Phew! Well, what a week again at Augusta National, which again has come up trumps with drama, intrigue and a cracking finish.

We thought we'd never get here at one stage as the rain was lashing down, but credit to the grounds crew for keeping the course in fantastic shape and to the players for performing in some horrendous conditions.

Biggest congratulations to Jon Rahm of course, bringing the Green Jacket back to Spain on Seve's birthday of all days to give us another wonderful Masters story.

Thanks to everyone who followed us throughout the Masters, and we'll be back in major action in just over a month when the US PGA Championship takes place at Oak Hill in New York from May 18-21 - so join us then!

Jon Rahm on his first Masters win:

"I wasn't sure how [the emotions] were going to come until my third shot on the 18th. The history of the game is one of the big reasons why I play. If it wasn't for that Ryder Cup in 1997 (at Valderrama in Spain where the late Seve Ballesteros was the winning captain), I never would have played the game, so for me to get it done on his birthday - it's incredibly meaningful. It was a testament to him."

"I thought eight was a key birdie. I didn't expect that bogey on nine. Phil and Jordan were making birdies and finishing strong so making sure I didn't put myself in a difficult spot in 10 and 11 was key.

"It's not really one moment but if I had to pick one, hitting that perfect draw on 13 was the start of it.

What did Jose Maria Olazabal say?

"I can't quite remember - he said he hoped it was the first of many more, we both mentioned something about Seve and if you had given us both 10 seconds we would have both ended up crying.

"I like to see history repeating itself Ollie won his second in 1999, and my first start was the year Sergio [Garcia] won, and I guess Spaniards like winning on Easter Sunday so Mr Chairman you know what to do for me and keep putting it on Easter Sunday."

Joe: 2nd year in a row that The Masters champion has had a four putt. (Scottie Scheffler on the 72nd last year, Jon Rahm on the very first hole this year).

Andrew: Jon Rahm gave the rest of the field a 4-putt double-bogey headstart on the first hole of the tournament on Thursday, also played on the bad half of the draw weather-wise and still eased home with multiple shots to spare. This won’t be the only Green Jacket he wins.

Brooks Koepka gave his immediate reaction to Sky Sports:

"Kinda ho-hum. I didn't play that great. I hit some good shots and just ended up in some terrible spots. Then at the end trying to make birdies - it's tough.

"I've known I've been healthy - it was just about showing everyone else. I feel good, been playing good and I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and I'll be fine."

    What is the motivation now?

"Second is not very fun so that's motivation in itself."

    Jon Rahm wins the Masters

Jon Rahm's dominant victory at Augusta National was not always so straightforward, as plenty of players hinted at making a push.

While the Spaniard was staring down Brooks Koepka, the likes of Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson were making moves to try and pinch he Green Jacket.

    Rahm -12 (69)

Jon Rahm continues Spain's love affair with the Masters, as he joins Seve Ballesteros, Jose Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia in winning Green Jackets.

Rahm's also the first European to win the Masters and US Open - and he's not done just yet is he!

    Rahm -12 (69)

If you can remember back to Thursday, Jon Rahm started this tournament with a four-putt on the very first green to open up his Masters bid with a double bogey.

But my how he's responded - battling through the worst of the conditions to eventually finish top of the pile.

And how rare is it to do that? Well, he's just the second player to ever start the Masters with a double bogey but go on to win the Green Jacket - the other being the great Sam Snead back in 1952!

  12. 'He's a Spanish genius'published at 00:33 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Rahm -12 (69)

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team

Rahm wears his heart on his sleeve. You are under no illusions. You know what he's thinking. And also the way he plays, it's exciting - so much power, the excitement of his short game.

He's a Spanish genius and when he putts like that and his game is at the very top, he is hard to beat, and he shows his emotion. People like to see that.

That's a final round of 69 by Jon Rahm to take advantage of Brooks Koepka just faltering over the final 18 holes as he could only shoot 75 to finish in a tie for second alongside Phil Mickelson after his last Sunday surge.

What a finish to a tremendous tournament!

The putt goes in, the crowd go wild and Jon Rahm collects his second major title and becomes the fourth Spaniard to win the Masters.

A huge smile breaks out on Rahm's face, as he firstly celebrates with the crowd and then with his wife and family.

Jose Maria Olazabal then gets an almighty hug from the new champion as he strides back up the hill to go and sign his scorecard, with the occasional shake of the head almost in disbelief at what he's just achieved.

  16. Ollie on the 18thpublished at 00:21 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -12 (17)

Rahm's wife and sons are around the 18th green, as is two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal as he prepares to welcome his compatriot into a very special club.

There'll also likely be a tear shed by Ollie with this being the 40th anniversary of the great Seve Ballesteros' second Masters win - and also what would've been his 66th birthday.

Some things were meant to be.

  17. Job nearly donepublished at 00:19 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -12 (17)

Jon Rahm never really messes about, he takes a quick look and easy as you like flips a wedge over the bunker and stops it around three feet from the hole.

A smile finally breaks out on the Spaniard's face and he gives his caddie a high-five, then removes his cap and receives a standing ovation from the patrons around the 18th green as he walks up to collect his second major title.

  18. Rahm recoverypublished at 00:17 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -12 (17)

It's something we've all done on the golf course when we duff our tee shot, pull out a long iron and quickly have to just get it moving forwards.

We've not all done it on the final hole of the Masters though - and Rahm keeps his head to just power an iron up around the green, leaving a chip over a bunker and then leave himself with three or four putts to win the Masters depending on what Koepka does.

  19. Hovland finishes uppublished at 00:16 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Hovland -6 (74), Cantlay -3 (75)

Viktor Hovland's smile is a bit of a rueful one as he knocks in a short one for par on the last. He's tapping his putter with his fist while he waits for playing partner Patrick Cantlay to finish up (and judging by the length of time it takes Cantlay to line up a putt, he could be tapping for a while).

Finally, Cantlay is in and they can shake hands and shuffle off to leave the way clear for the champion...

  20. The final hole..published at 00:13 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -12 (17)

Scottie Scheffler had a big lead and four-putted the last 12 months ago, and now Jon Rahm has a four-stroke advantage and has clattered his tee shot into the trees on 18, and it's rebounded back to finish up just about 150 yards from the tee!

It's not easy winning the Masters you know...
