Truro City boss Paul Wotton praised his side's "professional" performance as they beat bottom side Dover Athletic 2-0 in National League South.

Andrew Neal gave the White Tigers the lead after an hour with a header at the back post.

Ed Palmer made the game safe five minutes later as he coolly finished after finding himself through on goal.

The win was Truro's sixth victory in their past seven matches and moves them up to 14th place in the table.

"It was a monstrous trip, not a great pitch, not many fans, and after the Torquay Boxing Day game when there were nearly 4,000 [in attendance] I was a bit fearful of it being after the Lord Mayor's show," Wotton told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"But we were very, very effective and very professional.

"We weren't at our best, but we defended great, scored two good goals and our goalie has only had to make one real save of any relevance."
