  1. As it stands at the top...published at 13:25 British Summer Time 12 April

HT: Leeds 2-1 Preston; Plymouth 0-1 Sheff Utd

Leeds are back on top of the live Championship table on goal difference.

And what an important strike that might be for Sheffield United just before the break.

They're two points off the automatic promotion spots as it stands AND they travel to Burnley on Easter Monday. Big game that!

  2. 'Plymouth have created very little'published at 13:23 British Summer Time 12 April

    HT: Plymouth 0-1 Sheff Utd

    Katie Middleton
Ex-captain of Plymouth Ladies on BBC Radio Devon

When you're five points off safety you need to be picking up three points.

It's not been a bad performance from Argyle, but for me it's about how we're going to get back into the game.

We've created very little in terms of attacking force, we might see a few changes to get a more bodies forward.

  3. 'Leeds should be a couple of goals up'published at 13:21 British Summer Time 12 April

    HT: Leeds 2-1 Preston

    Aidy White
Former Leeds United full-back on BBC Radio Leeds

They should be a couple goals clear. I've been really impressed with the performance so far.

Only thing I might like to see is moving the ball a bit quicker, but overall I'm pleased.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 12 April

The referee blows his whistle for half-time and Sheffield United lead thanks to Jesurun Rak-Sakyi's excellent individual goal just before the break.

It's been tight, it's been nervy, it's been cagey and you can tell how much the match means to both sets of players.

Following a half low on attacking quality, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi's excellent curled effort in the 44th minute separates the two sides and, as it stands, puts the Blades back within two points of Burnley with that match up between the two teams on Easter Monday looking rather tasty.

Argyle will need more attacking endeavour in the second half with Ryan Hardie living off scraps so far.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Leeds are going back to the top of the Championship as we reach the halfway stage at Elland Road.

A blistering start to the contest saw Manor Solomon curl the Whites ahead with a wonderful finish after four minutes.

Two minutes later, Kaine Kesler-Hayden rifled in an excellent equaliser for Preston before Jayden Bogle bundled in from close range in the 13th minute to restore the lead for Leeds, who have since spurned a few good chances to kill it off.

An entertaining game, one which the hosts have largely dominated and will want to put beyond doubt in the second 45.

  6. CLOSE!published at 13:19 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Joel Piroe almost makes it three on the stroke of half-time! A ball in from Wilfried Gnonto comes to Piroe but he fires just wide from the edge of the box.

  7. INJURY TIMEpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Two minutes added on at Elland Road at the end of the half and we've played one of them already.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Joel Piroe looks to spin in behind on the halfway line for Leeds but he's hauled to the ground by Andrew Hughes as he gets away.

About as clear a yellow as they come for the Preston man.

  9. 'Great time to score'published at 13:15 British Summer Time 12 April

    Plymouth 0-1 Sheff Utd

    Danny Hall
Sheffield Star journalist on BBC Radio Sheffield

It's a great time to get the first goal.

He's had a bit of stick from the away fans but that's a great way to shut them up.

There's ice in his veins there, he's sent the defender for a hot dog and finished it into the far corner.

  10. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 0-1 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 12 April

    Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (44 mins)

    What a finish!

The Blades break the deadlock and it's from a bit of magic from Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

Gus Hamer feeds the winger who does brilliantly to cut inside Nathanael Ogbeta and bend in a beautiful shot with his left foot inside Conor Hazard's post and into the far corner of the goal.

Excellent end to the half for the promotion-chasers.

  11. CHANCE!published at 13:13 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Leeds are knocking on the door for a third and they work another opening.

Brenden Aaronson cuts inside from the right and hits an effort from about 12 yards out but it's lacking in power and straight at David Cornell.

Aaronson then tries again from the rebound with his head but again can't generate any power and it goes wide.

The Whites will want to put one of these opportunities away. All the while it's still only 2-1 and all that...

  12. Postpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Preston swing in a corner from the left and again Leeds keeper Karl Darlow is out to claim in commanding fashion.

  13. Postpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Manor Solomon weaves into the area for Leeds and falls to ground under pressure from the Preston defence but there's no contact and no real appeal for a penalty from Solomon.

The 25-year-old has looked very lively in this first-half, though.

  14. Postpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 12 April

    Plymouth 0-0 Sheffield United

A long free-kick is played up to Argyle's Mustapha Bundu and Jack Robinson wrestles the striker around the neck to the floor but the referee, rather inexplicably, does not blow up for a free-kick which would have been just outside the box.

Down the other end, Jesurun Rak-Sayki takes on Julio Pleguezuelo but the Spanish defender dives in on the winger and the ball goes out for a corner while giving Rak-Sakyi a bit of afters as well.

That has got the crowd going.

  15. Postpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Leeds should probably be 3-1 up! Junior Firpo squeezes a ball across the box from the left and it runs all the way to Joel Piroe about six yards out but Preston centre-back Lewis Gibson makes a fantastic block on the slide to prevent a certain goal.

  16. Postpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

During that quickfire start, Leeds managed to eclipse their record goal tally in the Championship since 2005 (81 in 2010-11 and 2023-24).

They're on 82 goals for the season already with four games still remaining after today.

The Whites have scored 19 more goals than any other side so far this season (Norwich are second with 63). Quite remarkable.

  17. Postpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 12 April

    Plymouth 0-0 Sheffield United

A ball is played down the channel and Callum Wright thinks he has won Plymouth a throw-in for another chance to launch the ball into the box.

But the referee blows up for a free-kick to Sheffield United after Wright slid in on Blades defender Anel Ahmedhodzic.

  18. 'Great save by Cornell'published at 13:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

    Aidy White
Former Leeds United full-back on BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds are picking up the ball in really good areas.

David Cornell does well to get low and turn it around for a corner kick.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Leeds playmaker Manor Solomon's attempted through ball is well blocked by Andrew Hughes in the Preston backline but it drops nicely for Wilfried Gnonto on the edge of the box.

He then hammers an effort on target but it's well saved by David Cornell, diving to his left.

  20. Postpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leeds 2-1 Preston

Robbie Brady gets in behind for Preston on the left but he's squeezed out well by Jayden Bogle and his cross goes behind for a goal-kick.

Wilfried Gnonto then finds a yard of space at the other end but his cross is tame and deflects through to Lilywhites keeper David Cornell to gather with ease.
