  1. Conners closes with parpublished at 23:53 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12 (66), Conners -8 (70)

    Well played Corey Conners.

    He's shot a two-under par 70 and there's a nice exchange with Rory McIlroy.

Been a good pairing today - surely a healthy one for McIlroy.

It'll be quite different if he's got Bryson DeChambeau next to him tomorrow.

  2. Postpublished at 23:52 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -9 (17)

Bryson DeChambeau has another almighty heave at the ball on the 18th tee, but finds the fairway bunker.

  3. Par finish for McIlroypublished at 23:51 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12 (66), Conners -8 (17)

Not to be for Rory Mcilroy who starts his putt a touch too far left and it does not drop.

He taps in for par and makes it back to back rounds of 66 here at Augusta.

    Stunning.

  4. 'McIlroy has stayed in his bubble today'published at 23:50 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Connors -8 (17)

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The most interesting thing with McIlroy today is his unwillingness to take all the adoration in.

It’s way too early – he’s stayed in his bubble and hit so many good shots today.

  5. Postpublished at 23:49 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (17)

First to go will be Corey Conners who found the dip to the right of the 18th green.

Plenty of surface to work with and he scoots it on but it is a little heavy and rolls a bit far beyond the flag.

Given the way today has gone Rory McIlroy would probably like playing with the Canadian tomorrow, but he'll need to sink that to stand any chance.

  6. Two parspublished at 23:49 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -9 (17)

Two pars on 17, but a much better one for Bryson DeChambeau than Justin Rose - who knocks it in pretty close with his approach but it's a familiar story with the putter as his effort just runs out of legs and curls away.

Just on the last two holes alone he's lost three shots with that three-putt from five feet on 16 and this missed birdie effort on 17. He'll have nightmares about his putting tonight.

  7. Postpublished at 23:48 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (17)

Everyone is on their feet at the 18th as Rory McIlroy approaches.

It's been a fabulous performance from the Northern Irishman.

Can he raise the decibels even further?

  8. Postpublished at 23:46 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -13, Conners -8 (17)

Another eight iron for Rory McIlroy as he eyes up 160 yards to the final green of his round.

Up it goes and he's swiftly after it yelling: "Go, go!" as it soars towards the putting surface.

He'll be happy when he gets up there. Beautifully executed and one last birdie chance to press home his advantage.

  9. Bogey finish for Lowrypublished at 23:46 British Summer Time 12 April

    McCarty -2 Lowry -5 (F)

Oh that's a nasty old finish for Shane Lowry who bogeys 17 and now 18 to slip back to five under for the day and a level-par round of 72 that promised to be so much better.

  10. Postpublished at 23:42 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -9 (16)

Bryson DeChambeau has a really tough angle on the 17th green, and he's wandering about muttering to himself like Pythagoras trying to work out all the angles - and works them out nicely as he rolls a solid putt just a few feet past the hole.

  11. Bryson on the marchpublished at 23:38 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -9 (16)

Bryson DeChambeau is on the dancefloor on 17 but he's miles away from where he wants to be and he'll have a stinky putt coming up which looks like a tough one to get down in two from.

Bryson has a much more purposeful march on him now down the fairway as he looks to chase down Rory McIlroy - or at least make sure he's in the final group with him tomorrow.

The American will love the head-to-head battle and McIlroy won't want to see his face all day as memories of last year's US Open, which DeChambeau won as McIlroy crumbled, will no doubt be fresh in the mind.

  12. Postpublished at 23:38 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (17)

Flirting with the magnolias down the right of the 18th fairway but Rory McIlroy's tee shot is safely on the short grass.

The 18th pin is tucked in the back right corner today.

He should have a shot at it from where his ball has ended up.

  13. Postpublished at 23:36 British Summer Time 12 April

    How's this for a stat?

There have only been three eagles today.

Two of them have come from the clubs of Rory McIlroy.

    Wanna see one of them?

  14. 'Who is this showman?'published at 23:33 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -9 (16)

    Andrew Magee
PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

DeChambeau put hands on hip and he looked at the crowd to say ‘come on’ – he baited them into cheering for him.

This showman – who is this guy? We never get to see him.

  15. Par for McIlroypublished at 23:33 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (17)

Oof that misses right and McIlroy has a niggling four feet to save his par.

Rock solid from Rory though and he gets out unscathed.

    One to go.

  16. Conners misses birdie puttpublished at 23:32 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (16)

Corey Conners goes first and just misses his birdie putt. The Canadian is so solid tee to green but his putting never quite has enough conviction.

    Still in this tournament though.

Can Rory McIlroy find a birdie here?

  17. Scheffler finishes at level parpublished at 23:31 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -5 (72), Hatton -2 (75)

Scottie Scheffler's strange round has just come to a close on the 18th green with a very well taken par putt.

He's shot a level par 72 today without any sign of closing in on Rory McIlroy's lead.

Can never discount him on Sunday as the Masters, but the defending champion will have to go some tomorrow.

A bogey for Tyrrell Hatton ends his disappointing round at three over for the day.

  18. Birdie for Bryson, bogey for Rosepublished at 23:29 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -9 (16)

Bryson DeChambeau taps in his short birdie putt, but Justin Rose not only misses his but misses an even shorter one coming back!

Rose has the look of a beaten man about him at this stage now with that two-shot swing coming near the end of a round where he;s hardly made anything on the greens.

  19. Postpublished at 23:27 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (16)

Did I say the 17th green was a minefield?

Well Rory McIlroy has plotted his way through the hazards just beautifully with his second shot there.

He could be about to make the fifth birdie of the day here. Eight feet or so for that.

And Corey Conners has joined him in situe. Terrific shots from this pair.

  20. Bogey for Lowry!published at 23:27 British Summer Time 12 April

    McCarty -3 Lowry -6 (17)

Oh Shane! He's in a spot of bother but plays a nice chip up onto the 17th green and it looks a simple task to save par - but he just doesn't set it off on the right line and with too much pace down the hill it grabs the left edge and lips out.

Bad time to miss a putt like that.
