Fantastic news that Phil Foden has won the FWA award this season - well deserved. He has certainly been City's main attacking man this season. Playing in the more central role has really enabled his dribbling skills to be on full display. Producing an increased goals output plus assists for the front players. Maybe the baton is in the process of being passed from KDB to Phil.

  3. Klopp's 12:30 frustrationspublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 3 May

    Liverpool

One of the big talking points raised in this morning's news conferences came from soon to be departing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has vented his frustrations over how many Saturday 12:30pm kick-offs his side have had in recent times.

But is he right to feel aggrieved?

Compared to every other Premier League team in the last three seasons, Liverpool have played 17 early Saturday fixtures, two more than any other team.

This season, Liverpool have played six, which is one more than any other side and significantly more than Manchester City (3) and Arsenal (1), who, until recently, the Reds were in a title race with.

To date, the average number for how many early kick-offs each team have had is 2.4, with Liverpool's number being two-and-a-half times more than that average.

  4. Won't be any 'on the beach' - Wilderpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 3 May

Sheff Utd v Nottm Forest (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder on the club's attitude towards the final three games of the season: "We have got a massive obligation to our supporters to go out on a high and give them something for the summer to hang on to because they've had nothing to hang on to this season, very few moments.

"We have two massive, fabulous home games. We all understand the connection and the rivalry between ourselves and Forest recently and going back a long time. We all understand that. On and off the pitch as well I think this stuff.

"Then an away day at Everton. Three big games for us. My attitude and preparation will be there as it has been since we walked through he door. There won't be any 'on the beach' unless the players produce 'on the beach' performances."

    Sheffield United

It is worth noting at this point that, while basement club Sheffield United are already relegated and have little left to play for other than pride, there will be plenty of eyes on Saturday's match at home to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest.

Dropped points for 17th-placed Forest could well open the door for Burnley, who are second-bottom but just two points behind and play Newcastle on Saturday, also at 15:00 BST.

While third-bottom Luton have the chance to leapfrog Forest with a win in tonight's match at home to Everton.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder on team news: "[James] McAtee is back for us so it'll be good to have him as an option for us.

"We have to be careful. Players are wanting to get back. Rhian [Brewster] wants to get back, Rhys Norrington-Davies wants to get back, Tom Davies wants to get back out there but I think we have to be sensible with it because their focus right now should be a really strong pre-season, which is a real focus of mine as well."

    Tottenham Hotspur

A final word from Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on departing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "He has had a massive impact. I'll always be drawn to managers who are different, who play differently with a clear identity and a clear vision - Jurgen has that.

"It is not easy going into a big club like that with lots of success traditionally. To come in and transform the club the way he did, credit to him.

"I'm sure we'll see him back. He is one of top managers in the world. [Liverpool are] such a big club he was able to imprint his own style, vision and bring success."

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on dealing with the difficult times: "Every job I have taken has had tough bits, sometimes at the start, sometimes in the middle and sometimes at the end. Nothing surprises me and it's a necessary part of it.

"I think I have been very consistent in saying that we have got a long way to go."

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on his side's performance in Thursday night's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea: "We weren't great. I said after the game. We were nowhere near the levels of energy we usually show. Our pressing has been consistent all year and our football has fluctuated. [that was the case] in the first half especially last night. That is my responsibility."

    Tottenham Hotspur

That brings us neatly back to Tottenham...

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media following Thursday night's defeat at Chelsea, which damaged their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

He admitted they were still a long way off from challenging the top teams in the Premier League, but said that would not stop them from trying to gatecrash the title race next season.

    More to follow.

  16. Who will qualify for Europe?published at 11:04 British Summer Time 3 May

Just to clarify the European qualification places for the Premier League.

The top four will go into the Champions League with the fifth-placed team going into the Europa League.

If Manchester United win the FA Cup, they will go into the Europa League. If Manchester City win the FA Cup, the sixth-placed team in the Premier League will go into the Europa League.

The next team that has not qualified for Europe will be in the Europa Conference League play-offs - so that will be either sixth or seventh place.

So to pick up on what Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was saying, seventh place could be enough for the Magpies to qualify for the Europa Conference League, but that will only be confirmed after the FA Cup final.

    Does that make sense?

  17. 'European qualification 'going to the wire' - Howepublished at 10:55 British Summer Time 3 May

Burnley v Newcastle (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has also been talking about his side's chances of European qualification:

"We know we're going to have to win games to qualify for Europe and we know it's going to be tight. We're up against top quality teams and Chelsea are in a good vein of form too so I think it will go right to the wire."

  18. 'It is an achievement'published at 10:50 British Summer Time 3 May

Liverpool v Tottenham (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on securing Champions League qualification: "After last season we speak today three games before the end of the season about qualifying for the Champions League, which is an achievement.

"That's how the perspective can change during the season because for a while we looked like we can go all the way and stay in the [title] race for longer. That didn't work out but it's still probably third place in the league behind two teams who have done really well.

"I know mathematically there is still a chance."

  19. 'We have shown flashes of being back to our best'published at 10:46 British Summer Time 3 May

Burnley v Newcastle (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on the contrast between his side's good home form and poor away results: "For me I always tried to focus on the game and not where it is played. I urge my players to do the same. In the last few games we have shown flashes of being back to our very best. I want to see that for 90 minutes if we can."

On Burnley's form, having lost just one of their last eight games in the Premier League: "Burnley are an interesting team, in terms of how they play. Vincent Kompany has done a good job. He's been true to his principles, they play a really expansive, attacking brand of football. Something they have not deviated from and the manager deserves credit for that. In recent weeks they have been reaping the rewards of that.

On visiting his former club: "Of course, I know Turf Moor really well. It is a difficult place to go, but we will be ready for the game."

  20. 'The players are over-worked'published at 10:39 British Summer Time 3 May

Liverpool v Tottenham (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on having rest and fixture congestion: "The boys had a couple of days off which is super important and we could have proper training sessions again which we are pretty much not used to anymore. Usually we stumble from one into the next and then we play again.

"Training helps good coaches, good managers, good footballers massively, you can see that.

"In general I think it's a really interesting subject. Seeing that Aston Villa lost 4-2 last night for example would mean if they go out no English team will be in any kind of European final.

"I watch a lot of football. The Premier League is the best league in the world so it's not overrated, the players are over-worked."
