  1. 'Sums up past three days'published at 21:31 British Summer Time 14 September

    An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant – USA win 6&4

    Lydia Hall
Ladies European Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Those three putts sum up the past two days.

We had two eagle tries, they had one - they holed theirs and we didn't.

The Americans have got the hang of these greens, have been holing loads of putts and done exactly what they need.

  2. Zhang seals win with an eaglepublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 14 September

    An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant – USA win 6&4

The ninth point is on the board for the USA after Andrea Lee and Rose Zhang complete a ruthless demolition of Celine Boutier and Linn Grant.

Zhang seals victory on the 14th hole with an eagle putt.

Incredibly, Lee and Zhang are 20 under for 18 holes in the Solheim Cup the past few days.

Both players were rested for the foursomes this morning and looked fresh this afternoon.

  3. History tells us...published at 21:18 British Summer Time 14 September

The largest lead by one team entering the singles session of a Solheim Cup is five points. It's happened on four occasions and each time the team with the advantage has won.

Both teams have done it twice. Europe in 2000 and 2013, the US in 1998 and 2017.

On the flipside, the largest lead that has been overcome entering singles is four points.

Europe led the US 10-6 in Germany in 2015 but were beaten 8½-3½ for the Americans to win the Solheim Cup 14½-13½.

As things stand, they'll need to find victories in the final two matches just to make it to 10-6.

  4. Lucky 14 for USApublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 14 September

    3UP Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (14)

There's something about this 14th hole isn't there...

This morning we saw Allisen Corpuz almost top her approach that somehow ended up on the green for eagle, and now Megan Khang has seen an approach somehow bounce out of the bunker on her way to an eagle.

For both of those breaks to go the USA's way in one day is quite something - the fact it's happened twice on the same hole is incredible.

  5. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 1UP (11)

Birdie chances go begging for both Georgia Hall and Charley Hull at the 11th hole. Opportunities for European players to get some breathing space when in front have seemingly been few and far between.

  6. Halved hole for match threepublished at 21:10 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen A/S (12)

A tidy putt from Lexi Thompson at the 12th prevents Europe having an opportunity to win the hole. Both Emily Pedersen and Carlota Ciganda have birdie chances of their own and its the former who does the honours.

    Important.

  7. 'Something almost supernatural'published at 21:05 British Summer Time 14 September

    Kat Downes
    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

I think there are sprites and pixies in these Virginian woods - and the magic is all going the way of Team USA.

Just when Europe look to be making forward moves, there's something happening, something almost supernatural that just propels the Americans ahead again.

  8. Lee aces sublime bunker shotpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 14 September

    5UP An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant (13)

Andrea Lee rubs salt in the wound for Celine Boutier and Linn Grant.

A superb bunker shot from Lee bounces then skids on the green and into the hole.

Because of her position in the sand Lee cannot see the hole and scarcely believe it when playing partner Rose Zhang tells her it has dropped in.

The American pair now have a five-hole cushion.

  9. Postpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 14 September

    2UP Khang/Al Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (13)

    Lydia Hall
Ladies European Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

    That was absolutely ridiculous.

Megan Khang took one hand off the club, she was that disgusted, only for it to have the luckiest bounce I think I've ever seen.

  10. Bunker bounce outpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 14 September

    2UP Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (13)

We've seen the Americans hole out from everywhere, play some terrific golf and get some lucky bounces as well - but here's a new one from Megan Khang.

She's drilled a hybrid on 14 to try and clear the water, which she does but it's heading right for the bunker...but somehow it bounces OUT of the sand and onto the green, tumbling down towards the flag!

    Just incredible.

    Saturday fourballs: 2UP Khang/Al Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (13), 5UP An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant (13), Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen A/S (11), Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 1UP (10)

Phil Landes from the No Laying Up podcast on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra: "It's very important. Europe needs leads and needs to see some blue on the leaderboard if we want an exciting Sunday....

"I come back to that first match with Anna Nordqvist and Madelene Sangstrom. If they can find a way to get a point there, that could make a huge difference."

  13. Hull bags birdiepublished at 20:59 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Vu v Hall/Hull 1UP (10)

The wind has picked up on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club and the Europeans will hope that extra buffeting can unsettle some of the American players in the back nine.

Lilia Vu gets her sums wrong and bounces a birdie putt on the 10th into the tufty grass surrounding the green.

Charley Hull responds by guiding in a birdie putt from 15 feet as she manages to scratch a bit of blue back on board.

  14. 'Playing a lot of good golf'published at 20:52 British Summer Time 14 September

    Stacy LewisImage source, Getty Images

Stacy Lewis has been speaking on Sky as Team USA continue to charge ahead:

"It’s been good. We actually got off to a good start. Most of the matches we have started off poorly or gone down early and had to rally on the back nine. But they’ve got off to good starts and it’s nice having some red on the board. They are playing a lot of good golf.

"This format’s hard. You have to make a lot of birdies and it comes down to one putt or two here and there."

On momentum: "They know no lead is safe in the Solheim Cup. You just have to keep plugging away and keep trying to win more holes. We’ve got to get as many points as we can going into tomorrow."

  15. Burnt edgepublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 14 September

    2UP Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (13)

Madelene Sagstrom has another chance to pull a hole back but her 12 footer burns the right edge of the hole - another example of these crucial putts not dropping for Europe.

The 14th coming up next could see some fireworks.

  16. 'Europeans not allowed to get anything'published at 20:49 British Summer Time 14 September

    Lydia Hall
Ladies European Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The Americans have just not allowed the Europeans to get anything out of any of these matches. There was a lot of blue this morning, but somehow the Americans managed to turn that around,

And this afternoon, they've got out of the blocks really fast - there's real good golf being played and the Europeans can't match it at the moment.

  17. Postpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen A/S (11)

I was excited about a putting contest. Carlota Ciganda misses, opening the door for Ally Ewing but she's pulled it past the left edge.

No birdies - and they stay all square.

  18. Postpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen A/S (10)

Two outstanding tee shots at the par-three 11th - one from Carlota Ciganda and another equally good from USA's Ally Ewing.

We'll have a putting contest very shortly.

The US are halving holes with birdies - not allowing Europe to win with them.

    They're enjoying it too.

I'm not really sure what more Europe can do at the moment.
