Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy on team news: "There’s no injury news from yesterday’s game and no players coming back for Saturday."

On new signing Woyo Coulibaly: "Today he wasn’t able to train yet with the team because we are finalising the paperwork. So we are waiting on today, if he can train with the team. Obviously we have to assess him and it's one training session before the game. We’ll see if we can get him involved in the game on Saturday. I think that will be the maximum possible."

On more signings: "We’re working on it, on every possibility that we can add. Permanent and loan as well, within the possibility of the club. We needed an extra right-back because of the injury to Ricardo. Hopefully we can add some more."

In reference to an earlier story on Wilfied Zaha potentially moving to the United States, an anonymous reader has been in touch asking why Arsenal are not in the market?

Anon: What are the Arsenal board and Arteta doing? We need players in ASAP. Zaha on a six-month loan deal is perfect for Saka cover. Stop buying CMs and go out and get a top-tier striker - a Gyokeres or Retegui. If Isak is too pricey, offer a cut-price fee for Lille's Jonathan David as he can sign as a Bosman. Just bring in attack-minded players to get the Champions League or Premier League titles.

West Ham boss Graham Potter on team news: "We are still waiting a little bit on Crysencio Summerville. We will probably have to make a late decision - the game may come too soon but we will see because there is still a bit of time.

"Everyone else is pretty much as they were, we have a couple of bumps and bruises that we need to watch over but nothing problematic - certainly long-term."

On Michail Antonio: "I was planning to see him this afternoon. I have spoken to him on the phone, he is doing well but it will be nice to see him."

  7. 'Our supporters will be the first to know about transfers'published at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

West Ham v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

We promised you some Graham Potter. Here is the newly installed West Ham manager on plans for the January transfer window: "I think if we have anything to report, our supporters will be the first to know. As I've said before, we are focusing on the players we have here. You can't worry too much about speculation and what newspapers or whatever else say. Our focus is on the players that we've got and not to comment on players that aren't West Ham players."

On whether there is a particular type of striker he is looking for: "It's not quite as simple as that. There are a few checklists we have to go through - whether they are available, whether they are able to play in the Premier League and how they would fit how you play and fit into the group. It's a complicated window, so in a week where you have three games in eight days, my focus is on the players that are here. We have three points to play for on the weekend and that's where all our energy is."

Newcastle made it nine wins on the bounce in all competitions - equalling the club record - with a 3-0 victory over Wolves on Wednesday.

So how far can they take this current run? Can Eddie Howe's side make it 10 in a row to claim the out-right record?

Here are their next five fixtures, with a chance for glory on three fronts and, as Paul says, no European games to clog their schedule:

    • 18 Jan: Bournemouth (h)
    • 25 Jan: Southampton (a)
    • 01 Feb: Fulham (h)
    • 05 Feb: Arsenal (h) - EFL Cup semi-final second leg

We are as much a part of the title race as Arsenal and Forest. I still think Liverpool are too far ahead for anyone to catch but you never know!

    Luke, Newcastle

I think Newcastle are in the title race because they are winning games convincingly. Like Forest, they aren't in European competition this season so their fixture list isn't as cluttered as other clubs.

  12. 'With Isak up front Newcastle have a title chance'published at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Newcastle 3-0 Wolves

Former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer, speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, about Alexander Isak, who he believes epitomises everything that is great about the current Newcastle side:

"He is in red-hot form. No-one can stop him. [Scored] eight games in a row, 16 goals in 16 games. He said it himself that he feels amazing.

"When you feel amazing you go on to a football pitch not hoping you are going to score, it's knowing you are going to score goals and he has got that feeling...when you have got that feeling it makes you unstoppable."

Sherear added that with Isak up front Newcastle have a genuine title chance.

Honestly, the season is far from over. Liverpool have not been their usual self lately, Newcastle are on a run, Arsenal are only four points off top spot and Nottingham Forest are bucking all trends! A few results either way could tip the balance. It's a welcome change from Manchester City ruling the roost.

Arsenal, City and Villa will suffer more when the Champions League starts again, Liverpool will also suffer, but less than the others, until the knock-out stages. Which leaves opportunity for Forest, Newcastle and Chelsea (who are able to rotate their squad in Europe). I think Liverpool have got to be favourites on this basis, but wouldn't rule out Chelsea, Newcastle or Forest finishing second ahead of Arsenal (albeit Arsenal have less distractions in the run-in since their cup exit).

Myles Lewis-Skelly was booked as he left the pitch on 87 minutes, substituted potentially for his own good as he started to get tangled with the Tottenham players at a corner.

His pumped up walk around the touchline, saluting the Arsenal fans, certainly smacked of a young player loving life and enjoying every moment.

Quite what the Tottenham supporters made of it is another matter, though.

Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly speaking to Optus Sport: "My mum is here, my grandma, my friends. I had to put on show for my grandma and make sure I didn't look soft in front of her. I had to make sure I was winning my tackles for her and hopefully she is proud of me.

"It was amazing. It was everything that I lived up to in my dreams. I couldn't believe it. I had to take in every moment. It's all pressure but this is what we live for. It's moments like this we live for. It's a derby and we need to win and that's what we did today. I feel like a million dollars."

Young Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly was one of the Gunners' standout performers in the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The 18-year-old became the second youngest Arsenal player to start in a north London derby, behind only Cesc Fabregas, who appeared at the age of 17 in the 2004-05 season.

Manager Mikel Arteta described his display as "phenomenal" and said the teenager has "so much trust in himself".

Well, he certainly trusts himself to make a pass. Lewis-Skelly misplaced only two passes all night - the joint highest success rate alongside midfielder Declan Rice, who also misplaced two.

  20. 'You can still win if everyone is contributing'published at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on 5 Live Breakfast

I think Arsenal, the last couple of seasons, have always relied on the whole team contributing on the score sheet.

Bukayo Saka weighs in big, Martin Odegaard last season was scoring a lot of goals. OK, he's missed a fair bit of football now for Arsenal, but a big positive last night was, I think, that he's looking back to his best, fit and starting to run the game.

So all these players have to chip in. Gabriel Martinelli with the finish, those one-on-ones, go to hit the back of the net more often. It just hides the fact that they don't have that out-and-out goalscorer in the middle of the pitch, but you can still be really competitive and win things if everyone's contributing around it.
