    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Everton have improved since the triple change as Youssef Chermiti has a shot blocked inside the area.

I love Reece James, I think he’s the best right-back in world football when fully fit, but with Maresca's style of play, I think Chelsea look so much stronger with Caicedo at right-back with Enzo and Lavia in the central position.

Another effort for Everton as a headed clearance falls perfectly for Idrissa Gueye, but his first-time shot is straight at Robert Sanchez.

Everton are slowly edging back into this game.

  5. Standing ovation for Romeo Laviapublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 26 April

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

It's remarkable how good midfielder Romeo Lavia has been considering he has not played a competitive match in over a month.

The Belgian has just come off to a standing ovation with Reece James coming on in his place.

There is a good argument that Chelsea look better with Lavia on the pitch but it is difficult to rely on a player that is injured so often.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Now it is Chelsea's turn to make a change as Romeo Lavia is replaced by Reece James, who is given a big ovation as he enters the field.

The limitations of this Everton team are well known. It makes the work of Sean Dyche and David Moyes even more remarkable. Regardless of the result today there are exciting times ahead I'm sure.

Nothing happening and then a turnover and Beto strikes it beautifully. It's a great strike but a good save from Robert Sanchez, gets down well. That will do him the world of good.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 64 mins

It is actually a triple sub for Everton as Ashley Young, Dwight McNeil and Youssef Chermiti come on for Jack Harrison, Nathan Patterson and Beto.

Everton very nearly level out of nothing!

Jack Harrison flicks the ball to Beto, who fires in a powerful low shot from just inside the box that is well saved by Robert Sanchez at full stretch.

The second half is following a similar pattern to the first. Chelsea dominating the ball without making too many clear chances.

  16. 'Branthwaite the reason Everton are still in this'published at 13:47 British Summer Time 26 April

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Joe Cole
Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

Jarrad Branthwaite has been brilliant today. He has been the right place at the right time. He is the reason that Everton are still in this game.

  17. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

A Chelsea corner is curled towards Nicolas Jackson at the far post but Jarrad Branthwaite does brilliantly to get a head on the ball and divert it away from the Chelsea striker - though the referee saw a Chelsea foul in there somewhere so it would not have counted anyway.

  20. Everton need to show a bit of qualitypublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 26 April

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Everton have simply not been in this match at all at Stamford Bridge - as the statistics show - with their only shot coming just before half-time.

Manager David Moyes has brought on Carlos Alcaraz for Ilman Ndiaye to try to deliver some quality in attack.

But so far Chelsea are all smiles, expressing themselves freely and look far more likely to extend this lead than let one in.
