InvestingDad: Brooks Koepka is playing the 12th and most of this round like a man who isn't used to the pressures of the 4 round game/PGA tour anymore.

Andrew: If Jon Rahm was to find the water at any point on the back-9, then there is now a plethora of players waiting in the wings.

Adrian: Hope Jon Rahm wins, on Seve's birthday. Failing that, anybody so long as it's not Patrick Reed.

Dennis: Disastrous for the sport if any of LIV GOLF players win at Augusta

SuperSpoonerman: Don't mind an LIV player winning but if so I hope they don't all get together on the 18th. Crass. But crass is what Greg Norman is about, sadly.

People are getting out of their seats and clapping for Sam Bennett. Basically he's a professional in everything but name at the end of the day and you can see he is going to have a fabulous career - and let's hope it's on the PGA Tour!

  3. Special from Rahmpublished at 23:16 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

Oh my that's special from Rahm! He's just by the trees on the right but plays a high fade that lands on the green, spins right and tracks down the hill and finishes up in kick-in birdie range.

Brooks was deeper in the trees down the right of the 14th, but he manages to scuttle a shot under the branches and run it up onto the green and in pretty decent shape actually. An outside birdie chance.

  4. A couple of birdiespublished at 23:09 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -11 (13)

Koepka is a bit wild with his stab down the hill and at one point Rae's Creek comes into the equation, but it stays dry and then he fires in the birdie putt, shaking his head as he walks away having finally picked up a shot from the course.

Rahm comes inches away from holing his chip, and matches the birdie to stay three ahead of his playing partner and now increase his lead ahead of the field to three.

Masters 2023: Phil Mickelson leaps into contention with back-to-back birdies

Clubhouse leader Phil Mickelson, speaking to Sky Sports:

"This is as much fun as I can possibly have playing golf. The final round of the Masters and to play the way I did and to finish it off with a couple of birdies - it's been a lot of fun.

"Regardless of the outcome this has been a really fun day for me. I'm really grateful to be here, play and compete and to be a part of this great championship and then to play like I did today was extra special."

Lowest score of a player over 50 - how does that feel?

"That's not what I was striving for but I do want to shoot low scores and play at a high level. I am fortunate that I'm physically not having any issues and I'm able to play and compete and swing the club the way I want to. I had a great off season and I want to take advantage of this unique opportunity and try to do some special things in the game."

What does it mean for the rival tours to come together?

"We are all appreciative to be a part of this and it's great for the championship to have all the best players in the world competing.

"It's a lot of fun for me as a past champion to continue to be a part of this championship."

  6. Missed greenpublished at 23:00 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -7, Rahm -10 (12)

Not the best results after a bit of a wait as both of them have hit it very much close enough to go for the green in two, but neither of them find the short stuff.

Rahm finds the little bowl that's been popular just off the back, while Koepka again keeps finding these nasty spots - this time he's just outside the bunker on a steep downslope, with little or no room to get a stance.

  7. Late dash for Hovland?published at 23:00 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Hovland -6, Cantlay -5 (12)

Time running out for these two if they want to make a last-gasp dash up the leaderboard.

Patrick Cantlay likes to take his time over his putts and is not rushing on the 13th green.

Jon Rahm is ready and waiting on the fairway, looks like he's going for the green.

Surprised Cantlay can't feel the Spaniard's sharp glare burning into the side of his head.

Once he's finished and takes a par, Viktor Hovland sinks his birdie putt.

  8. Major winners close with parspublished at 23:00 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Scheffler -4 (70), Fitzpatrick -4 (70)

Our defending champion Scottie Scheffler is acknowledging the applause as he strolls up towards the 18th green.

He's had his moments this week, has been in contention, dropped right away and had a sniff again. He'll be on the putting green tomorrow morning though, trying to work out how he missed so many this week.

He chips his third up to about six feet and finally nails one to finish with a par.

Another major winner from 2022, US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, also finishes with a par and a 70.

Rahm and Koepka just waiting for Patrick Cantlay to finish up on the 13th green before taking their second shot.

    It may be a while...

  10. Great drivespublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -7, Rahm -10 (12)

A draw isn't Rahm's natural shot but he's dialled one up this week for the 13th, and he's unleashed hell on the golf ball on this one to thunder it down the fairway.

Mind you, Koepka's tee shot is not to be sneezed at as he lashes a straight one to the top of the hill. Those tee balls definitely bring eagles into the equation if they go for it.

  11. Another bogey for Brookspublished at 22:48 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -7, Rahm -10 (12)

Rahm's distance control on the greens is spectacular - he's rolled up most of his efforts from range into gimme territory, as he does again he when he almost makes it.

Koepka's made a bit of a pig's ear of this 12th hole though, knocking his par putt well past, but he cleans up nicely to drop just the one stroke to go three behind.

Phil Mickelson is now in solo second with Koepka in a tie for third.

  12. Postpublished at 22:44 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -10 (11)

Oh dear, it's a delicate chip needed off the back of the 12th but Koepka doesn't even get it onto the green as he tries to be a bit too cute but the ball digs its toes in and stays on the fringe.

Jack: You know what, I can see Phil Mickelson going on and winning this today! Sunday Back 9 of The Masters never ever disappoints

Aly: Anyone but Mickelson, please and thank you

Andrew: Phil Mickelson proving that knowledge and experience count for an awful lot around Augusta National. That, and an elite short-game.

  14. Postpublished at 22:43 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -10 (11)

Rahm takes no chances at the flag and sticks his tee shot on 12 right into the heart of the green over the bunker - just as Jack Nicklaus said you should do an every round on Golden Bell.

It's a slight pull from Koepka, so he goes just long and left.

  15. Bennett still having funpublished at 22:41 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Bennett -3 (13)

Sam Bennett thought he could become the first amateur to win a major in 90 years and while that isn't going to happen, he's still enjoying himself a lot on Augusta National.

The 23-year-old American, who is guaranteed to win the silver medal given to the leading amateur, remains in the red despite being one over in the final round.

A broad smile across his face and little skip from his feet after he picks the ball up out of the 13th hole.

The grin of a guy who has just converted a birdie putt.

  16. Par-parpublished at 22:36 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -10 (11)

Rahm's ball seemed destined for the bottom of the cup on the 11th but it just carried on breaking left and wandered off its course.

Koepka misses his putt to the left and finishes off for a par.

  17. Postpublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Hovland -5, Cantlay -5 (11)

This pair aren't major champions - yet - and they're not in the top 10 either.

Hovland and Cantlay were there at the start of the final round, but both are over par and seemingly out of contention.

  18. Postpublished at 22:32 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

The leaderboard is dripping with star quality.

Headed up by Jon Rahm, there are SEVEN major winners in the top 10.

Elliot: 2.5 hours to play 9 holes in a two-ball? Get a move on.

Andrew: Jon Rahm turning the screw at Augusta National, and with his short-game prowess, the rest of the field really can’t afford to let him get any further ahead.

  20. Postpublished at 22:31 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -8, Rahm -10 (10)

Both of the pairing find the dancefloor in regulation, which is always welcome on this tricky 11th hole. Koepka flirted with the pond a little but he's fine, and it was as good a swing as he's put on it for a while now.
