  1. Hull in a spot of botherpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Hull v Kang 3UP (9)

Charley Hull might be taking everything in her stride, but she's in a spot of bother against Danielle Kang.

The American has had three birdies onthe front nine, this last one, from three feet, enough to give her significant daylight at the turn.

Here's how it stands with every match having completed at least one hole. So little in it, the slight advantage with the US.

    1UP Maguire v Zhang (9)

Leona Maguire is on the drop par-three 10th...

...and that is a magnificent shot.

    WOW.

    Pin high.

    Two feet away.

Rose Zhang has to try to counter but can only hit it 20ft to the left of the pin. In a little hollow.

  4. Dryburgh cruisingpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    3UP Dryburgh v Knight (6)

    Two things.

    1) Dryburgh won the previous hole - so that's why she was so tentative with her putt [she had two for the win] and looked so happy. Some incorrect graphics on my screen fooled me.

    That's the good news.

    Here's the better news.

    2) Cheyenne Knight missed her par putt on the sixth and Dryburgh holed hers.

So the Scot is now three up.

If you’ve been watching any of the Solheim Cup on TV you may have spotted a small entourage following the players around the course. This group with inside-the-ropes passes usually contains TV crew, photographers, event and team officials and family and close friends of the players.

And in Charley Hull’s case that is her sisters Lisa and Nicole, who say the world number eight is relaxed and taking “everything in her stride after a busy but very good year".

The Englishwoman is currently trailing American Danielle Kang but is playing some pretty good stuff as she tries to get back to all square.

"She'll definitely be looking forward to a good night out in Marbella after this though," adds Lisa, whose younger sister Charley has already checked in on her mid-round to ensure her hotel accommodation is sorted for later this evening.

  6. Vu goes three uppublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Sagstrom v Vu 3UP (3)

Lilia Vu has won two majors this year but no Solheim Cup points....yet.

Madelene Sagstrom is on the wrong end of a fired-up Vu who has opened up birdie-birdie-birdie to win the first three holes.

    Talk about a flying start!

  7. Maguire holding onpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Maguire v Zhang (9)

Ireland's Leona Maguire reaches the turn with the slimmest of advantages after tickling in a short one on the ninth for a half.

That's two halved holes in succession for this pair as they head to the short downhill 10th.

  8. Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Dryburgh v Knight (6)

Gemma Dryburgh finds the green of the sixth but has a snaking 30ft putt. Judges it very well though, and has two feet for par.

Knight is in the back right bunker and that is a very difficult shot from there.

She splashes out but it runs and runs and runs.

Will have a long putt for par - and likely half, if Dryburgh holes hers.

  9. Khang goes two uppublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Grant v Khang 2UP (10)

That stunning tee shot is enough for Megan Khang to double her lead as Linn Grant misses the green, twice in fact as her chip from off the left flies right across the putting surface and she just picks her ball up and walks to the next tee.

  10. Kang moves clear against Hullpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Hull v Kang 2UP (8)

Charley Hull makes a bit of a mess of the eighth. She's 25 feet away in four and has this for an unlikely par. Her putt scuttles six feet past and she picks up Danielle Kang's marker.

The American edges a little further ahead.

  11. Half at the firstpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Ciganda v Korda (1)

Carlota Ciganda duffs her first chip but gets up and down for a par and Nelly Korda can't better than as she misses from six feet for birdie.

Korda's not had too much joy on the greens this week - she'll need to hole a few putts today to beat a fired-up Ciganda.

  12. Missed chance for Dryburghpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Dryburgh v Knight (5)

Bit tentative by the Scot. Her birdie putt comes up short and the hole is halved.

She bumps fists with her caddie nevertheless. Seems very content.

  13. Hall misses a short onepublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Hall v Lee A/S (6)

Oh dear, Georgia Hall has made a mess of another short putt, again cutting across it quite worryingly as she did on the fourth - that time it cost her the win, this time it cost her the hole as Andrea Lee gets it back to all square.

I can't see Hall getting many gimmes from Lee for the rest of the round after those two misses.

  14. 'In for a dramatic afternoon'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Iain Carter
BBC golf correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

There's real strength in Europe at the back. Stark has been playing well, also Sagstrom and Ciganda but for them to become relevant the guys in the front have to do their job.

Five (Hall), six (Dryburgh), seven (Boutier) and eight (Hedwall) for Europe. I think there are big question marks about, and that is the engine room.

That is where those players can inspire the tale. On the face of it, I was quite concerned about the ordering.

I think we are in for a dramatic afternoon.

  15. Match 10 is out therepublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Stark v Corpuz A/S (1)

It's funny how a singles day works out.

Maja Stark and Allisen Corpuz are out there and have finished their first hole but at this point there is absolutely no attention on them.

Whereas everyone is all over the likes of Stark's great mate Linn Grant, who is already on the back nine.

But fast forward four hours and there is every chance the eyes of the sporting world will be on this duo.

Anyway, the first was halved in fours, as they play in their own little bubble for a bit.

  16. Fans flock to ideal spotspublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Steve Sutcliffe
    BBC Sport at Finca Cortesin

People were milling around the first green about 90 minutes before the first tee shot was struck this morning to get an ideal vantage point.

Given the fairway in the first is also handily located for the fourth green the crowds have unsurprisingly swelled since then.

Paula, Ellen, Paula, and Noreen, who are among a huge contingent of Irish fans from Cork, have been here all week and reckon today has proved the toughest to grab a decent spot close to the action.

  17. Khang turns aheadpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Grant v Khang 1UP (9)

The top match reaches the turn with Megan Khang one ahead, but not for too much longer as she's fired a dart into the 10th green that's pretty much stone dead - it wasn't too far from going in.

  18. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Dryburgh v Knight (4)

Gemma Drybrugh fires an iron right at the pin on the fifth.

Twelve feet uphill for a birdie three for the Scot.

Rest assured, she is in the zone.

  20. Finally, a hole halvedpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Maguire v Zhang (8)

Leona Maguire is up on the par-five eighth fairway. No chance of reaching the green in two on this monster of an uphill hole so she just bunts her ball into position, hoping to leave a good number for a wedge in with her third shot.

And she makes a decent fist of that but can't hole the birdie putt from 20 feet.

We've seen nothing of Rose Zhang on this hole, apart from this four-footer, which she holes. And that means, shock, gasp, etc.... we've had a halved hole in this match!
