Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-20 New Orleans Saints

Poor pass from Brees is almost picked by Antoine Winfield - it probably should have been picked off by Winfield. That's a big chance in this game.

There can't be many things worse than when you catch a short pass like Emmanuel Sanders just did and instead of some friendly blockers from your own team there's a swarm of tacklers coming to swallow you up.

The Saints receiver took a big hit on that play.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-20 New Orleans Saints

Brady is almost picked off on third down as the Bucs fail to keep the drive going and have to punt it again. The Saints have done a brilliant job of limiting the big plays, and it's just getting to Tampa Bay a bit now with the likes of Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski and Chris Godwin all looking frustrated.

That's just how New Orleans will have drawn their gameplan up and it's working so far.

  4. touchdown

Touchdown - Saintspublished at 01:40 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-20 New Orleans Saints

Tre'Quan Smith catches his second touchdown pass of the game, and this time it's from his main quarterback Drew Brees as the Saints go ahead.

A nice back-shoulder throw from Brees and Smith shows nice footwork and body control to turn and collect the ball right in the front corner of the end zone.

Fine drive to kick-off the second half from the Saints as they moved the ball well and served up a large dose of runs against the Bucs' top-ranked rush defence to send a message.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-13 New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara has come out firing in this second half as hs gets the hand-off five out of the six straight run plays Sean Payton calls to get the ball rolling. It's a bold move against the league's top-ranked rush defence but Payton loves making a statement after half-time.

He did call an on-side kick at the start of the second half of the Super Bowl after all!

  6. Half-time - All squarepublished at 01:19 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-13 New Orleans Saints

An intriguing half, full of big hits but not much by the way of offence considering the two quarterbacks we've got on show. Tom Brady has 93 yards passing and one touchdown, Drew Brees has just 63 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

Jameis Winston has 56 yards and a touchdown! That trick play dialled up by Sean Payton was the highlight of the half by far and it looked the only way the Saints would find the end zone at times.

In short, more needed from both sides on offence as their respective defences both put in solid first half displays.

  7. field goal

Field goal - Buccaneerspublished at 01:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-13 New Orleans Saints

Ryan Succop levels us up from 37 yards as the drive just stalls and the Bucs run out of time and downs to try and force the issue.

  8. Postpublished at 01:14 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

Chris Godwin takes a tremendous diving catch at the back of the end zone from a superb Tom Brady rainbow right over the top of the defence, but the ball just pops out of the receiver's grasp as he hits the turf and it drops incomplete.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

Brady gets the Bucs over midfield thanks to a Leonard Fournette catch and run. The running back looks fired up so don't be surprised if Tampa Bay feed him a few more carries before half-time.

It looks like a field goal may be the most likely outcome here but Brady will take a least one shot into the end zone.

  10. Two-minute warningpublished at 01:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

It's a slow burner this one, and you can definitely see it catching fire in the second half. For now it's the Buccaneers looking to get some points before half-time as they take up the ball with now the players just exchanging a few roe pleasantries as the heat gets turned up.

This is the third time they've played each other this season after all.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

The Saints were looking to go for it on fourth down but a false start ruined any hope of that and they'll have to punt. There was certainly a flinch on the Tampa Bay defensive front but there was no encroachment and the Saints moved in to get the flag.

  12. Postpublished at 00:59 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

Emmanuel Sanders grabbing a couple of nice catches for a couple of first downs as Drew Brees just shows signs of really warming up. We can't have a clash between Brees and Brady having Jameis Winston as the best quarterback involved!

  13. Turnover ruled outpublished at 00:52 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

Marcus Williams is awarded an interception by the referees on the field, but on review it looks like this one will be coming back as he didn't get two feet in bounds.

The booth review rightly chalks this one off - and it was a pretty poor call in the first place. Tampa Bay will punt anyway.

  14. touchdown

Touchdown - Saintspublished at 00:46 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-13 New Orleans Saints

New Orleans score with a wonderful piece of trickeration that involves back-up quarterback Jameis Winston launching a 56-yard touchdown throw to a wide open Tre'Quan Smith.

You knew something was going on when Winston came in for Brees, then moved out wide! He eventually got eh ball from a hand-off and by that time Smith had raced clear of the defence and strolled into the end zone.

In a battle of two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, Jamies Winston gets a touchdown throw - only in the play-offs!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-6 New Orleans Saints

Some big hits going in here, and some tremendous one-on-one battles in the secondary. Sean Murphy-Bunting is flagged for a hole but he got a face full of Jared Cook's hand there and it cold have easily gone the other way.

  16. touchdown

Touchdown - Buccaneerspublished at 00:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-6 New Orleans Saints

Tom Brady takes advantage on the first play following the turnover as he finds Mike Evans for the score. The big Bucs receiver is so hard to defend from close range as once he gets inside the defensive backs he's so big he can shield the ball expertly.

    That's 76 post-season touchdown passes for Brady.

  17. Turnover - Buccaneerspublished at 00:34 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-6 New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is picked off by Sean Murphy-Bunting. The Bucs defensive back jumped in front of Michael Thomas and returned it 36 yards to the New Orleans three-yard line, going close to scoring himself.

Instead, he sets up Tom Brady with perfect touchdown field position.

  18. Postpublished at 00:33 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-6 New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara runs for 11 yards - that's actually the longest run of the game so far. A worry for New Orleans is that Deonte Harris is now dealing with a neck issue and may not be able to come back into the game - he's obviously ripped off two huge punt returns but he's also a great option in the passing game.

  19. field goal

Field goal - Buccaneerspublished at 00:29 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-6 New Orleans Saints

Rob Gronkowski almost found the end zone when Brady fired a bullet into his big tight end but the coverage was excellent and instead the Bucs have to settle for three points from Ryan Succop from 26 yards.

The Saints have done well to shut down any big play opportunities and instead are making Brady dink and dunk down the field and use his running backs for short gains. It's a game of patience.

  20. End of the first quarterpublished at 00:24 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-6 New Orleans Saints

Not much electrifying offence on show as yet with defences on top in the Superdome. Brady and Brees may have over 100 miles of passing in their careers between them but there's been just 83 yards of total offence in this game.

Brady is at least finally getting some movement downfield as they enter Saints territory.
