  1. Chelsea to thrash Leicester?published at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Chelsea v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    Former Premier League striker

After beating Southampton last time out, this feels like another 'gimme' for Chelsea, and just when they needed it too.

With the two teams immediately above them, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, playing each other on Saturday, Chelsea could end up as high as third if they win this and, let's face it, they are very likely to take the three points.

I am sure Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca will say lots of nice things about his former club but he will be absolutely desperate to pump them here.

I think they will win easily, too. I feel sorry for Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy because he has been dealt a terrible hand, and in the background there is frustration from the Foxes fans about the running of the club.

It feels like there was muddled thinking from the club's owners to appoint Van Nistelrooy, based on the fact he had beaten them while he was in caretaker charge of Manchester United.

Lots of managers could have got the job if that was the criteria. I would even have fancied my Lincoln City team from a few years back to have beaten Leicester this season so I could have ended up manager there.

I guess that shows any unhappy fans that things could always be worse.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-0

  2. An entertaining draw?published at 13:55 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    Former Premier League striker

There has been talk about Tottenham wanting Andoni Iraola as their next manager if they sack Ange Postecoglou. His stock is very high at the moment, but the Bournemouth boss will just be focused on trying to secure a top-five finish.

Spurs' season is really all about how they do in the Europa League now rather than their league position.

They do have some of their big-hitters like Dominic Solanke, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero coming back from injury, but the question is how match-sharp will they be, and also how much Thursday's tie with AZ Alkmaar will take out of them.

Bournemouth have already beaten Spurs once this season, winning 1-0 on the south coast in December.

The Cherries play forward quickly and I am expecting them to cause Spurs more problems this time. There will definitely be goals in this, but I reckon Tottenham will score a couple too.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-2

  3. 'Ruud is a friend of mine'published at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Chelsea v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was asked for his thoughts on current Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy: "Ruud is a friend of mine. We played together and then after we have been in contact. When Leicester called, he thought to call me and we had a chat. I said to him that Leicester is a fantastic club, run by fantastic people. I have said many times, I'm 30 years in football and it was probably the best people in football that I'd met. So I told him many good, positive things about Leicester."

  4. Ominous signs for Leicesterpublished at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Chelsea v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

Leicester have the lowest expected goals total of any side in the Premier League this season (24.6), while only Liverpool (61.9) have a higher xG than Chelsea (55) so far this term.

Ominous signs for the Foxes while encouraging signs for Chelsea.

  5. Bournemouth have 'been really good'published at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou talks highly of Bournemouth and is in no doubt that his Tottenham side have to "play well" to get a positive result today.

"They've been really good, and they were last year. Aggressive with and without the ball. They have some really good players who are developing. We have a clear objective that we need to play well if we want to get a result."

  6. 'A real energy about Bournemouth'published at 13:50 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Sue Smith
Former England international on BBC Radio 5 Live

I have been so impressed with Bournemouth.

The way they've coped with injuries, we have not spoke about it. At one point they had no strikers and it was like Andoni Iraola found a way to solve that.

There's a real energy about them.

  7. Can Postecoglou turn season around?published at 13:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs fan Chris Cowlin spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast about whether Ange Postecoglou can turn their season around.

"The only positive is that it was only 1-0 last night because it could have been more. Hopefully, when Spurs are back in London next week, we can go through.

"The next round is going to be very difficult if we get there against Ajax or Frankfurt but you've got to be on your game, you cannot be using excuses about their injuries, because the team that was out there last night to face Alkmaar should have had more than enough quality to win that game."

  8. 'Postecoglou is an excellent manager'published at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea & Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ange Postecoglou is an excellent manager but he is definitely under a huge amount of pressure.

What happens is when the fans turn on the club and Daniel Levy, he's obviously not going to go and he makes a change in the manager. But I am absolutely delighted that has not happened.

What Ange has always said about the injuries affecting them, it is absolutely correct. But what for me was really key was that when he got a couple of players back, the performances and results changed.

Guglielmo Vicario had a massive impact on his first game back and James Maddison was huge as well. That was really important and that gave him justification that the impact of players they were missing was significant.

I feel for Leicester at the minute - they're poor at both ends of the pitch.

They are very reliant on Jamie Vardy, but at times he's very isolated.

Ruud van Nistelrooy came in and inherited a squad who's maybe not good enough for the Premier League.

  10. 'No point about thinking about Thursday night'published at 13:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to Sky Sports about Christian Romero and Dominic Solanke being available: "Massive for us, two important players. Dom [Solanke] got a knock the other night, but recovered really quickly.

"Romero has been training with us and we have been waiting to bring him in."

On the performance needed after losing to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League: "Our eyes are firmly set on today.

"There's no point about thinking about Thursday night [second leg against AZ Alkmaar].

"We need to be better than that and then we can start thinking about Thursday night."

Man City and Arsenal lose one or two players, and it's quickly classed as "an injury crisis". Spurs lose half the squad for 3+ months, including the majority of the starting 11, and it's "not an excuse" for poor performances. Why?

  12. 'El Khannouss needs to be more consistent'published at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

Bilal El Khannouss is fun to watch but there's still a lot of work to do, certainly in terms of consistency. The talent is there obviously. At times, against Spurs for example, I think he does it. But they need him to be efficient really.

But when you are fighting against relegation in the Premier League, it's not just about nutmegs and tricks with the ball. Everything you do needs to be efficient. To be fair, efficiency is what Leicester is missing in both boxes.

He is still young and it is a lot of pressure to be under at that age. But he will have to be much better than he has been recently.

  13. 'If you want to be in that race you have to win'published at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think everything is very tight.

"A win, not a win, makes a big difference in the standings. We are playing Tottenham which is always difficult.

"We will have to be very good if we want to win."

On changes: "We are coming from the Cup and it's a demanding game. Also thinking about the way both teams play, probably in the last minutes of the game it will be open.

"The ones who come from the bench will be very important and I hope we can make a difference at the end."

On chasing Europe: "I think we are doing well, but the problem is it's not finished - we have to continue.

"The things we are competing against they're having good results. There's a lot of games, if you want to be in that race you have to win."

"We are in a good moment and I hope we can perform."

Say what you want about Ange ball and Spurs' injury crisis, but it's painfully clear to see that a huge part of the problem is with the captain. There are loads of great things about Son - hes a good example off the pitch for one - but he is not a good captain. Then look who steps in when Son isn't selected? Romero? Are we serious? Spurs need an actual captain if their fortunes are to turn.

  15. Kluivert loves playing awaypublished at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

Only Mohamed Salah (16) has scored more away goals in the Premier League this season than Justin Kluivert (10), with the Dutchman’s 10 goals on the road the most ever by a Bournemouth player in a single top-flight campaign.

  16. 'Maresca doesn't get a ton of credit'published at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Chelsea v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Enzo Maresca doesn't necessarily get a ton of credit from people. But in reality, it seems like the players understand it and can play to it. When they do, they score a ton of goals. But the snag for them is that the squad is so young.

When you have a young squad, you have the highs and then you get the lows. As time goes on, you expect their young defenders to understand situations and manage them better.

  17. Bournemouth have to be 'very good'published at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Andoni Iraola will be confident his Bournemouth side can get a result at Tottenham but knows they have to be "very good": "Whenever they are playing well they are difficult to stop. It's true that they've had different games - games where they've played really well, games where they haven't been as good. This is a place where if you want to get a result you have to be very good."

The race for the Champions League is certainly hotting up.

Man City's loss at Nottingham Forest yesterday means that three points for Enzo Maresca's side today will send them up to fourth in the table with 10 games to go.

    Chelsea v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The question mark over Wesley Fofana is the injury issues he has had since joining Chelsea. It's about how long he can sustain a run in the team. I know it must be extremely difficult for him. It's about trying to building that continuity and building that relationship with Levi Colwill.
