Surely Gakpo not heading into the empty net is the problem there not Nunez!

    Matty Cash (34 mins)

    Villa are in dreamland.

Morgan Rogers crosses into the box, there's a slight hint of offside against Ollie Watkins as the ball is cleared, and the Matty Cash, following up, volleys the ball in from a tight angle.

VAR checks it, but the goal stands.

  4. Postpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest

City do look in the mood now. Jack Grealish is shoved over by hairalike Jota Silva for a free-kick in shooting range.

  5. Postpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-3 Chelsea

One for you xG lovers. Chelsea's current xG of 3.39 is their most in a Premier League match this season (excl. pens).

We've still got 32 minutes to go.

  6. City will want one morepublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

Eight days ago at this very stadium, Manchester City established a three-goal lead against Feyenoord and in the final 20 minutes tossed it away.

Pep Guardiola showed obvious relief at Jeremy Doku's goal.

I think he will want his team to push on for another.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool

Sandro Tonali is in the book for holding on to Curtis Jones and Newcastle are rather holding on now. The momentum in this game has totally shifted.

How typical! United rubbish all season then on a new manager bounce when they play us. Good game but still think the Gooners will shade this.

  9. 'What a finish from Doku'published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Man City 3-0 Nottingham Forest

Typical forward play from Jeremy Doku. One versus one, cuts inside and isolates himself against the full back. He shifts it onto his right foot and curls it into the bottom corner. What a finish and what a performance from him all night.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-3 Chelsea

    Chelsea continue to dominate.

Cole Palmer's shot is parried by Joe Lumley and Noni Madueke blasts the rebound wide. I think a defender got a slight block on Madueke's shot which deflected it off target.

  11. goal

GOAL - Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forestpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Jeremy Doku (57 mins)

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola celebratesImage source, Reuters

SURELY Manchester City are going to get a win now.

Erling Haaland, in his own half, plays the ball out left to Jeremy Doku.

Doku runs and jinks inside before curling a beauty into the far corner from 18 yards out.

  12. 'Maguire does well'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United

    Izzy Christiansen
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

    An interesting attack from Arsenal.

It comes from Saliba who drifts from midfield too easily.

Harry Maguire does well to get a shoulder on it. It was not handball.

  13. 'Can't believe Nunez missed there'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I can't believe Darwin Nunez has missed there!

The ball into the back post by Mohamed Salah is phenomenal again. It is headed back and I think Nunez had the post in his mind there as he ran towards the goal.

If it hadn't been for injuries people would be talking about Curtis Jones the same way they do about Cole Palmer. He's got so much talent.

  15. Postpublished at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool

If it stays like this, which I don't think it will, Liverpool would be seven points clear of...Chelsea.

Not many people would have called that for a festive 1-2.

  16. 'Forest making it difficult for City to create'published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland and Man City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

City have been a bit more careful in the opening minutes of the second half, there has not been that free flowing play yet. Forest have been more organised and made it a bit more difficult for them to create.

  17. Curtains for O'Neil?published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Everton 3-0 Wolves

    Shamoon Hafez
BBC Sport football news reporter at Goodison Park

Game over and it might be curtains for Gary O'Neil's Wolves career too.

How can he recover from this?

Jon Evans: Yes Rogers. Hopefully a goal like that kick-starts things for him and for Villa. Just need a bit of confidence.

Great play by half-time sub Morato to stop Erling Haaland having a tap-in into an empty net from Jeremy Doku's ball.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORK - CHELSEApublished at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea will get a fourth, it feels inevitable at this stage. A loose ball following a corner falls to Tosin Adarabioyo in the Southampton box and the Chelsea defender cannons a shot off the post.
