in it," he told BBC CWR.

"We probably cancelled each other out a little bit but we had opportunities to score

“The goal that was disallowed, I’m going to see the referee about. I want to know why that goal was disallowed. There’s talk of it being disallowed for handball. There was no handball I’m being told”

  9. 'We have lost two points'published at 17:54 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Oxford 1-1 West Brom

    Carlos CorberanImage source, Rex Features

West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan admits the dramatic draw at Oxford United felt like two points lost.

“The feeling is that we have lost two points,” he told BBC Radio WM.

“In the final moments of the game you have to protect the result, we didn’t manage it well and we should have in those final minutes.

“We also had some possibilities to score in the second half but we weren’t able to do so to get the result, if we score those then we would have more control of the game.”

  10. "We didn't panic'published at 17:48 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Oxford 1-1 West Brom

    Des BuckinghamImage source, Rex Features

Oxford United boss Des Buckingham was thrilled his Us side held their nerve before snatching a last-gasp point against West Brom.

“We’re happy with the second half performance, we have come up against a really good team in West Brom who will I’m sure be challenging to get up and out of this league so to get a result we’re very happy," he told BBC Radio Oxford.

“In the second half there was a real clear way in what we did, there was an identity about us and we didn’t panic despite the score line.

“It took us until the 93rd minute to finally score but we got there in the end and that’s what matters.”

  11. 'I felt the love today'published at 17:41 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Luton 3-0 Watford

Rob Edwards clappingImage source, Rex Features

Luton boss Rob Edwards said he would allow himself to enjoy the derby win over his former side Watford... for 20 minutes at least.

"It's been a tough start to the season, a tough start for all of us, we've taken a few hits - we've even taken hits during the game today, we lost two more centre-halves," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"People don't realise how hard this is at the moment, we finished off with two wing-backs at centre-back, who were incredible.

"I don't know where we'll be at for Wednesday but in the here and now, I'll enjoy it for 20 minutes and everyone else can enjoy it for the weekend.

"I care about this football club, I'm a fan as well as the manager. I don't like disappointing people and I've felt that this year - but today I felt the love and the passion (from the fans) around the stadium."

  12. 'We showed little bits of fear'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Luton 3-0 Watford

    Tom CleverleyImage source, Rex Features

Watford head coach Tom Cleverley says 'fear' got to his side as they suffered a derby drubbing at Luton at lunchtime.

"We're all going to have to take what criticism comes our way on the chin, no one more so than me," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"We didn't compete well enough, we didn't do the dark arts well enough - they try and pick out your weaknesses, They're on second balls and they're in the referee's ear and managing the time in the game.

"Quality-wise, it wasn't there for us, we didn't commit to playing our football, we showed little bits of fear.

"We made technical mistakes and that came from a lack of belief. Even when we do play out (from the back) with a little of risk, if one or two people don't really commit to it, then the whole thing breaks down."

Two goals against the run of play for Burnley but Scott Parker’s side are now seven unbeaten and top of the tree.

An error from Yan Valery allowed Jaidon Anthony to finish coolly for a first half lead. And despite a bright response, just five minutes into the second half, Burnley got a second.

Josh Brownhill’s volley just about beating the man on the line after Zian Flemming’s effort was smothered by James Beadle.

Sub Jeremy Sarmiento hit the post with ten to go, which would have been cruel on Sheffield Wednesday and they had Michael Smith volleying over late when facing an open goal.

Not champagne football but it’s all good if you’re a fan of the Clarets.

“It’s been an emotional week” and the support “shows you the power of football.”

Acting Bristol City head coach Chris Hogg said his players were visibly affected by the loss of Liam Manning’s son this week and says his overriding emotion after the victory over Middlesbrough is pride.

After the game, the players gathered in front their travelling fans in front of a banner that read ‘Fly High Theo’.

Hogg said that tribute will live with him forever.

What a battle it has been at Ewood Park!

Swansea gave it everything but they couldn’t get the ball on target. They haven’t scored at all in October.

For Blackburn though, their 100% home record remains intact.

They have now won their first five league games at Ewood Park for the first time in 30 years… the last time they did that was when they went on to win the Premier League!

  16. 'It wasn't pretty at times'published at 17:18 British Summer Time 19 October

    FT: Sheff Wed 0-2 Burnley

    Glen Little
Ex-Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

It wasn't pretty at times, the first half in particular.

Burnley were fortunate to be in front after a mistake, the second was a good goal, and you feel that knocked it out of Sheffield Wednesday.

The crowd went a bit flat which makes you think Wednesday gave up a bit, but to the top of the league for Burnley.

Let's take a look at what today's results mean for the Championship table..

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 19 October

    Stoke 1-1 Norwich

A share of the spoils in Stoke.

A crazy end to the first half which saw two goals scored in injury time ends up deciding the outcome of this one.

Ante Crnac's first goal for Norwich had given the visitors the lead on the stroke of half time, but a million dollar finish from Million Manhoef a few minutes later means this one ends all square.

Norwich stay on the edge of the play-offs in seventh, and Stoke remain in the bottom half in 16th.
