Cornish Pirates' Ben Grubb has been discharged from hospital after the injury that led to Saturday's game at Ealing being abandoned.

Grubb, 21, who is on dual registration from Premiership side Exeter Chiefs, was hurt 58 minutes into the game and taken to hospital by ambulance.

"Ben Grubb has been discharged from hospital following tests and scans coming back clear," the club said.

He will continue his rehabilitation in Cornwall this week.

Ealing were leading 12-0 in the Championship game at the time of Grubb's injury, but league rules state that if a game is called off after less than an hour it must be replayed, rather than the result standing.

With no ambulance available at the ground after Grubb departed for hospital the game had to be called off due to a lack of medical cover.

No new date for the game has yet been announced.
