1UP Mickelson/Kuchar v Kaymer/Garcia (3)
Kuchar misses the green left at the short par-four fifth, Mickelson misses right and long. Garcia's scurries through to the first fringe...

What's the weather like there Jack? Nippy? In the last two days we've had tweets from Russia, Phuket, the Scottish Highlands and even a couple on their way to the Arctic Circle.
Remember, in the spirit of the Ryder Cup, we'd love to know what makes you fist pump in celebration?

You know when it comes down to it Rory can get going and get it up a notch, and we expect him to. We are not worried at all. They are all playing amazing golf in this foursome.

There is something a little bit deflated about Reed and Spieth. Westwood and Willett are right in it and it's only really Mickelson and Kuchar who are up there.
All Darren Clarke wants to hear is silence around the course.
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters (6)
The shortest of the four drives on seven is around 320 yards. Imagine playing with these guys when you top one 35 yards off the tee. Dustin Johnson managed 346 off the tee peg. Someone will make birdie here, Brooks Koepka floats in to 12ft, that's closer than Rory McIlroy and Thomas Pieters.
Dustin Johnson could probably putt this he's so close to the green...not a bad wedge but not all that close.

John McEnerney: Euro88 Ireland beating England 1-0 in our first match in a major comp! Great cross by Sansom onto the head of Ray Houghton! Yes.
Andy Mellor: When Neo finally believes against Agent Smith in the Matrix and lays the smack down!
Kevin Vaughan: Newport Town Reserves winning 16-1 this afternoon led to a lot of fist pumping
Reed/Spieth v Rose/Stenson 1UP (3)
Reed pops in for birdie at three, Rose has got a very short one to halve the hole - these gimmes are getting shorter and shorter - and in it goes, Europe stay one up.
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters 2UP (6)
The heavyweight match reaches the seventh, water all the way down the right, Rory McIlroy goes way left.
Dustin Johnson with that lash of a swing. Monumental hitting, some 40 yards short of the green.
A tough hole this. Justin Rose went through the back yesterday and found the splash.
1UP Mickelson/Kuchar v Kaymer/Garcia (3)
Rose from the sand at the third and that's a peach - but the Americans have a putt for eagle. Over at three, Garcia has missed from a couple of feet, ball sliding off the face. Not nice to watch, Europe go one down.
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters 2UP (6)
Thomas Pieters takes his time, and confidently strokes home the putt from seven feet. Dustin Johnson's was a gimme, so that's all square and keeps the Europeans two up in this one.
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters 2UP (5)
Brooks Koepka with a wedge from just over 130 yards finds the back of the green, Dustin Johnson unsurprisingly starts a little closer. Ooh, and he'll like that. Nestling up nice and close to the pin, around two feet I'd say.
Rory McIlroy didn't like that third shot as soon he hit it, it skips on past the flag from 40 yards or so but Thomas Pieters follows up and is much happier. Not as close as Johnson, but he'll fancy it...

Sitting on the sixth, the sun freckling faces, the grassy banks heaving, these wonderfully seesaw fourballs coming down the course, roars rolling down the fairways as putts drop or irons parachute in, it is hard to imagine how this golfing scene could be improved.
1UP Mickelson/Kuchar v Kaymer/Garcia
Kaymer with a long downhiller for a half at the third... horseshoes out, meaning Garcia has a 10-footer to stop from going one down... horseshoes out again... Mickelson won that with a dream of a pitch to within a foot.
A/S Moore/Holmes v Willett/Westwood (4)
Now then, straight up to the green on the par-three fourth and it looks like Danny Willett and Ryan Moore with the best chance of a birdie.
Moore goes firsts, and skirts the cup from around 10 feet, offering up a chance for Willett, but the Englishman goes left from a similar distance and that's another hole halved.
Fred Funk
Former US Ryder Cup player
You could hear a couple of mumblings and rumblings up there. We have to do everything we can to keep the crowd in check, but that's going to be more difficult as the day goes on.
Reed/Spieth v Rose/Stenson 1UP (2)
Reed has got his approach close at the second and Stenson has matched him, all to play for back there. Spieth with about 10 feet, looks dead straight... boom, birdie. If he could find his driving, he'd be unstoppable. Stenson for the half and in it rolls...
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters 2UP (5)
Des Smyth
Former Ryder Cup vice captain on BBC Radio 5 live
That is fantastic. They have deployed that Ryder Cup play where they put one guy in to get the birdie and relieve the other guy for a free putt - and boy, was that some putt too for eagle.
