    Rose -7, DeChambeau -7 (15)

Two cracking shots by this pair on the 16th and they'll be lining up pretty short birdie putts when they stride up to the green.

Bryson DeChambeau in particular is just heating up towards the end of this round having been made to scramble for large parts of it so far.

Just seen a graphic of the 17th green.

Slopes in every direction - and only four birdies here today.

Bryson DeChambeau is so much fun to watch! The 15th shows exactly why as he exhibits his brute force with two lusty blows seeing him fly through the green but then some soft educated hands produced a nice chip back up.

That's enough to see him roll in a birdie putt to get back to eight under as he goes three under on the par fives today.

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (16)

There's the first one and Rory McIlroy clearly likes it.

    Sounded beautiful too.

Safely away down the 17th fairway.

Before anyone gets too excited, 17 and 18 are playing as the hardest holes at Augusta National today.

Some solid swings required to navigate the close here.

  6. Par for McIlroypublished at 23:15 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (16)

Solid effort from Rory McIlroy but his putt is not hard enough and stays up.

No matter - he's headed to the 17th four shots up.

  7. Box office!published at 23:14 British Summer Time 12 April

    McCarty -5 Lowry -7 (16)

Wonderful bunker shot from Shane Lowry on 16, as he has to blast the ball way past the hole to the top of the slope then watch it tumble all the way back down - just missing the flag but leaving him eight feet uphill that he strokes home for a three.

A very eventful three - one of those times you wish there were pictures on the scorecard.

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (16)

A look to the heavens for Corey Conners as he passes up a great opportunity for birdie at the 16th.

He has to settle for par.

Rory McIlroy about to go. He doesn't go chasing the birdie, three feet of borrow makes him a little tentative but it's a tap-in par.

16th hole. Eight iron. Safely aboard.

And Rory McIlroy will have 15 feet for another birdie.

Justin Rose is still scrapping away though and he'd love to be in that final group tomorrow and a birdie at 14 will point him in the right direction as he joins Bryson DeChambeau on seven under.

  11. Postpublished at 23:05 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -12, Conners -8 (15)

There's huge noise reverberating around Augusta now as Rory McIlroy strides towards the 16th tee.

His game face is very much on.

    A very commanding hole.

Rory McIlroy is leading the way, but who will he play with in the final group if it stays this way?

His big mate Shane Lowry is not far off you know, how much would you like to see Lowry and McIlroy go out last tomorrow?

Now then Rory McIlroy. Time to put the foot down.

    Eagle putt here we go...

  15. Scheffler misses birdie puttpublished at 23:00 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -5, Hatton -3 (16)

It's haunches for Scottie Scheffler as his birdie putt somehow scuttles off right at the last second to avoid dropping at the 16th.

Like a woodlouse when a rock is turned over.

    He can't quite believe it.

Bad news for Tyrrell Hatton too as he makes a bogey to slip further back.

  16. Postpublished at 22:57 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -10, Conners -8 (14)

No chance Rory McIlroy seeing Patrick Reed with shots like that!

That was an absolute moneymaker onto the 15th green.

It's a pearl and hands him six feet for eagle - and the chance of a commanding lead.

  17. Big misspublished at 22:56 British Summer Time 12 April

    McCarty -6 Lowry -7 (14)

Awful putt from Shane Lowry on 15. He's aiming left and then pulled it a bit further left as well - on a straight putt!

That was for birdie too after playing the 15th brilliantly well and hs gives his putter a slam on the green in anger after missing it.

  18. Postpublished at 22:56 British Summer Time 12 April

    McIlroy -10, Conners -8 (14)

Seven years ago Rory McIlroy was in the final group with Patrick Reed and fell away.

Not a face he'll be keen to see tomorrow.

  19. The clubhouse leaderspublished at 22:54 British Summer Time 12 April

    Reed -6 (69), Aberg -6 (69)

    Patrick ReedImage source, Getty Images

While the frontrunners head towards home, Patrick Reed and Ludvig Aberg are already back in the hutch with the score to beat.

Both Reed, who has a Green Jacket hung in the wardrobe after claiming the 2018 Masters, and Aberg carded three-under 69s today.

The pair sit on a score of six under after 54 holes.

Highly unlikely that'll be enough to go into tomorrow as the overnight leaders, but they're very well placed.

  20. Bryson comes up shortpublished at 22:54 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose -6, DeChambeau -7 (13)

Bryson DeChambeau is woefully short with his approach to the 14th green - that's obviously a reaction to booming it over the green on the last, and leaves him with another difficult up and down for par.

I seem to have been saying that quite a few times today.
