  2. Browns forced to puntpublished at 22:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

This is tense now. The NFL always seems to throw up great drama in the play-offs. The Browns convert a fourth-and-one, which is easy for them, but they don't dare go for a fourth-and-11 and they have to punt - just the second of the game.

The Chiefs take over, no Mahomes, but a five-point lead and 4:31 left in the game. What can Chad Henne do now?

  3. Turnover - Brownspublished at 22:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Interception! I've jinxed Chad Henne big time there as he floats a deep ball into the hands of a Browns defender in the end zone.

It's a strange play call and not great execution either. Why they want him throwing the deep ball there is anyone's guess, and it's a high looping rainbow with barely a receiver in sight as Karl Joseph has time to set himself and gather it easily.

Surely a few more safe plays and try a field goal if needed to make it an eight-point game would be a better move? But Andy Reid is calling it as if Mahomes is still in.

    More drama.

  4. Great play!published at 22:41 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Take a bow Chad Henne! He's 35, never played in the play-offs and he's got to stand in for Patrick Mahomes, and he's just zipped a laser on third down to Travis Kelce to keep this drive going.

  5. Meanwhile in New Orleans...published at 22:39 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (23:40 GMT)

Tom Brady has arrived for the big game.

  6. Great play!published at 22:36 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Tyreek Hill leaps and takes a superb catch from Chad Henne for 23 yards - Cleveland are challenging as there's a bit of movement of the ball as he hits the deck. Funny how you can challenge a catch but not a dangerous helmet-to-helmet hit like in the first half.

All the replay proves is that it's an even better catch than we thought! Plus it costs Cleveland a time out.

  7. touchdown

Touchdown - Brownspublished at 22:30 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

And they're in again! The Cleveland comeback continues and of course it's former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt who takes it in from close range. That run game is now taking its toll on the Chiefs defence, and they don't have Mahomes to turn to.

    Over to you Chad Henne..

What a catch from Austin Hooper! Diving, under pressure, and on third down. Browns knocking on the door again.

  10. Postpublished at 22:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Tyrann Mathieu was a bobbled ball away from possibly putting the game to bed then as he almost grabbed a second interception out of the arms of Jarvis Landry.

  11. Momentum shiftpublished at 22:26 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

We're a long way from Kansas City, but you can just sense a big momentum shift in this game. The Browns are running it at will, Kareem Hunt looks fresh and fired up and of course Mahomes is still missing...

  12. 'He was a bit wobbly'published at 22:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

    Jason Bell
Former NFL cornerback for the Houston Texans on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It looks like Patrick Mahomes' head, the crown of his helmet, hit the ground. It was a good tackle but when he got up he was a bit wobbly and I looked at his eyes and he looked a bit confused.

If he clears that concussion protocol he will be back on the field, if not he will stay in the locker room. They will be asking him a lot of questions and they have independent doctors who do that to make sure you're able to go out back on the field.

Everything changes with Mahomes on the field. He is the magic of that offence.

  13. End of third quarterpublished at 22:21 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Huge completion on third-and-four with Mayfield finding Higgins for 17 yards. The Chiefs' defence is just getting a bit niggly now as they realise that if the Browns score here they're in a big fourth quarter fight without their talisman quarterback.

Hopefully Mahomes is OK, but there's surely no way he will return to this game, which was all Kansas City but is now a real contest.

  14. Postpublished at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Nick Chubb gets it! Never really in doubt was it? The Browns are such a strong rushing team you'd be surprised if they couldn't get a yard when they really need it.

  15. Postpublished at 22:17 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Fourth-and-one for the Browns - they've left the offence out on the field looking like they're going for it.

Let's see what they're made of now.

  16. field goal

Field goal - Chiefspublished at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Harrison Butker fires over from his least favourite yardage number of 33 and the Chiefs get more breathing space as they try and clear their heads from that series including the huge Mahomes moment.

  17. Henne in for Chiefspublished at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-19 Kansas City Chiefs

Chad Henne is in as back-up quarterback for the Chiefs, and attempting his first passes in the NFL play-offs, that's quite a drop-off from a Super Bowl winner and MVP.

Darrell Williams helps out his new triggerman with a couple of nice runs to move the sticks.

  18. Mahomes injurypublished at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-19 Kansas City Chiefs

Oh no, this could be a huge moment for not only this game but the Chiefs' play-off chances as Mahomes goes down heavy and can hardly stand when he's lifted up.

Mahomes looked from here at least like he was very groggy, and he's now being led from the field with what surely will be a concussion assessment. We lost Lamar Jackson to concussion yesterday, could we lose Mahomes today?

  19. 'Stick to their game plan'published at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-19 Kansas City Chiefs

    Jason Bell
Former NFL cornerback for the Houston Texans on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Cleveland have defeated themselves and they know that. They have to just go out and execute and good things will happen if they stick to their game plan.

  20. Touchdown - Brownspublished at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 10-19 Kansas City Chiefs

And there it is! Baker Mayfield to Jarvis Landry for a four-yard touchdown.

That was a great drive - eight plays for 77 yards - and had big runs and some crucial catches plus some big decision-making from Mayfield. It's a nice pass to finish as well as Landry finds just enough space in the front corner of the end zone.

    It's now a nine-point game.
