  1. Postpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 3-13 Kansas City Chiefs

It has been all good news for the Chiefs so far, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes is clearly struggling with what is reported to be a toe injury and he's still on the field but limping a lot.

Steven Pipe: The Chiefs look so strong. The Browns already with a mountain to climb.

David Land: Everyone being too down on the Browns; I don’t think they can actually beat the chiefs, but I think they’ll give a decent account of themselves. They are hugely motivated!

  3. touchdown

Touchdown Chiefspublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 3-13 Kansas City Chiefs

Travis Kelce goes aerial to get over the goal line from the Mahomes pass, and actually gets something of a piggyback from Mecola Hardman to get him into the end zone.

Kelce has been a monster as a scoring tight end, and he almost led the lead in receiving yards this season with another fantastically productive season.

  4. End of the first quarterpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 3-6 Kansas City Chiefs

That first quarter went as quickly as a Chiefs receiver! Just the 6-3 scoreline but plenty of interest already with some big plays and 134 yards of offence from the Chiefs already against just 47 from the Browns.

    Still, it's just a three-point ball game.

  5. Great play!published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 3-6 Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are loaded with big-play stars, and receiver Mecole Hardman is another member of their track team who can burst clear from anywhere, as he does here for 42 yards down the sideline.

    It's so tough to stop.

Cleveland Browns 3-6 Kansas City Chiefs

John Caffeine: Steelers imploded last week. KC won't. I don't see this being close at all despite what some of the pundits are saying.

Andrew Priestley: I know no one likes a playoff blowout, but I can genuinely see Mahomes and the Chiefs dropping 40+ points on the Browns tonight.

  7. field goal

Field goal Brownspublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 3-6 Kansas City Chiefs

Cody Parkey hits an impressive 46-yarder into the wind to half the deficit after a decent first drive from the Browns. Baker Mayfield's first down run was particularly impressive, he's as tough as they come and a real competitor, and looking a lot more like a No.1 Draft pick these days.

  8. Sackpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-6 Kansas City Chiefs

L'Jarius Sneed gets to Baker Mayfield for the first sack of the game - dropping him for an eight-yard loss. The Chiefs just dialing up some pressure now.

Kansas City are letting the Browns know 'we will throw everything at you'. They were just attacking from everywhere and they attacked every inch of the grass - that's a dangerous offense.

  11. Tough runningpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-6 Kansas City Chiefs

There will be plenty of tough running from the Browns tonight and it's having some success, they'll still need the occasional passing success like the third down conversion from tight end Austin Hooper to maintain these drives.

They're not as explosive as the Chiefs, few are, but they could grind down the Kansas City defence with more of this - they'll just need to keep up on the scoreboard.

  12. College carnagepublished at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-6 Kansas City Chiefs

When Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield met in college it was carnage, points all over the place. Mahomes looks in the mood again tonight, what about Mayfield?

  13. Postpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-6 Kansas City Chiefs

Cleveland may well be regretting giving Mahomes the ball first up, perhaps a spell on the sidelines first would have been a better option.

Anyway, the Browns need to respond and a lot will depend on their running game with Nick Chubb and former Chiefs star Kareem Hunt.

  14. touchdown

Touchdown Chiefspublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-6 Kansas City Chiefs

Too easy for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs as they stroll down the field and the quarterback does it himself by dancing in for the score, including a nice little stutter step.

Mahomes has so many weapons but he's so quick on his feet from this range too, as he's shown on a number of occasions including in the Super Bowl.

They miss the extra point though.

  15. Postpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-0 Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are without starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire tonight but that's not stopped them moving the ball at pace early on to enter the red zone. Considering they've scored on 38 of 39 red zone drives in the post-season under Andy Reid that could spell danger for Cleveland.

  16. 'Iconic'published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns @ Kansas City Chiefs (20:05 GMT)

    Jason Bell
Former NFL cornerback for the Houston Texans on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I'm so excited, we've got a good match-up and the Browns want to dethrone Kansas City.

I've played there (at Arrowhead Stadium), it is not going to be packed but they will have fans and they are always as loud as possible.

It's one of those places that is iconic and you feel history and are in the presence of great players that have been there before. You always want to play in this stadium.

If Cleveland is to win they have to do what got them so far - the running game.

  17. Kick-offpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 0-0 Kansas City Chiefs

We're underway at Arrowhead, in front of a crowd as well. Patrick Mahomes with ball in hand first, we'll quickly find out if there is any rustiness after the tree-week break.

  18. Three in a row for Chiefs?published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns @ Kansas City Chiefs (20:05 GMT)

Some worry about teams coming off a break entering the play-offs, but Andy Reid has a great record when coming off a bye week. He's 25-5 after his teams have a week off.

After staging the big game the last two seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs can become the first team to host three straight AFC Championship games if they win tonight.

The only other team to host three straight Championship contests was the Philadelphia Eagles - when coached by....Andy Reid. 'Big Red' knows what he's doing doesn't he?

    Jason Bell

I think Kansas City are going to come out fast and score points. I like what the Browns have done getting to this point but the Chiefs are the best team in the AFC right now.
