    Scheffler -2 , Fitzpatrick -2 (1)

Defending champ Scottie Scheffler and reigning US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick are under way.

Both pick up pars at the first. It would take something extraordinary for either to emerge victorious later this evening. Scheffler's second-round 75 pretty much did for his chances.

  3. Will LIV golfers be ready to party if Koepka wins?published at 18:45 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

Should Brooks Koepka manage to win later I suppose the big question is will all the LIV golfers be present and ready for a group celebration behind the 18th green at the Augusta National.

Prior to the Masters, LIV Golf commissioner Greg Norman said he had "goosebumps" thinking about one of his tour's players winning and that there'd be 17 LIV players ready to get the party started.

A fair few of them missed the cut and Kevin Na dropped out ill on day one. Has anyone stuck around for the weekend? We shall see.

Birdie-birdie-par start for Jordan Spieth, who had a shocker in the third round but knowing him could easily bounce back and go low this afternoon.

He's too far back to have a say, but he could be a fun watch while we wait for the leaders.

Welcome back for our coverage of the final round of the Masters.

American Brooks Koepka is in the box seat with a two-shot lead over Spain's Jon Rahm, while Norway's Viktor Hovland is a stroke further back.

Hope you've got snacks, beverages and whatever else you need at the ready because this should be a cracking finale to golf's first major championship of 2023.

Right we're just nipping off to grab a breather on this marathon Masters Sunday.

But we'll be back at 18:30 BST to get in the full swing of things in the final round and discover who is going to be crowned this year's champion.

Today would've been Seve Ballesteros' 66th birthday, and it's also the 40th anniversary of his second Masters victory - and Jon Rahm is hoping the great man can inspire him in the final round.

Rahm told Sky Sports: "I’m hoping! I'd like to think that he's up there watching and pulling for me, and if there’s anybody that has enough charisma to have any influence from up above it'd be someone like him.

"So with him in my corner, hopefully I get an extra bit of motivation and extra bit of help and get it done.

"It would obviously mean a lot. It would be a true honour to hopefully join my three Spaniards and add another major to the Spanish tally, but there's a lot to be done and hopefully I can get it done."

Leader Brooks Koepka, speaking to Sky Sports:

    Thoughts on that round?

"I guess it's ok. I'd like that putt on 17 back - just difficult with the conditions but overall it wasn't bad. I feel I'm pretty in control of my game. I felt pretty good."

Key thoughts heading in to the final round?

"Hopefully the sun comes out and even dries it up a little more - that would be nice. The greens - I saw 17 was getting a little dried out so hopefully a few of these greens can make it interesting."

And on the prospect of getting back in the winning circle?

"Just keep doing what I'm doing. I've played good and it got me this far. Just got to rest up now and get back to it in a little bit."

  16. Moving morningpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

Brooks Koepka leads after 54 holes for the second consecutive week.

But he has played 72 holes just once since the fourth round of last year's US Open in June.

The men on the move this morning in Augusta (well near the top of the leaderboard anyway) were Patrick Cantlay, who ended up signing for a 68 to get himself into contention on six under.

And then you've got Viktor Hovland who made 70 and now sits at eight under.

  17. Postpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

Sir Nick Faldo, who has won three times here of course reckons 12 under could be the magic number later? What do we reckon folks? Hit the thumbs up if you agree.

  18. 'All sorts of sub-plots at play'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Iain Carter
BBC golf correspondent at Augusta National

What a final round we have in prospect. All sorts of sub-plots at play, LIV's Brooks Keopka, Europe's Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay on the fringes.

It's been great stuff so far, and I think we've got more of the same.

  19. 'Most amazing finish in store, but tricky conditions'published at 16:51 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team

We've had the most horrendous weather for three days and yet what do we have in store? We have the most amazing finish and it's going to be in bright sunshine but conditions are going to be very tricky because the wind is whipping across the golf course.

  20. Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Koepka -11, Rahm -9, Bennett -4 (F)

Solid stuff from Brooks Koepka, who still shakes his head after dispatching his par putt.

Jon Rahm looks slightly happier as his drops. These two will be meeting again very shortly on the first.
