As a United fan, anything really, we're not competing with either side!

Some goalkeepers might have opted to punch that cross there. Mamardashvili has never looked like that kind of goalkeeper to me. If he can catch it he will.

Good few early touches from Giorgi Mamardashvi on his Premier League debut in goal for Liverpool. But no saves needed yet.

It's a real shame that Chelsea are missing some of their key players today - would have been an incredible match to see if players like Palmer, Colwill and Delap were all playing

The battle between Cucurella and Salah is one of many that I am already enjoying in this game.

It's been a great start to the game, a real pace about it, Liverpool are looking dangerous, particularly down that left hand side. Both teams are looking like they're going to have a go.

I’ve taken Salah out of my FPL team so I expect he will score a hat trick this evening. You’re all welcome

    FT: Man Utd 2-0 Sunderland

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim speaking to BBC Sport: "That is the kind of game where when we're not playing well we're defending well. We had our moments, we were focussed and competitive. Not the perfect performance. Senne [Lammens] did really well. We were a competitive and adult team today. We need to win these games with a clean sheet. Good for us.

"We need to understand that we need everyone to be ready to play. It's a long season, we have a lot of problems, anything can happen. The important thing is that the teammates helped Lammens a lot to have a very good performance."

On Benjamin Sesko: "He has time, he's going to stay here for a lot of years. The media puts a lot of pressure on the goals for the striker but for me it's the effort that is the most important thing. Every time we kick the ball he's fighting for it, that's massive for us. To win the second ball and give us time to breathe. I'm really happy with that.

"It's frustrating to not have this kind of performance again. We need to do this kind of performance away as well - it's our responsibility to play like this."

It's a bit of a surprise to see Chelsea defender Malo Gusto in midfield.

When the line ups were announced, it felt safe to assume Reece James would be playing there - given his prior experience.

Yet, James is preferred at right back.

    FT: Man Utd 2-0 Sunderland

    Sunderland

Sunderland manager Regis le Bris: "We didn't start well, it's a bit disappointing because we had good ambition here. The first 30 minutes were not at the level expected or the Premier League.

"They [United] scored twice then after that it became another game. We changed our shape to make a one-v-one game, it was a bit chaotic but at least we were back in the game. We were not strong enough to create chances today, only at the end."

On the overturned penalty: "I haven't reviewed it so I don't know, I don't think it would change my opinion about the game. This game doesn't define our start to the season. But when we are not at the level I don't; think we can exist in this league.

"We are still a young team with not much experience together so we need the ups and owns. Obviously we don't want to be too negative when we lose but it's a strong reminder because this league is very demanding."

    Chelsea v Liverpool (17:30 BST)

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport Chelsea reporter

Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong has been waiting for this kind of opportunity to play in a big match for his boyhood club.

The 19-year-old's chances have so far been limited but injuries to Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill, with Trevoh Chalobah suspended, have finally opened up a chance.

However, marking British transfer record Liverpool signing Alexander Isak will be a tough task.
