Chelsea are in red-hot form at the moment.

Noni Madueke picks the ball up out on the right, cuts inside, and with Ryan Manning backing off him, is able to curl one into the bottom far corner.

Joe Lumley had no chance. Too easy.

  2. Why Tarkowski goal was overturnedpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Everton 1-0 Wolves

    Shamoon Hafez
BBC Sport football news reporter at Goodison Park

The Premier League say: "James Tarkowski’s goal was initially awarded on-field. VAR checked that Orel Mangala was in an offside position and interfered with an opponent and recommended an on-field review. The referee overturned his original decision and the goal was disallowed."

Agree or disagree with the decision?

  3. 'Wood could have levelled'published at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland and Man City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sloppy from Man City in a really dangerous area. Chris Wood could have definitely levelled the score there and it just goes to show how vulnerable City can be even when they are playing at a high level.

  4. Postpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

A rare break forward for Southampton but Cameron Archer chooses to shoot when a pass would be the better option. Chelsea's Axel Disasi makes a simple block.

    Newcastle 0-0 Liverpool

Over the half hour mark and we await an opener. Liverpool are playing some neat, nice stuff now but they are yet to open it up.

  6. Postpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea's press is so quick. Unforgiving.

Southampton are constantly having to ship the ball back to keeper Joe Lumley who looks nervous every time he touches it.

  7. goal

GOAL - Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forestpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Kevin de Bruyne (31 mins)

Chris Wood is really made to pay for that miss.

Forest let Jeremy Doku cut inside from the left far too easily - almost like slot motion. He finds Kevin de Bruyne, who takes a touch, opens up his body and blasts a shot home from 15 yards.

Wolves have been clueless at the back all season. Gary O’Neil has had enough time to sort this shambles out. Time to go and hand the job to somebody with more experience.

  9. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Everton 1-0 Wolves

Jorgen Strand Larsen, who scored twice in the 4-2 loss at home to Bournemouth on Saturday, wriggles free and gets a shot away from a tight angle, but Jordan Pickford shows great reflexes to get his body in the way and keep it out.

  10. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Chris Wood has missed a HUGE chance for Forest. Kevin de Bruyne overhits a backpass to Ruben Dias and Wood charges towards goal one on one.

The keeper makes his move and Wood slots his shot... just wide.

If that had gone in... that would have been a devastasting blow to City's confidence.

  11. Postpublished at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Manchester City 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Forest corner and Jota Silva heads over under heavy pressure so not really a proper chance.

Liverpool losing every duel, can’t pass it, out of position (Robertson especially), playing at a snail’s pace. It’ll be interesting to see if they can change it at some point.

Kevin de Bruyne is just a level above isn't he? Everything is going through him. The passes he can see and execute are passes not many people can pull off in the Premier League. He is playing through balls, taking shots, making runs, he is doing everything and he has got everything.

  14. Postpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

Manchester United were going through their full routine on how they are going to defend corners.

Since the start of last season, Arsenal’s 20 goals from corners are the most by a team in the Premier League.

  17. Postpublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

Lovely link-up down the right between Mo Salah and Jarell Qaunsah, the stand-in right-back shows great pace to drive on and slip the ball back to Salah - whose touch lets him down at the crucial moment!

    That was a chance.

A poor Everton side is all over Wolves. The reality is it isn’t working and we are firmly in relegation zone. We are not too good to go down

  19. Southampton have arguably been the better teampublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

This is a truly bizarre match as Southampton have 11 players out and made a lot of enforced changes, while Chelsea have opted to make seven changes to give players in their sizeable squad minutes.

At the moment, Russell Martin's team have outplayed Chelsea but two calamitous errors from goalkeeper Joe Lumley have led to easy chances, which Axel Disasi and Christopher Nkunku have dispatched.

It must be said that Lumley has partially made up for his error after saving a Cole Palmer shot onto the post.

But this will go down as a day to forget for Southampton's number two, who is standing in for Aaron Ramsdale.

  20. 'It's a funny game'published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Newcastle 0-0 Liverpool

    Ian Dennis
BBC Radio 5 Live senior football reporter

It's a funny game, isn't it football. You can have an off day and not have a single shot on target against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Then you take on league leaders Liverpool and you are creating enough problems for Caoimhin Kelleher to make two saves and hit the post as well.
