JB Holmes adds touch to his typical power to sink a straight putt over 12ft and break Danny Willett's heart. The Willett chip in is only good enough for a half.

Reed/Spieth v Rose/Stenson
Last game about to go out and it's Rose of England to hit first. Away she goes, straight down the middle, and Stenson nestles up behind him. Right, time to find out if US captain Love has made a mistake by putting Reed and Spieth out again... not on that evidence, Reed bang middle again, as if Spieth...

Offside, lino...!
USA 6½-5½ Europe
European captain Darren Clarke speaking to Sky Sports about Garcia and Cabrera-Bello's battling half point: "It was huge, massive to have that heart. The two guys are just bouncing, but they worked hard.
"Every other pairing will be trying to do the same thing, to push it that bit further for the team was fantastic."
On his second session pairings, he said: "Strong - you look at that list and they are very experienced, out there and wanting to play. They are ready to go. They were all comfortable to play five if asked to do so."
A/S Moore/Holmes v Willett/Westwood (1)
Danny Willett just needs something to get his Ryder Cup back under a positive cloud. He stands over a chip behind the second green and quickly realises this is close... this is close... it's in. A birdie from nowhere. His right arm is aloft, fist clenched, a shout or two audible from his mouth. Now then Danny, kick on from here yes?
Will it win the hole? JB Holmes and Ryan Moore need an answer...
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters 1UP (2)
It looks unlikely Rory McIlroy will win a point on three. From the tee to the woods and the woods to the sand. It's a par five but with Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson both being monster hitters, one of them will surely make a four.
Koepka also in a tricky spot though, he discusses with his caddie and they agree on 235 yards to the front edge. "No cameras," says someone. With a hack the ball is released and it's not threatening the dancefloor like some drunken uncle at a wedding. Dustin Johnson will have 10ft for birdie, Koepka chips on and leave six feet for his own birdie. Thomas Pieters is in close too. A possible birdie party on three.
Mickelson/Kuchar v Kaymer/Garcia
David Leadbetter
Leading golf coach on BBC Radio 5 live
The only thing I can think is Martin Kaymer didn't have a good day yesterday and Darren wants to get him out there and get him some confidence.
The team captains and vice captains know what they are doing, so we will see what happens later in the day.
Mickelson/Kuchar v Kaymer/Garcia
Kaymer from the white stuff at the first and that's a corker, right into the heart of the green. Kuchar from the fairway and he very nearly sticks it in - that's a gimme... follow that, Sergio - he very nearly tops it, only for it to spin back. It's a putt out, with Mickelson also close.
This guy seems to be keeping a low profile. For all his glory, he's not set the Ryder Cup alight as a player, just 13 wins from 33 matches.

Mickelson/Kuchar v Kaymer/Garcia
Right, the third fourball about to get under way and it's Garcia to hit first... nicely done, just on the edge of the fairway. Kaymer, in wretched form yesterday, finds sand, before Mickelson, who has barely hit a fairway all week, finds one this time. Kuchar to hit last and he cuts off the corner and is safely on the short stuff.

Carl Carritt: Hell yeah Rory. Boom.
Carl puts a curse on Rory, who goes miles left off the third tee.
D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters 1UP (2)
The second hole is one where every group should at least deliver a birdie really, very accommodating. Rory McIlroy has a long putt for his, outside chance. He looks to have a nice pace on this... what a putt. The two fists are clenched. Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka can't beat the cup with their efforts and that's one up for Europe.

We love this image Corie. It seems there may be a few cross words this weekend. Few people can carry off such attire but we think you both get it right.

Remarkable on the 18th the Garcia/Cabrera-Bello and Spieth/Reed ding-dong came to its denouement. A perfect autumn sky, the only blemish on the blue a solitary white vapour trail; a huge crowd with hands over mouths and knees knocking; a pairing who had been four down with six to play coming storming back to halve the match - and almost win it. All the talk at Ryder Cups is about momentum, and with that stolen half it is now Europe with tails up and eyes bright.

Haydn Jones: I think Europe can smell another win now that it's 6 1/2 5 1/2.
Marcus Richards: Sensational golf from Garcia & Cabrera-Bello to come back from four down with six to play to steal half a point. Momentum changer.
Moore/Holmes v Willett/Westwood
Ryan Moore and Danny Willett will have long birdie putts at the first. Lee Westwood is in position A on the fairway, he has to make this count. A solid shot but nothing sensational, similar range to the others. JB Holmes to steal the show? Meh, not quite. All four men keeping their good cards for later in the round perhaps.
A/S D Johnson/Koepka v McIlroy/Pieters (1)

It's a shortish par four, dogleg left, Rory has overcut his a bit and is in the sand, Dustin Johnson in good nick, so to Brooks Koepka and Thomas Pieters.
Just the 19 majors between them...
