  1. 'Tactical foul from Gundogan but Gibbs-White retaliated'published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland and Man City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Morgan Gibbs-White ball at his feet, strides out of the 18 yards box and Ilkay Gundogan shows his experience and brings him down. You hate to see it but he brings the stoppage in play his side needed. Definitely a tactical foul there.

Gibbs-White retaliated a bit there, showing some frustrations, so that is why he was also booked.

    Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool

Cody Gakpo is about four inches away from putting Liverpool ahead with a low, deflected strike from the edge of the area.

What a response from the leaders...oh and how has that stayed out?!

Gakpo heads a cross back across goal and Darwin Nunez, sliding in, can't quite get there.

Referee sparing Watkins’ blushes for taking an absolute air shot at that. Shocking decision.

    Craig Dawson own goal

Everton score again. A corner comes in from the right comes in and it is a packed penalty area. Dominic Calvert-Lewin jumps with Jose Sa, but the ball comes off the arm of the jumping Wolves defender Craig Dawson and goes into the net.

There was a VAR check for a potential foul on Sa, but the officials are happy and Everton have a third via a Dawson own goal.

  7. 'Salah's effect is stunning'published at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

That's the effect Mohamed Salah can have and that effect is stunning. It's a great finish from Curtis Jones, but that is a great ball from Salah.

The pass was millimetre perfect into Jones' run.

  8. Postpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool

An eighth assist in the Premier League for Mo Salah already. Some player.

    It's in, but only just!

Ollie Watkins smashes his penalty into the bottom right corner and Brentford keeper Mark Flekken gets a touch on it but can't keep it out.

  10. Postpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Forest defender Murillo has a crack from about 30 yards out and it's just high and wide of the top corner. Was worth a go for sure.

Again a set-piece routine ending with an attempt on goal.

It drops to Gabriel Martinelli and he lashes at it.

  12. Postpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Aston Villa 1-0 Brentford

Penalty confirmed. Ollie Watkins will take it.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Morgan Gibbs-White was booked too for retaliating against Ilkay Gundogan - hence the sore back.

  14. Postpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United

Gabriel Martinelli with a chance unmarked 10 yards out for Arsenal, but he's off balance and can only shoot wide. That came after another excellent corner from Bukayo Saka caused Andre Onana problems.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

City captain Ilkay Gundogan is down holding his back in pain and then gets up to see Michael Oliver is booking him.

He fouled Morgan Gibbs-White to stop a Forest counter - almost pulled his shirt off him.

  16. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 1-1 Liverpoolpublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Curtis Jones (50 mins)

Goodness me what a goal! Mo Salah does the damage on the right, putting in a low, hard cross with the outside of his boot and Curtis Jones, arriving at full speed, sort of hooks a shot into the roof of the net.

It was past Nick Pope before he could react and replays suggest it took a deflection too.

Liverpool have not been good tonight but that was outstanding play.

  17. PENALTY TO ASTON VILLApublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Aston Villa 1-0 Brentford

Ollie Watkins latches on to a ball over the top and is about to shoot in the box but is bundled over by Ethan Pinnock.

How much contact was there? It's given by the referee, but VAR are looking at it.

  18. Postpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea should be 4-1 up 30 seconds into the second half.

The Blues race down the right and a cross finds an unmarked Joao Felix in the middle but the Portuguese heads wide from a few yards out.

  19. Postpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Nice move from Forest but Nicolas Dominguez air-kicks a proper shooting opportunity and Chris Wood can't get a shot in behind him.

  20. Postpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 1-0 Liverpool

Jacob Murphy deserves a shout tonight, I was a bit surprised to see him in the Newcastle team for such a big night but he has been excellent. Always stretching the play, running off Alexander Isak.
