    US 10½-5½ Europe

Thanks Gillian. "Mission slightly possible". I like it. One thing certain is Charley Hull is showing no signs of that wrist injury. She stays two up on Brittany Lang with a tidy job on the fifth hole.

Stacy Lewis is the only American ahead in her match at the moment and the final two players have just got under way.

Creamer v Hall All square (After 9)

Brilliant from Hall. She's standing well below the level of the hole for her chip in a difficult lie but hits the ball high and within a few feet.

Still, a chance for Creamer now to get her nose back in front.

The American takes an age preparing. Is it there? Is it there? No! The ball swings around the back of the cup.

Hall gets away with a halved hole as they start the return for home.

Creamer v Hall All square (After 8)

What can Georgia Hall do in her intense battle against Paula Creamer? The 21-year-old has fought her way back to all-square as they reach the ninth.

That's not great and it's getting worse. Stop ball, stop! Hall finds the very front of the green but the back spin takes the ball down the slope and heading in the direction of the water.

Thankfully for Europe it pulls up just short of the stream in the rough. Still, Hall is faced with a really difficult chip with Creamer in close.

  5. Reid back all squarepublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

Kerr v Reid All square (After 8)

More red gone. Mel Reid was two down not long ago against the US' Cristie Kerr but now she is back all square. That meant something. A big shout as the putt drops and a stare to the crowd.

    Europe are on the charge.

    Wie v Masson 3UP (After 4)

Caroline Masson is the hottest player on the course right now. Birdie, birdie, eagle and she is now three up on Michelle Wie.

Carlota Ciganda isn't far behind you know. The Spaniard's lengthy putt nestles into the cup and she moves two up after three holes on Brittany Lincicome.

Over on the fourth Charley Hull's opponent Brittany Lang has the length of the green left just to tie the hole. Can she do it? The pace looks good. Will it drop? No! Hull moves further ahead.

The United States are now only up in two matches and Europe five. Misson Possible?

Still very early stages but the home crowds are being quietened by a much improved European putting display. Plenty of blue on the board providing momentum for mission impossible.

Creamer v Hall All square (After 8)

You can tell the United States fans are getting a little edgy. Huge cheers greet a short Paula Creamer putt which only secures a half on the eighth. "U.S.A U.S.A" are the chants. We haven't heard that for a while.

But there's more news of blue...

  10. Surge of blue on the leaderboardpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

    Lincicome v Ciganda 1UP (After 1)

Wow. Within the space of two minutes the complexion changes. Three putts drop for the team in blue and yellow. Charley Hull, Karine Icher and Carlota Ciganda all move ahead.

Europe are now up in six matches. Where did that come from? After that last entry I suddenly look very silly.

    Wie v Masson 2UP (After 4)

Another putt from Caroline Masson finds the bottom of the hole and she is well on top against Michelle Wie. She's 2UP against the major champion.

For now it is even on the leaderboard with Europe up in two matches and the United States up in two with the rest all square.

The bad news is that's nowhere near good enough for Europe with Annika Sorenstram's team trailing so heavily overall.

Problems on the seventh because as Paula Creamer was putting a sprinkler has burst into operation. A rules official is standing with foot over the jet to help prevent flooding. They are getting soaked.

  13. Hull back to all squarepublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

Lang v Hull All square (After 2)

    What was I saying?

Charley Hull slips back to all square after fluffing a chip on the second hole.

And what's going on here?! Georgia Hall is about to putt on the seventh and a sprinkler has started up on the green. That crowd are soaked and for now Hall is going to wait.

    Confusion all-round.

    Wie v Masson 1UP (After 3)

After a strong start from the US team, Europe have had an excellent 20 minutes. Hull and Hall both won holes a moment ago and Caroline Masson has now moved one up on Michelle Wie.

That'll help too! Mel Reid holes from 20 feet to pull one back on Cristie Kerr. That match is now only 1UP in the American's favour.

A bit of momentum for Europe?

    Thompson v Nordqvist 3 UP (After 7)

A bit of tactics being played on the seventh green. Anna Nordqvist makes Lexi Thompson hole her short putt and then the American seems as though she has done the same for Nordqvist's even shorter putt before conceding after the Swede had lined it up.

It must be said this year's Solheim Cup has been played in great spirits after the tears and controversy of the 2015 edition.

    Lang v Hull 1UP (After 1)

Hull has a putt just inside the distance of Lang's for birdie and to win the hole. Never. In. Doubt. Finally a little more blue on the European side of the board. Charley Hull is wearing some blue strapping on that wrist injury but no sign of any issues on the first.

And now Georgia Hall holes a monster putt on the sixth! She is loving the battle out there, marching after her ball and clenching her fist to the crowd. She's back all square against Paula Creamer.

    Lang v Hull

Despite that chip-in from Georgia Hall it is still very much going the United States' way today. Europe need to win nine of these 12 matches to win remember.

England's Charley Hull who has struggled with a wrist injury this week is under way in her match against Brittany Lang and the American has a 15-foot putt for birdie on the first.

Missed. The ball just stays wide on the left of the hole. How can Hull respond?

  19. Hall closes the gappublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

    1UP Creamer v Hall (After 5)

Oh my word that is brilliant.

Georgia Hall holes a chip from the rough at the back of the green on the fifth. She was faced with an awful shot and the ball was picking up pace all the way before rattling off the pin and into the hole. That halves Hall's deficit.

This match has seen more fist pumps than a Rafa Nadal five-setter. This time it is Hall getting the crowd going.

    2UP Kerr v Reid (After 4)

This is not going to plan. In the third match of the day Cristie Kerr has moved two up on Mel Reid after holing a 20-foot putt.

Reid couldn't even watch. She turned away as her American opponent struck the putt. The screams from the crowd tell her everything she needs to know.

Up at the front Lexi Thompson has also pulled one back against Anna Nordqvist.
