There's something positive about this City team today, I see their forward line sacrificing for the defence today on like other days where the defence was a walk in the park.

Liverpool flatter than a bottle of coke left open all day. Lucky to be only 1 down. Quansah looks incredibly uncomfortable at RB. I still back my team though!

    CK

Terrible half of football from Liverpool.

    Stevo, Cheltenham

Liverpool looking lazy. Need one of Slot's special 2nd halves if we're to have any chance as Newcastle are hammering us atm, should be more than 1-0

Get onboard the bus or you will get pushed off it.

Ruben Amorim has a clear identity, he is creating hunger and an appetite within the squad. Thomas Partey's head is in his hands.

He was right in front of goal - that should have been 1-0 Arsenal.

    Everton 2-0 Wolves

Ashley Young scored from a free-kick, James Tarkowski thought he had headed in a second but it was ruled out, before Orel Mangala, who caused that goal to be disallowed, blasted in to make it 2-0.

Wolves have been poor. Everton in control.

Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez catches a corner and tries to launch a counter-attack but gets too much fizz on his ball forward.

Liverpool made a good start to this game, but as the first half went on, Newcastle have got better and better.

And Alexander Isak has been the absolute star of the show. He's created some golden chances for his team-mates before hitting one into the top corner. It was a very, very special goal from a special player.

  8. 'De Bruyne has been at the heart of everything'published at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

HT: Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland and Man City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think City weill be happy that they are two goals up and they will certainly not get complacent. What they will have wanted is to be playing better football, which they have done and that man Kevin de Bruyne has been at the heart of everything.

I do wonder how Forest get back into this game. They have been creating chances but they need to have a little more possession.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-3 Chelsea

Boos at the break from a few Southampton fans.

The hosts have been really poor. Conceded three and down to ten men.

    Chelsea have been very good.

  10. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Aston Villa 0-0 Brentford

Great early pressure from Brentford's Kevin Schade although Villa's defenders get out with some neat, crisp passing.

  11. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    HT: Newcastle 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool have received three yellow cards in the first half of an away Premier League game for the first time since August 2016 vs Arsenal.

Jarell Quansah got one and he and Joe Gomez have not looked good at all in the back four.

  12. 'High-pressure from Arsenal'published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle have been very good.

    Liverpool have been off colour.

  14. DISALLOWED GOAL - Arsenalpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United

Arsenal have the ball in the net through Gabriel Martinelli but no need to celebrate as Kai Havertz was clearly offside when he knocked the ball back into Martinelli's path.

United keeper Andre Onana is a relieved man though as it was his poor clearance that led to the move.

  15. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Everton 2-0 Wolves

    Shamoon Hafez
BBC Sport football news reporter at Goodison Park

Someone go grab a brolly for Gary O'Neil. He's getting soaked on that touching and his Wolves side are sinking without trace following an awful first half showing.

  16. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

Wahey! You don't see this very often. Marc Cucurella is penalised for a foul throw.

The Spaniard was practically balancing on one leg like a flamingo when he took it.

Manchester City lead and Kevin de Bruyne is playing well. But they are conceding chances. Forest should have scored.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Brentford

Brentford start with some fire in their belly and win an early wide free-kick.

The set-piece though is too close to Emiliano Martinez in the Villa net.
