  1. The pulling power of Tigerpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 19 July

    Lowry -6 (17)

    Peter Scrivener
    BBC Sport at Royal Troon

The stands on 18 are emptying out at some rate, and that's despite the fact that our leader, Shane Lowry, is going to be heading this way in about 15 minutes.

  2. Watch: Lowry's double bogey on 11published at 14:26 British Summer Time 19 July

    Lowry -6 (17)

Earlier, Shane Lowry went through some drama on the 11th hole. His double-bogey six was - well, it was eventful...

    Scheffler -2, Spieth +2, Young +3 (15)

This trio are going for it on the par-five 16th and all of them have found a greenside bunker with their second shot - albeit a different one.

Looking forward to comparing their sand skills over the next few moments.

    Lowry -6 (17)

Oh so close to another Shane Lowry birdie. From 50-odd feet, it kisses the left edge of the cup and drifts a foot past.

    It'll be a par.

The smile is back on Lowry's bearded face.

  5. Should Woods keep playing these events?published at 14:24 British Summer Time 19 July

The biggest draw in golf? Without question.

Not able to compete at majors? Seemingly so.

So what should Tiger Woods do?

Has he earned the right to keep playing golf's blue-riband events, or should he listen to his body and step aside?

Thumbs up if you want to see him next year at the majors.

Thumbs down if you think he needs to stop.

  6. 'Wished I could have played more'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 19 July

    Woods +14 (77)

Yesterday, Tiger Woods said this: "I'm physically feeling a lot better than I did at the beginning of the year. At the end of last year, it was tough, and I haven't played a whole lot. I think that, as the year has gone on, I have gotten better.

"I just wish I could have played a little bit more, but I've been saving it for the majors just in case I do something pretty major and then take myself out of it. Hopefully next year will be a little bit better than this year.

"I thought I could play a little bit more earlier in the year. I think I was a little bit too optimistic. I need to do a lot more work in the gym and keep progressing."

    No sign he's going anywhere.

  7. 'It's been a privilege to be out here with him'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 19 July

    Woods +14 (77)

    Andrew Murray
Former European Tour winner on 5 Live

What a scene this is. Penny for Tiger’s thoughts as he’s leaning on his putter, looking up at the giant scoreboard with Woods +14 written on it.

Only he knows whether this is his last one or not but it’s been a privilege to be out here with him, even though he has struggled.

  8. Marquee trio close out with parspublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 19 July

    Cantlay -1 (68), Schauffele -1 (72), Woods +14 (77)

Good attempt from 53 feet for Tiger Woods to close with a birdie but it comes up short.

A strange round for Xander Schauffele who flickered but never caught fire. He's still under par for the tournament though.

As for Patrick Cantlay, he's looked in good touch and will be a threat this weekend.

  9. Unwanted hat-trick for Thomaspublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 19 July

    Thomas E (4)

Just the hat-trick you do not want in golf as Justin Thomas makes it a third bogey in a row at the fourth.

This time he's had a shocker on the par five, missing the fairway off the tee then missing the green with his third and taking three to get down.

Wheels are coming off for JT

  10. Troon members straining to see Woodspublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 19 July

    Peter Scrivener
    BBC Sport at Royal Troon

The grandstands flanking the 18th green are rammed. There's barely a spare seat as the fans rise to welcome Tiger Woods.

The winner of the 2000, 2005 and 2006 Open Championships is getting a simply wonderful ovation.

His playing partners Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay respectfully halt their walks to the green to allow Woods to soak it all in. There's a smile on his face, but the cap remains on his head.

The clubhouse is five yards behind the green and the members are huddled in there, noses almost pressed up against the windows, trying to glimpse the great man for one last time at Troon this year.

  11. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 19 July

    Brown -5 (11)

A bump and run from the front of the green lands two feet from the pin and Dan Brown follows his birdie on 10 with a solid par on the 11th.

  12. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 19 July

    Rose -3 (5)

    Richard Winton
    BBC Scotland at Royal Troon

Another birdie look, but this time the ball stays high.

Still no black marks on Justin Rose’s card after 23 holes, though. Some going in these conditions.

  13. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 19 July

    Woods +14 (17)

Huge ovation for Tiger Woods as he strides, alone, up to the 18th green.

Two years ago at St Andrew's, we wondered whether that was the last time we'd see him at The Open.

This is definitely the final time we'll see him at this Open and, 10 shots behind the cut, questions will be asked about his future.

  14. Spieth birdies from off the greenpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 19 July

    Scheffler -1, Spieth +2, Young +3 (15)

That's a fine putt from Jordan Spieth as he drains it down the throat from the fringe at the 14th.

Clawing things back after his double bogey at the 11th.

  15. 'Going to be a challenge in the afternoon'published at 14:14 British Summer Time 19 July

    Lowry -6 (16)

    Catriona Matthew
Captain of Team Europe at the 2019 & 2021 Solheim Cup

I think Shane Lowry would take six under sitting in the clubhouse after two rounds, go back home, have a rest, put his feet up and watch them out there battling against the wind in the afternoon.

It’s definitely picked up and we can squalls of rain going past over the hills.

It’s going to be a challenge for these ones in the afternoon.

  16. Lowry back in the leadpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 19 July

    Lowry -6 (16)

Shane Lowry is in the next postcode for his eagle putt but, I tell you what, he's not that far away. A slither more pace and it might have dropped.

Still, it's an easy birdie for Lowry and he's back in the lead at minus six.

  17. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 19 July

    Scheffler -1, Spieth +3, Young +3 (16)

So is Scottie Scheffler and he's taken dead aim at the 15th flag. It's rolled away off the back but he comes charging back with his putt and it ain't far away.

Great attempt from the world number one.

  18. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 19 July

    Lowry -5 (15)

Shane Lowry is hoping to be in the sort of position Richard describes on Sunday, and right now he's on the green in two at the par-five 16th.

It's Sunday afternoon and you're standing here, on the 18th fairway, needing to get your wee ball in that wee hole in three shots to claim the Claret Jug. How you feeling..?
