    Crystal Palace 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    Oh dear.

Chris Wood's cushioned assist falls nicely for Morgan Gibbs-White inside the Palace penalty area but the Forest's skipper's finish is awful.

This game has been sprinkled with poor finishing so far.

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Hill Dickinson stadium

It is very un-Moyes like the way that Everton are playing. They are getting the ball down, playing it through the middle, getting the ball out wide players and telling them to go and attack and dribbles, take a chance.

Brighton with the ball in the Everton half but their passing is too slow and the home side look comfortable defending.

As well as being the only Crystal Palace player to create a chance today (3), Will Hughes is their only player to maintain a 100% pass accuracy so far (13/13).

Is this Marc Guehi's final match in a Crystal Palace shirt?

The England defender has a chance to score from a corner but it's a tame header straight at Matz Sels.

The partnership between Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish could be the one to make Everton thrive this season.

    Sue Smith
Former Leeds and England forward on BBC Radio 5 Live at Selhurst Park

It has been a good battle between Jean-Philippe Mateta and the two Nottingham Forest centre-halves. It is a shot that you would expect Matz Sels to save.

That snapshot from Jean-Philippe Mateta was the first effort on target in today's game.

For all the fire and brimstone in the stands, this match is yet to spark into life on the field.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Nottingham Forest

First serious save of the match as Matz Sels keeps out Jean-Philippe Mateta's attempt from 20 yards.

The Palace forward gets a clean connection and it's swerving but Sels does well to get behind it.

Grealish oozes class...Players look up to him and step up a gear...Fantastic. He can become a Titan here... .

That Welbeck miss was a sign. He ALWAYS scores against us, and yet misses an absolute sitter. Times are changing. This is a new era. COME ON YOU BLUES!

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 24 August

Maxim De Cuyper isn't too pleased to pick up the first yellow card of the game for tugging Iliman Ndiaye back.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Nikola Milenkovic is forced into a clearance as Tyrick Mitchell tries to pick out a team-mate inside Forest's penalty area.

It prompts more roars from the home fans but this game needs a goal.

  17. Ndiaye Everton's talisman againpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 24 August

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Hil Dickinson Stadium

Iliman Ndiaye scored the last Premier League goal at Goodison Park and now he has the first at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

And it all came from Jack Grealish's cross - a very big moment because it actually came against the run of play.

A huge roar swept around this huge stadium when that went in. Grealish loved that as much as Ndiaye.

That goal hasn't put Brighton off as Matt O'Riley looks for a goal back but his shot lacks any sort of power or direction.

  19. 'Goal comes from the wingers'published at 14:27 British Summer Time 24 August

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Hill Dickinson stadium

We spoke about the importance of wingers at the start of the game and that is where the goal comes from. Grealish goes down the line, gets to the byline and just needed a half yard to ping it across. The winger at the far side does what he has to do, Ndiaye, gets in at the back post and smashes the ball in.

There's more entertainment off the pitch than on it right now.

Both sets of fans are giving it some at full volume.

Dean Henderson and opposite number Matz Sels have yet to make a save.
