  1. Brady on the sneakpublished at 00:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-6 New Orleans Saints

The Bucs need four downs just to move the chains for the first time, and despite his obvious lack of pace and mobility, I maintain that Brady is one of the best in the business at the QB sneak.

They'll need more than this though to really test the Saints.

  2. Mahomes posts positive updatepublished at 00:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes will be involved in a lot of testing this week as part of the NFL's concussion protocol after being knocked out of the Cleveland Browns game, quite literally.

Not that it means much for his chances of playing next week, but Mahomes is well enough to take to Twitter to praise his back-up Chad Henne and post a positive update to a post wishing him a quick recovery.

  3. field goal

Field goal - Saintspublished at 00:12 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-6 New Orleans Saints

Will Lutz converts from 42 yards as the Saints have to settle for the field goal again, it's a kind of bend-but-don't-break defensive effort from Tampa Bay right now as they've had to defend Drew Brees from some tough field positions.

They need Brady to have a spell on the field now though, with the Bucs yet to win a first down.

  4. Saints moving the stickspublished at 00:06 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-3 New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees looking a lot more comfortable than Tom Brady right now and finding his targets with much more ease. Alvin Kamara is also looking dangerous out of the backfield against the Bucs' top-ranked run defence.

Kamara almost breaks away for a big run but is brought down by Jason Pierre-Paul sticking out a big leg and bringing him down in a tackle more suited to the Premier League than the NFL.

It's not allowed here so that's a tripping penalty on the Bucs.

  5. Great play! Almost...published at 23:58 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-3 New Orleans Saints

Deonte Harris produces another spectacular punt return and this time does make it all the way to the end zone, but there's a flag on the play and his 67-yard effort is comeback back for a penalty on the Saints.

The Bucs have to do better on their special teams.

  6. Sack - Saintspublished at 23:57 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-3 New Orleans Saints

Brady was sacked six times by the Saints in the regular season and he goes down for the first time tonight.

We all know that getting pressure on Brady is key to stopping him, not being the most mobile you have to get him off his timings, make him move about and New Orleans have found a way to do that twice already this season. Tampa Bay don't look to have found an antidote as yet.

  7. field goal

Field goal - Saintspublished at 23:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-3 New Orleans Saints

Will Lutz chips over a 23-yarder as the Saints strike first, but the Bucs will take the moral victory there after the huge run back gave New Orleans great field positions and they will have expected to put seven on the board and not three.

  8. Great play!published at 23:50 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-0 New Orleans Saints

Deonte Harris almost takes the punt all the way to the house as he returns it 54 yards down a left side that had hardly any Bucs there. He strolled beyond the punter who made a typical punter's effort at tackling.

  9. Postpublished at 23:44 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-0 New Orleans Saints

Quick three-and-out for the Bucs as they have to punt it away after Rob Gronkowski can't take in a diving catch.

  10. Kick-offpublished at 23:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-0 New Orleans Saints

We're underway in this clash of the quarterback titans. Tom Brady gets the ball first for the Buccaneers.

  11. Brees to retire?published at 23:40 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (23:40 GMT)

Talk in NFL circles is that this will be Drew Brees' last game at the Superdome as he plans to retire after this season. It's been a tough one for him after suffering a collapsed lung and broken ribs and that will have taken its toll on the 42-year-old.

Funnily enough the retirement talk about Tom Brady has gone away this season, he looks in better shape now than he did 20 years ago.

  12. Third time lucky?published at 23:37 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (23:40 GMT)

The season started for these two with a game at the Superdome against each other, and now it will end for one of them right here. After two heavy defeats to the Saints, Tom Brady has been settling into life with his new team as the season progressed, and Antonio Brown has made a big difference to an already stacked set of receiving options.

The Saints, though, have Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara back playing together, and you'll go a long way to find a better wide receiver/running back combination in the entire league.

  13. Battle of the 40-somethingspublished at 23:35 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (23:40 GMT)

42-year-old Drew Brees will face 43-year-old Tom Brady for the first time in the play-offs, with these two future Hall of Famers the top two all-time in a number of quarterback stats including touchdown throws.

Brees holds the head-to-head advantage 5-2, including two big victories already this season, with the Saints crushing the Bucs 34-23 and 38-3 in their NFC South contests.

Brady is the GOAT though, with six Super Bowls and record for most play-off games (42), wins (31), passing yards (11,769) and passing touchdowns (75) of any player in NFL history.

These two will both go down as legends, but only one can go through tonight to set-up another huge match-up with another future Hall of Famer as Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay packers lay in wait.

  14. 100 miles of passingpublished at 23:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (23:40 GMT)

Drew Brees and Tom Brady between them account for over 100 miles of passing yardage in the NFL. Just one of a number of crazy stats the two living legends can boast.

  15. One more to go..published at 23:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (23:40 GMT)

Right, well I was going to say we've saved the best until last but after that finish at Arrowhead that's out of the window now.

While we get ready for a week of Patrick Mahomes concussion watch, we now need to turn our attentions to the small matter of Drew Brees and Tom Brady battling it out for the right to face Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau. It's big names all the way!

  16. Reid makes historypublished at 23:19 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

A nice piece of history for head coach Andy Reid as the Kansas City Chiefs are the first team to ever host the AFC Championship game three years running, the only other team to do it in the NFL are the Philadelphia Eagles with the NFC Championship game - under a certain Andy Reid!

What an effort from 'Big Red' who is in his eighth Championship game in 22 seasons as a head coach. He made four in a row with Philadelphia and now a hat-trick for the Chiefs. He knows how to build stable, successful sides.

  17. Full-time - Chiefs go to AFC Championshippublished at 23:10 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

What a finish that was, you just can't beat the NFL play-offs! Many had the Chiefs winning this, absolutely nobody had back-up quarterback Chad Henne sealing the win with a long third-down run and a shock fourth-and-inches pass play.

The Chiefs will host the AFC Championship for the third year running when they welcome the Buffalo Bills next week for a place in the Super Bowl.

  18. Great play! Chiefs winpublished at 23:06 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

It was fourth-and-inches and the Chiefs shock everyone, even Tony Romo, by going for it out of the shotgun and Chad Henne fires a short pass for Tyreek Hill for the first down and the game!

  20. Sackpublished at 23:00 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

Cleveland Browns 17-22 Kansas City Chiefs

Myles Garrett drags Chad Henne down for yet another twist in this incredible game and it's now third-and-14 as we hit the two-minute warning.

Odds are now that they'll have to punt the ball away and leave Cleveland with the ball and about a minute and 20 seconds to pinch victory. Don't go anywhere.
