We are not sure if Evangelos Marinakis is here today, but one man who definitely is, is the England manager Thomas Tuchel.

He names his squad for the September internationals soon. Perhaps he is keeping an eye on Adam Wharton and Morgan Gibbs-White, among others.

TBH I have far more sympathy for Glasner than Nuno. Palace's squad is getting eviscerated while Forest have actually added players. Nuno isn't stupid, he must have known that calling out the owner is a career limiting move.

Thomas Tuchel names his latest England squad on Friday.

The German is at Selhurst Park.

    Who is he watching?

Dean Henderson? Marc Guehi? Adam Wharton? Elliot Anderson? Callum Hudson-Odoi? Morgan Gibbs-White?

    All six?

Grealish is a man that wants to go and play for England again, and he has the skills to do that. He was closed down very quickly there by Wieffer.

Lovely ball from Jordan Pickford left to Jack Grealish. His touch is spot on but Mats Wieffer comes in hard.

Nuno should look at the bench and realise there's some talent there!.

You cannot see the roof of Selhurst Park from within the press box, so I couldn't be sure where that shot from Ibrahim Sangare ended up.

The cheers of the Palace fans let me know it was not where the Forest midfielder wanted it to finish.

Yankuba Minteh is causing problems down the Brighton right but he needs to watch the line. Second time he's been flagged offside now.

There's a real energy, determination and drive about Forest.

They are attacking in waves and skipper Morgan Gibbs-White is at the centre of most of their better moves.

    Phil McNulty

Iliman Ndiaye has already shown some lovely touched but one battle that could be key here is Brighton's Yankuba Minteh against James Garner. Garner has been pressed into service as an emergency left-back because of injuries and Brighton will surely be looking to exploit Minteh's searing pace in that area.

The Brighton fans in the corner to the left of the stadium will be pleased with how their side have weathered the storm so far as Yasin Ayari links well before firing straight at Jordan Pickford.

I'm not sure that shot from Ibrahim Sangare has come down yet!

Sangare is showing what he came here to do. He has been a real presence in that midfield area.

    What was that?

New ball required as Ibrahim Sangare attempts a shot from outside the penalty area - and clears the stand.

It is greeted by thousands of ironic roars from Palace's fans.

There is a comfort about Brighton. They have a very settled side at the moment and they are getting the ball into the wide areas into those dangerous wingers.

Yankuba Minteh skips past James Garner wide left and cuts a ball back into the box but no team-mate is there to latch on to it.

That was tidy play from the Seagulls.

You can see what Palace are trying to do.

Get the ball into Jean-Philippe Mateta, and soon as Mateta gets the ball players are making a run off him.

Brilliant from Ismaila Sarr. Mateta has got so much better with his hold up play. Sarr delivers it into a dangerous area, but nobody gambles.

Brighton are wearing a lovely purple number today. Only problem is that the white names and numbers on the back are barely visible!

Justin Devenny, who is starting in the Palace number 10 role vacated by Ebere Eze, has had a lively start.

The Northern Ireland international has already made himself a Holmesdale End hero this season by scoring the winning penalty in the Community Shield.

Lots of new rivalries have been formed during the summer, Newcastle vs Liverpool, Spurs vs Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest, Brentford vs Newcastle etc. There is a genuine dislike between these clubs because of the transfer window shenanigans

  20. CLOSE!published at 14:07 British Summer Time 24 August

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    Oh. My. Word.

    So close for Nottingham Forest!

Chris Wood, who has started this season on fire, fires just wide from close range after a lovely cross by Morgan Gibbs-White.

Forest's players have shut out the off-field noise and have started on the front foot.
