Benjamin Sesko feeds Bryan Mbeumo again. This time he's tackled well by Dan Ballard.

United's first chance of the second half. Benjamin Sesko picks out Bryan Mbeumo in space but his shot is poor and goes well wide.

A strange start to possession for both these teams, they are allowing each other to have the ball without any contest.

These games are what cost Arsenal last season. In complete control, dominant should be out of sight but only one goal up. This second half will tell us more about our title credentials than late goals against Newcastle and City did. We can make it very easy, or VERY difficult.

Some nice play down the left by Arsenal ends with Leandro Trossard's shot at the near post deflected behind for a corner.

  8. Postpublished at 16:12 BST

  11. 'West Ham not winning midfield battle'published at 16:10 BST

    Arsenal 1-0 West Ham

    Chris Wise
BBC Final Score reporter at Emirates Stadium

West Ham have been relatively secure defensively if you consider how much of the ball Arsenal have had in their final third. However they are not winning the midfield battle and that means Fullkrug is not getting a sniff.

  12. Postpublished at 16:08 BST

    Arsenal 1-0 West Ham

A rare West Ham attack as Malick Diouf plays a great ball into the box for Crysencio Summerville, who controls it well but his shot is blocked.

Tony Pulis was ahead of his time with the set pieces. His Stoke team would be banging in the goals in this league.

  16. 'One-way derby'published at 16:02 BST

    HT: Arsenal 1-0 West Ham

    Chris Wise
BBC Final Score reporter at Emirates Stadium

    It’s a one-way London derby.

Arsenal seem unaffected by Martin Odegaard’s injury.

West Ham have been dancing with danger for large portions of the half. They’ve defended well, but are losing the midfield battle and can’t get anything to stick upfront.

United are not home and dry yet. Sunderland still a threat - and an early second- half goal from them and it’s all to play for.

If they want a use of VAR that the fans will get behind, use it to punish players for simulation. Especially faking a head injury! Sunderland player went down like he had been shot despite not being touched by Sesko, should absolutely be booked for simulation

  19. 'Sesko has all the attributes of a good number nine'published at 15:58 BST

    HT: Man Utd 2-0 Sunderland

    Steph Houghton
Former Manchester City and England captain on Final Score

Sesko has all the attributes of a really good number nine. First and foremost he works really hard but he does make good runs and at times his team-mates don't see him. Then they've got the likes of Cunha, Mbeumo, and Mount who can create the chances.

Lammens has had virtually nothing to do but been so vocal throughout the first half. Giving off old school Schmeichel/Van Der Sar commanding vibes and I'm here for it. If he's half as good as either of those, United finally have a keeper worth the jersey.
