  1. Corpuz misses eaglepublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 2UP (14)

Allisen Corpuz squanders a chance to eagle the 14th, hastily pushing her putter to send the ball wide. Georgia Hall had already sunk a birdie so Europe hold on to their two-hole advantage.

Four holes left in the final match. Hall and Charley Hull need to dig deep.

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (14)

Carlota Ciganda plants her ball on the 15th green, but it's a long way back and has some serious undulations in the way.

Playing partner Emily Pedersen is also on the green but nobody here has got a particularly likely look at birdie.

Two utterly vital blue points are in the balance at the bottom of that scorecard.

    Saturday fourballs: Khang/Al Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom – USA win 4&3, An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant – USA win 6&4, Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (14), Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 2UP (13)

    Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 2UP (13)

Barely any respite for Georgia Hall and Charley Hull as they head to the business end of course.

Allisen Corpuz hits a beautiful crisp iron over the water at the 14th to give herself the chance of an eagle.

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (14)

That's ugly for Lexi Thompson at the par-five 15th as she finds the bunker and then gets a bucketful of sand on her second shot.

She trudges off chuntering - think her caddie is getting a clear indication of how she feels about that.

    Europe

There were one or two expletives in the European camp after Anna Nordqvist and Madelene Sagstrom fell to a 4&3 defeat to Alison Lee and Megan Khang.

It's been one of those perplexing hands-on-hips sorts of days so far for Europe, who will probably feel that they have left at least a couple of points and definitely plenty of putts out on the course so far.

  7. Everyone misses at 14!published at 21:56 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (14)

Emily Pedersen has put sunglasses over her eyes and Suzann Pettersen has her arm around her on the edge of the green.

She can barely watch as Carlota Ciganda's putt lips out and rolls away menacingly.

    Three putts for both Europeans.

To win the hole Ally Ewing...misses! Pressure gets the better of all of them and it's halved.

Well, well. Emily Pedersen does miss and it'll be a par.

Lexi Thompson goes next and she wrenches right so she makes par.

Two birdie putts incoming, one per team and both, you feel, absolutely crucial.

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (13)

Here come the European putts, down the hill and racing. Neither drops and they will have a fair few feet coming back as well.

I misunderstood Ally Ewing's shot - that was her third - so she's in tight for a birdie opportunity.

However, both Carlota Ciganda and Emily Pedersen will have to tidy up before Ewing takes her shot.

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (13)

The two captains Suzann Pettersen and Stacy Lewis are both crouched down at the edge of the 14th green.

This feels like a pivotal hole, not just for this group, but for keeping European hopes alive.

    Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 2UP (13)

Charley Hull pockets a useful birdie then swaggers away from the green to chew the fat with Georgia Hall.

However, Lilia Vu holds her nerve to slide her putt in to halve the hole. The European pair still hold the upper hand with five to play.

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (13)

The 14th has been such a theatrical hole this weekend and Ally Ewing's shot plays to the crowd as it drops a few feet from the pin.

Emily Pedersen and Carlota Ciganda have eagle shouts of their own - but they're certainly not in as tight as their opponent.

  13. 'Completely surreal'published at 21:47 British Summer Time 14 September

Alison Lee on that hole out on the second and shirtless caddie celebrations:

"It was completely surreal, definitely one of the best moments of my career. Two great caddies out with us and we celebrated exactly how we wanted to."

Megan Khang has almost lost her voice after such an eventful round:

"As you can tell by my voice, I've had a little too much fun. It's always great when you get to play with one of your best friends.

"What a start to the day, it was crazy when that happened, I guess the caddies will be going viral right now."

Andrea Lee and Rose Zhang got the first point of the afternoon for Team USA:

Andrea Lee: "I think we both played incredible golf today, super solid. Whenever I was out of a hole, Rose was there for me and whenever Rose was out of a hole I was there for her.

"We both made a lot of putts and had so much fun out there and just so grateful to have a partner like Rose."

Rose Zhang: "I think today was even more so ‘ham and egg’ – Andrea stepped it up and gave us a shot and just In general we kept each other in it and it was just a good time."

    On the overall team spirit:

Lee: "It’s been amazing. Incredible vibes in the team room and on the bus rides home. A lot of carpool karaoke and a lot of laughs for sure.

"I think this team is really special and Stacy’s done a really good job of keeping us together."

Europe vice-captain Laura Davies has just popped up on television and acknowledged they are are "in serious trouble" and "have to win the last two matches".

Charley Hull has plonked herself into a decent position on the 13th with her approach shot, but so too has Lilia Vu. Birdie chances for both players.

  17. Any hope?published at 21:37 British Summer Time 14 September

The European Ryder Cup team were at 10-4 late on a difficult Saturday in September 2012.

They won the final two fourballs, wrestled it to 10-6 overnight and then produced the Miracle of Medinah on the Sunday.

So it is possible. Comeback in the Capital? Or will it more likely be Demolition in DC for the European Solheim Cup class of 2024?

  18. Another win for the USApublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 14 September

    Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom - USA win 4&3

Another red point on the board as America power further and further ahead of Europe.

The writing was on the wall early on in this one when Alison Lee holed out from the middle of the fairway - prompting those bizarre shirtless caddie celebrations.

We then had Megan Khang's ball dropping into the hole and then later bouncing out of a bunker, so you have to say the USA had all the breaks as well.

  19. Hull extends Europe's leadpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 2UP (12)

Speaking of fighting spirit, how about Charley Hull!

Terrific putt from the Englishwoman at the 12th and she's extended Europe's advantage in the final match.

Europe are ahead in the bottom two matches - and how much do they need these points.

  20. Europe edge aheadpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (13)

Forty feet of green separates Carlota Ciganda from a birdie and brilliantly she's hammered it into the hole!

Ally Ewing cannot match her and, while the US have picked up the first point of the session, the Europeans are still fighting and take the lead in the third match.
