Re. 20:31, was it a big bag of sweets? What kind of sweets? The nation needs to know. More interesting than the football...

@Ten_Hi on X: Appears we've entered the annual "City are boring" phase that precedes them not losing another match for the duration of the season.

  3. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Monacopublished at 34 mins

    Bukayo Saka

Arsenal strike first. Eighteen-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly does superbly to wriggle away from a challenge and then play a ball wide left to Gabriel Jesus and the Brazilian fizzes it low across the face of goal.

It's a lovely ball in, begging to be finished off and Bukayo Saka is there to do the rest from close range.

The Arsenal players all run over to Lewis-Skelly for his role in the goal. What a moment for the youngster.

There's a stoppage in play because of an injury as Teun Koopmeiners clatters Clement Turpin. Turpin is the referee.

    Actually he's OK quite quickly.

  5. 'He just cruises past Kyle Walker'published at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

The best things that have happened in this game so far have been from Yildiz.

He doesn't have to do anything special, he just cruises past Kyle Walker there.

It's such an unusual thing to see from Kyle Walker.

    Juventus 0-0 Manchester City

Juve winger Kenan Yildiz has been lively. He runs onto a ball over the top down the left and cuts into the box. His attempted pass to Dusan Vlahovic is blocked by the backside of the sliding Ruben Dias.

    Juventus 0-0 Manchester City

Manchester City haven't recorded a shot yet, with this their longest wait for their first attempt of a Champions League game since December 2020 (32nd minute v FC Porto).

  8. 'Big left hand from Majecki'published at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Arsenal 0-0 Monaco

    Ally McCoist

On the first Gabriel Jesus chance...

The keeper got himself back from a mistake - he shouldn't have gone backwards. Good save though, he does his job.

It wouldn't drop for Jesus, I think he wanted to hit it earlier. It came up to his chest so he took it on the chest and couldn't hit it properly.

On the second Gabriel Jesus chance...

That's great play all round. The touch from Jesus is beautiful to get himself the half yard. He comes across the defender and then it's a great save.

Jesus has to take it slightly wider and it's a big left hand from Majecki. Concern from Monaco, that's twice in two minutes Jesus has got in.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Arsenal 0-0 Monaco

Another one-on-one chance for Arsenal and once again it falls to Gabriel Jesus. It's from a Gabriel Martinelli through ball through the heart of the Monaco defence, Jesus does well to hold off a challenge from Thilo Kehrer, although the ex-West Ham man does manage to get a deflection on the shot.

Monaco number one Radoslaw Majecki gets a hand to the strike and then reacts quickly to stop Jesus tapping in the rebound.

A bit dull, these mid-table Champions League games.

    Juventus 0-0 Manchester City

The ball lands to Juve striker Dusan Vlahovic in the box but it runs away from him before he can get a shot in. He should have got a shot in quicker.

  14. 'The game has stretched a bit more than it had before'published at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Juventus 0-0 Manchester City

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

15 minutes not a great deal happening and then it just suddenly broke out there.

We've had seven or eight minutes, much more open, players have been getting into spaces.

De Bruyne has found little pockets, he has been looking for 15 minutes to see where those pockets of space are. Doku has been getting the ball a bit more.

The game has stretched a bit more than it had before.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Arsenal 0-0 Monaco

That could and maybe should be 1-0 to the Arsenal. Gabriel Jesus is through on goal after a long ball forwards and he gets the wrong side of Mohammed Salisu and then only has Radoslaw Majecki to beat.

The away keeper does superbly to save the resulting strike with his boot though to keep it goalless.

  16. Postpublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Juventus 0-0 Manchester City

I'd say a lull in the game but the whole game has been a bit of a lull. City are passing it well - the game is crying out for some shots though.

  17. Postpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Arsenal 0-0 Monaco

Another chance for Arsenal and it comes from good work from Bukayo Saka on the right wing and then a nice reverse pass from Myles Lewis-Skelly. The ball falls to Martin Odegaard but there are too many Monaco bodies in the way and all he can do is curl an effort wide.

Sometimes it feels like City just pass for the sake of it. They rarely look to go direct or in behind with Haaland. Pedestrian

Nice interplay between Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin de Bruyne. The German picks out Jeremy Doku with a cross but his attempted ball back into the danger zone is cleared.
