This time of year is dull, some say. Not in Bristol.

From an internationally-famous comedy festival to live music, multiple matches that attracted tens of thousands of sports fans and the last night of the light festival, there's been something on every night.

Rugby internationals also turned up to inspire young players in Kingswood, and a new piece of aviation tech went on show.

Up in lights: There is rarely a night in Bristol without live music on somewhere. On Monday it was Caribou playing to a large crowd at Bristol Beacon.

The finale: On Sunday evening, the crowds once again came into Bristol city centre to enjoy the last night of the 2025 Bristol Light Festival.

Taking music to the masses: Bristol band Cut Capers, known for their lively shows performing swing funk, soul, hip-hop and ska, were out and about in the city centre on Saturday, playing at multiple spots before finishing with a gig at famous jazz pub The Old Duke. They'll be playing a larger homecoming gig at the O2 Academy on 11 April.

Derby day: More than 17,000 fans headed to Ashton Gate on Saturday to see Bristol take on - and beat - Bath in a local affair, the Bears triumphing 40-21.

Play on: Kingswood Rugby Club hosted a girls' festival of rugby earlier in the week, with four England players - Alex Matthews, Natasha Hunt, Holly Aitchinson and Hannah Botterman - dropping in to inspire the young players.

All smiles: Bristol Rovers fans went home happy after a late, late goal secured a draw against high-flying Stockport County at the Mem on Tuesday night. They followed it up with a 3-1 win against Burton Albion on Saturday to make it a four-point week at the Mem.

Smile for the camera: Young rugby fans squeeze in to get in a selfie with Bristol Bears' star Ilona Maher after her side beat Harlequins Women on Friday night.

Fire it up: A member of staff creates a mini fireball at The Coconut Tree restaurant on The Triangle. Even eating out comes with its own fireworks these days.

Incredible: No Photoshop here, these two Slapstick Festival volunteers - Jack Calloway and Rachel Fountain - performed a walkabout to promote the festival, appearing as black and white characters thanks to the efforts of students from Weston College's theatrical hair and make-up course.

Beating the odds: Married couple Maria Aguillon and Santiago Muriel found out they beat odds of 1 in 10,000 to both be awarded a competitive scholarship to study at the University of Bristol. Now in the city, they say they are "loving it" here.

Future flight: There is a new element to the collection at Aerospace Bristol, the AERALIS modular aircraft system, a new type of military training aircraft which can be assembled in different ways to suit different roles. The city's relationship with aviation innovation continues...
