  2. Roars go up for Cigandapublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Ciganda v Korda

Nelly Korda has never lost a singles match, but has also never won the Solheim Cup - with USA losing the last two.

Today she's facing Carlota Ciganda who gets a huge roar on the first tee as she pumps a big drive onto and through the first green while Korda is safely in the fairway.

  3. Breeze gets up at Finca Cortesinpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

Worth noting that the breeze has picked up at Finca Cortesin.

You can hear flags rattling round their poles at times.

It's not quite a Scottish links out there, but it will definitely be a factor in all the players' long-game decisions - especially on the more elevated, exposed back nine holes.

    1UP Hall v Lee (5)

Georgia Hall just missed the chance to go two-up on the fourth and she's just short again on the fifth with a long birdie putt - still a couple of feet left to tidy that up but she sticks it in for the half.

  5. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Grant v Khang 1UP (8)

The wind just causing a few issues for Linn Grant on her approach, even from only 88 yards she sticks it just a touch long on the ninth.

It just about sticks on the edge of the green though, with Megan Khang, yes you guessed it, safely in the heart of the green.

  6. Dryburgh preserves leadpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Dryburgh v Knight (4)

Cheyenne Knight makes a birdie on the par-five fourth.

That leaves Gemma Dryburgh with a five-foot putt to match her.

    She makes it.

  7. Postpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Hull v Kang 1UP (7)

No dramas on the seventh. Honest!

Charley Hull sinks a 12-footer to tie the hole and she and Danielle Kang head to the eighth with just one hole separating them.

  9. More blue on the boardpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Nordqvist v Kupcho (6)

Anna Nordqvist putts up from 15ft to the hole side and that is Europe one up.

She had two putts for it, and used them.

    More blue on the board.

  10. Vu takes the firstpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Sagstrom v Vu 1UP (1)

We've seen this movie before....America win on the first hole thanks to Lilia Vu making an opening birdie while Madelene Sagstrom can only get a four.

The visitors have really played this first hole really well all week, with Europe often losing out in the opener.

Vu is technically a rookie in the Solheim Cup, but when your bio reads 'won two majors in 2023 and spent time at world number one' I'm not sure the normal rules of being a rookie apply do they?

    Nordqvist v Kupcho A/S (5)

Jennifer Kupcho struggling for a par on the short sixth. Has a 12ft putt for bogey.

Chance for Anna Nordqvist to edge ahead.

  12. Yin goes aheadpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Boutier v Yin 1UP (3)

    Angel YinImage source, Getty Images

Angel Yin completes the turnaround in this match, going from one down to one up in just a couple of holes thanks to landing a long bomb on the third to win the hole with a birdie.

Celine Boutier gave away her early advantage with a bogey on the second handing Yin an instant response to losing the first hole. Yin was lively yesterday and seems to be a real livewire on this USA team.

  13. Another hole, another winpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Maguire v Zhang (7)

Leona Maguire on the seventh green... birdie putt to win the hole... slides by about three feet. In fact, she's got two putts to win it because Rose Zhang missed the green with her second and failed with the par putt after a poor, by her standards, chip.

A bit sloppy from Maguire then to leave herself an awkward one back. But she's a tough cookie and she rattles the ball home. Still not a halved hole in this match!

  15. Too close to call?published at 11:53 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

Could this be any tighter? Europe up in two. US up in two. And the other four matches out on the course are all square.

Thumbs time - up for Europe win. Down for US...

  16. Hull mistake helps Kangpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Hull v Kang 1UP (6)

Danielle Kang gets a bit of a table tennis ball bounce up the sixth green, and finishes 15 feet from the back left flag. She takes two from there and looks furious with herself as she stalks off the green.

Charley Hull has a four-footer to keep the match level. That's a tentative prod though and it's the Englishwoman who departs for the lengthy schlep up to the seventh tee in the worst mood... although she's trying to keep a lid on her emotions.

  17. Match eight half the firstpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Hedwall v Ewing A/S (1)

Caroline Hedwall has a 10ft putt for the win against Ally Ewing on the first.

It catches the left edge but turns round the back of the hole rather than dropping in.

  18. Nordqvist missed chancepublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Nordqvist v Kupcho A/S (3)

Anna Nordqvist splashes out of the par-five fourth to within four feet in three.

It's a slippery downhill one for the win though and she can't cosy it in.

Stays all square with Jennifer Kupcho.

  19. Grant gets one backpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Grant v Khang 1UP (7)

Linn Grant wins one back for Europe in the top match with a birdie on the seventh - giving Megan Khang a taste of her own medicine with a nice putt rolled in from eight feet.

Maybe Grant's just starting to warm up now, although Khang did come out swinging with those three quick birdies so just a case of weathering that early storm.

  20. Dryburgh from downtown!published at 11:47 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    1UP Dryburgh v Knight (3)

    Gemma Dryburgh!

She sits out all of Saturday but announces herself in the Solheim Cup with a putt from what is yards not feet, it's that long!

Cheyenne Knight cannot match her and the Scot is one up.
