    1UP Reed/Spieth v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello (17)

Garcia on the par-three 17th, playing 175 yards. Eight iron, great length, just on the apron, Cabrera-Bello will be putting across the green... great effort from Spieth, right in the guts of the green.

Unbelievable, amazing turnaround. It just goes to show how exciting this game is. The momentum is definitely with the Europeans at the moment.

Hearts in mouth time then, it just needed half a revolution and that was into the hole from Reed.

Zach gets a horrible flyer on the 18th, as we go back to Garcia on 16... MADE IT! This Spanish pair fancy this, Reed and Spieth came out flaming and have turned into fag ash down the stretch. Over at 18, Rose hammers home Europe's advantage...

    2UP Reed/Spieth v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello (15)

Spieth on in four at 16, but Reed hasn't got an easy putt for birdie. Better from Cabrera-Bello... here's Reed, taking an age as ever - this partnership have been glacial - before curling his putt just short. Garcia with an opening...

    Walker/Z Johnson v Rose/Wood 1UP (17)

Spieth leaks his tee shot right at 16, as Jimmy Walker sprays his tee shot at 18. Wood of Bristol cocks the hammer and joins Walker way right...

  7. Postpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Walker/Z Johnson v Rose/Wood 1UP (17)

Walker with a nice chip at 17, patching up Zach Johnson's poor work off the tee. But Wood has a lungun to win the match... didn't hit it hard enough, comes up a foot or so short. Zach with a knee-knocker for the half and he smacks it in. This will be the first match of the week to go down the 18th.

    Walker/Z Johnson v Rose/Wood 1UP (16)

Zach Johnson on tee at 17, pin back-left... that's not clever at all, he's put his partner right in it. Rose with a chance to make amends for his slip-up at the 16th... over she goes, Europe in the box seat.

  11. 'USA feeling the nerves'published at 17:45 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    3UP Reed/Spieth v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello (14)

    David Leadbetter
Leading golf coach on BBC Radio 5 live

It's getting very exciting and who knows, the nerves might be playing a role here, even for the Americans at this late stage.

I'm sure Phil Mickelson will be given a rest this afternoon and there has even been talk of giving Spieth and Reed a rest, which would be amazing.

Hopefully the Spaniards will be playing together again, they have actually played well this morning.

  12. Postpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Walker/Z Johnson v Rose/Wood 1UP (16)

Reed from the drop zone and it's a decent effort, but the Spanish pair should get down in two from there. On the 16th, Rose has an eight-footer for par, with the Americans poised to swoop... the Englishman makes it disappear, which leaves Zach Johnson with a tricky three-footer... unerring, Europe's lead cut to one with two to play...

  13. 'We're going to find a way'published at 17:42 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Snedeker/Koepka beat Fitzpatrick/Stenson 3&2

US player Brandt Snedeker reacts to his win with Brooks Koepka on Sky Sports: "I kept telling Brooks 'we're going to find a way'. "It's not going to be pretty, alternate shots never is. These crowds are unbelievable right now. Brooks did awesome today and that putt on 16, I get goosebumps thinking about it, that's just awesome stuff."

  14. Splash!published at 17:42 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

Cabrera-Bello safely on in two at 15. Meanwhile, Spieth is behind a tree... he deliberately tries to skip it across the water but it drowns after the first bounce. That game not quite dead yet...

  16. Splash!published at 17:38 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

Reed has gone awry off the tee at 15, the Americans wobbling a little bit down the stretch. Over at 16, Rose has found the drink with his second, the Americans having laid up... Walker it is with a wedged approach and that's a little peach, it's looking like Europe's lead will be cut to one with two to play.

  17. Postpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    3UP Reed/Spieth v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello (14)

Garcia can't make that longun disappear at 14, which means America have a chance of the win... Reed just misses, the USA remain three up.

  19. 'Birdies from all over the park'published at 17:31 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Snedeker/Koepka beat Stenson/Fitzpatrick 3&2

    Des Smyth
Former Ryder Cup vice captain on BBC Radio 5 live

Fitzpatrick has a had a good debut. I have to say I have been impressed with him today.

Birdies from the USA broke the back of the European side, and they came from all over the park.

    Snedeker/Koepka beat Stenson/Fitzpatrick 3&2

Brandt Snedeker and Brooks Koepka get it done on 16. They deserve it, Snedeker in particular looks like he's going to be tough to beat. He finds answers from difficult spots consistently. Harsh on Matt Fitzpatrick on Ryder Cup debut. There can be fewer more invasive tests of a golfer.  The US lead 6-4.
