  1. 'Worrying for Blackburn'published at 12:43 British Summer Time 31 August

    Burnley 1-0 Blackburn

    Steve Thompson
BBC Radio Lancashire summariser & former Blackpool assistant manager

Great link up play by Burnley.

Nothing the Blackburn keeper Aynsley Pears could do about it.

A worry for Rovers will be the fact that one centre forward managed to get between two centre halves, so easily.

  2. goal

A lovely team goal and Burnley are ahead in the East Lancashire derby!

Just count the passes, this is a well worked goal. The Clarets work the ball from their own half and overwhelm Blackburn.

Jaidon Anthony, a late summer window signing, makes an immediate first impression as he whips in a stunning ball in to Lyle Foster who duly heads in from close range.

    Cardiff 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Fair play to the Middlesbrough fans who've made the near 300-mile journey to Cardiff for this early kick-off.

Considering how early they must have set off this morning, they're making a decent noise in their corner of the ground here.

  4. CLOSE!published at 12:39 British Summer Time 31 August

    Coventry City 0-0 Norwich City

First opportunity of the game goes the way of the home side.

Coventry's Ellis Simms is played through on goal with a lofted pass over the Norwich defensive line, his attempt on goal is just wide of the post.

    Cardiff 0-0 Middlesbrough

There's an early injury concern for Cardiff as Jesper Daland is down.

Calum Chambers makes a challenge on Boro attacker Delano Burgzorg, who falls into the back of Daland.

He trudges off and for the moment the hosts are down to 10, but the Norwegian is back on now.

No real chances of note in the first 10 minutes.

    Burnley 0-0 Blackburn

Burnley are beginning to press against Blackburn now after a shaky start.

Lucas Pires tries his luck in a crowded box but the visitors say no dice and defend well.

    Burnley 0-0 Blackburn

Burnley are pressing first and fast.

When they get possession Blackburn can't handle it.

    Cardiff 0-0 Middlesbrough

It's a bright start for the hosts as Chris Willock wins a free-kick in the Boro half.

The away side get it away but Cardiff have had a lot of the early possession, with Yakou Meite seeing an early shot blocked.

Manolis Siopis is shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away inside the first five minutes. Silly.

  9. 'What a start'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 31 August

    Burnley 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Gallacher
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

What a start to the game, great first touch by Blackburn's Andi Weimann to bring the ball down, and a lovely strike but just over the bar.

  10. Postpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 31 August

    Burnley 0-0 Blackburn

Blimey, Blackburn almost take an immediate lead at Turf Moor.

Andi Weimann tries to catch Burnley keeper James Trafford out after he fumbles clearing the ball away from his own box.

The Austria international tries to lob Trafford - who's well off his line - from distance, but his effort sails narrowly over the crossbar.

So here we go then, transfers done and time for football.

Cardiff are unchanged from the side who drew 1-1 at rivals Swansea on Sunday.

Middlesbrough make two changes to the team who drew with Portsmouth - Neto Borges and Tommy Conway come in for Lukas Engel and Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Last night saw the summer transfer window come to a chaotic end as we hit the 23:00 BST cut-off to get all business done for clubs in the Premier League and EFL.

The deals kept coming right up until 09:30 BST, with Trevoh Chalobah's loan move from Chelsea Crystal Palace confirmed this morning.

You can see every transfer from deadline day - and the whole of the rest of August - in our comprehensive (and very long list) here.

Cardiff sit bottom of the Championship with one point from their first three games and a goal difference of -7.

Callum Robinson's late equaliser in the 1-1 South Wales derby against Swansea last weekend was the Bluebirds' first league goal of the season, following an opening-day 2-0 defeat to Sunderland and a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Burnley.

Cardiff have lost four of their last five home league games, while Middlesbrough have won on their last three visits to the Welsh capital.

Boro have made a mixed start to the season, beating Swansea on the opening weekend, losing away at Derby and drawing with Portsmouth.

Michael Carrick's side come into the game on the back of a 5-0 home defeat by Stoke in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Coventry City take on a Norwich side winless in their opening three games at the CBS Arena this lunchtime.

The Sky Blues have not beaten the Canaries since 2009. This season Mark Robins' side have picked up four points in their opening three games whilst Norwich have just two.

Johannes Hoff Thorup has failed to win any of his first three Championship games in charge and could be the first Canaries manager to fail to win each of their first four league games whilst in the second tier since Lol Morgan in 1966.

He will be hoping that today is the day they can pick up their first three points.

Not only is this a huge Lancashire derby - and the first time these sides have met since Burnley clinched the Championship title at Ewood Park just over a year ago - but there are plenty of new faces in the mix today.

Both Burnley and Blackburn had busy deadline days.

The Clarets brought in Brighton forward Jeremy Sarmiento and Millwall midfielder Zian Flemming on season-long loans as well as Stoke City midfielder Josh Laurent and forward Oluwaseun Adewumi from Austrian side Floridsdorfer for undisclosed fees.

Meanwhile, full-back Vitinho has left to join Brazilian top flight side Botafogo on a permanent deal.

Blackburn signed Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell as well as goalkeeper Balazs Toth on three-year deals and Stoke City midfielder Lewis Baker and Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry on season-long loans.

In League One, Blackpool are seeking their first win of the season against Wycombe Wanderers. Though they have their work cut out for them if the statistics are anything to go by - all five of the Chairboys most recent trips to Bloomfield Road have resulted in a draw.

Meanwhile Huddersfield Town have won all three of their League One games this season and could make it a fourth against a struggling Rotherham, who have only won two of their last 25 league games.

Over in League Two, Gillingham could match their 13 home match win streak from 2015 with a victory over Chesterfield while Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers play their first meeting since 2016.

Rovers have conceded defeat in eight of their last 10 games against the Valiants, failing to score in seven of them.

We will be bringing you updates of all the early League One and Two action as it happens.

Queens Park Rangers claimed a big three points in a 2-1 win at Kenilworth Road last night as Luton's winless start to the Championship season continued.

Rob Edwards' side have picked up just one point so far following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Two goals in three second-half minutes from new signing Nicolas Madsen and Michael Frey turned the game around for the visitors, after the Hatters had led through Jimmy Dunne's own goal.

It was the second time in three days the R's had got one over the Bedfordshire club, having knocked Luton out of the Carabao Cup on penalties at Loftus Road on Tuesday.
