Mae'n fis Awst 1967 a'r Beatles ydy'r band mwyaf poblogaidd yn y byd. Maen nhw'n teithio i Fangor ar gyfer seminar o fyfyrdod gyda mudiad ysbrydol Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Mae'r ymweliad yn gofiadwy, nid yn unig am yr holl gyffro sydd o amgylch y band, ond am mai yma wnaeth y pedwar glywed am farwolaeth sydyn eu rheolwr, Brian Epstein. Dyma'r hanes mewn lluniau...
It's August 1967 and The Beatles are the most popular band on the planet. The Fab Four travel to the small city of Bangor in north Wales for a meditation seminar with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and are mobbed upon arrival.
The visit marks a turning point in the group's career as they learn of the untimely death of their manager, Brian Epstein. Bangor is thrust into the world media spotlight as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison are left in mourning...
The Beatles, heb os, ydy un o'r bandiau mwyaf dylanwadol yn y byd. Mae albym 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' wedi cael ei ryddhau cwpl o fisoedd cyn yr ymweliad i Fangor. Mae'n cael ei gydnabod fel un o gasgliadau mwyaf arwyddocaol y band.
The Beatles release Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in May 1967, and in retrospect is seen by many as their creative peak. It goes on to become one of the best-selling albums of all time with more than 30 million copies sold worldwide.
Cerddorion o'r dosbarth cyntaf: Paul McCartney (chwith) a Mick Jagger (dde) yn eistedd gyferbyn â'i gilydd funudau cyn gadael Gorsaf Euston am Fangor ar 25 Awst - diwrnod ar ôl cael eu hudo gan Maharishi Mahesh Yogi mewn darlith yn Llundain.
First class: Having met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at a lecture in London earlier in the week, The Beatles and their famous friends travel by train to north Wales for a 10-day conference on transcendental meditation. A 25-year-old Paul McCartney (left) and Mick Jagger (right) of the Rolling Stones, who also makes the journey north, sit opposite each other on a train at Euston Station, waiting for departure to Bangor.
Ond dydi'r daith ddim yn cychwyn yn dda i John Lennon. Mae'n gweiddi ar ôl ei wraig Cynthia ac yn erfyn ar staff diogelwch yr orsaf i'w gadael trwodd. Ond mae hi'n methu'r trên ac mae'n ddigwyddiad sydd, mae hi'n cyfaddef wedyn yn ei dagrau, yn dangos y straen sydd ar eu perthynas.
Things don't get off to a great start for John Lennon, seen here at one of the train's windows. His wife Cynthia, who is carrying her husband's bags, has been held up by security causing her to miss the train up to Bangor. Although she eventually makes it to north Wales by car, the incident shows signs of cracks in their ill-fated marriage.
Roedd y Maharishi, gwrw o'r India ac arweinydd y Mudiad Adfywio Ysbrydol, yn annerch cynhadledd yng Ngholeg Normal Bangor. Mae'r Beatles yn aros yn neuaddau Dyfrdwy, sy'n dra wahanol i'w catrefi moethus dros y ffin.
Maharishi's first lecture was attended by over 300 people and afterwards The Beatles hold a press conference renouncing the use of drugs. Among those to accompany the group are Pattie Harrison, her sister Jenny Boyd, 'Magic' Alex Mardas, Mick Jagger and his girlfriend, Marianne Faithfull.
Ar eu noson gyntaf ym Mangor fe aeth y band, ynghyd â Mick Jagger a Marianne Faithfull, i fwyty Senior Chinese gan mai yno oedd yr unig le i gael bwyd mor hwyr gyda'r nos. Doedd yr aelodau ddim yn arfer cario arian ac felly doedd ganddyn nhw ddim modd o dalu am y bwyd. Ar ôl i'r bwyty fynnu eu bod yn talu, mae'n debyg fod George Harrison wedi defnyddio cyllell i agor sawdl ei sandal, ble'r oedd papur £20 yn llechu.
Although they came for a relaxing time, the band were often swarmed by journalists and locals alike, such was the unexpectancy of their arrival. John Lennon later explained the reasoning behind their decision to travel to Bangor: "[Cynthia] and I were thinking of going to Libya, until this came up. Libya or Bangor? Well, there was no choice, was there?"
Yn gwbl annisgwyl, mae'r newyddion yn torri fod rheolwr y band, Brian Epstein, wedi ei ganfod yn farw o gorddos. Mae'r Maharishi yn rhoi cyngor i'r aelodau ar sut i ddelio â'u colled, cyn i'r wasg ryngwladol heidio i fynedfa'r coleg i gael ymateb y band.
The Beatles' mentor and manager Brian Epstein is found dead in his Belgravia home, aged 32. He was due to join the seminar the following day. The world media congregate in Bangor in search of reaction as the group attempt to come to terms with their sudden loss.
O glywed am ei farwolaeth, mae Ringo Starr, George Harrison a John Lennon yn wynebu'r wasg i ateb ychydig o gwestiynau cyn dychwelyd i Lundain ar 28 Awst.
Upon hearing of Epstein's death, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and John Lennon face the world media outside the college entrance in Bangor to answer a few questions before cutting their scheduled 10-day visit short to return to London.
Yn syth ar ôl clywed am farwolaeth Epstein, mae Paul McCartney a'i gariad Jane Asher yn gadael am Lundain, ychydig ddyddiau ar ôl cyrraedd Bangor.
Paul McCartney and his fiancé Jane Asher leave Bangor immediately after hearing of Epstein's death.
Cafodd plac ei ddadorchuddio ar hen safle Neuadd Hugh Owen yn 2002 i nodi 35 mlynedd ers ymweliad y band. Fe chwaraeodd Fangor ran fawr yn un o gyfnodau mwyaf cofiadwy The Beatles.
In 2002, Bangor University unveiled a plaque to commemorate the 35th anniversary of The Beatles' visit in the Hugh Owen Hall, which is now part of Bangor Business School's Management Centre.
