Jersey Bulls manager Gary Freeman felt his side "let themselves down" in their 2-2 draw at Cobham.

Early goals from Miguel Carvalho and Fraser Barlow appeared to have put the islanders in control against a side at the wrong end of Combined Counties Premier Division South, external.

But the hosts struck twice before half-time to hold on for a point.

Bulls missed the chance to go above Knaphill into second place after they lost 2-1 at home to Abbey Rangers.

Freeman's side remain in third place, level on points after 18 games with Knaphill, who have played a game less, and three points off leaders Farnham Town, who have won all their 14 league games so far.

"We have these little runs where we put together six or seven good results but we seem to then have a moment, a bit like today; we've let ourselves down a bit," Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"We want to cut these out, that was the chat before the game, but we've let Cobham into it."

"We're nearly halfway now and the last two or three months have been very good," he added.

"We've picked up results, we're sitting pretty comfortably in the play-off spots, but there's still a long way to go so we've got to keep pushing those standards and make sure we stay where we are or push higher if we can."
