Enzo Maresca has moved star midfielder Moises Caicedo to right-back to bring Romeo Lavia back for the first time in over a month.

Lavia has had an injury hit season but returns at the expense of captain Reece James.

It's a bit of a surprise that James hasn't started such a crucial match as Chelsea hold ambitions to qualify for the Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

In attack, star forward Cole Palmer is out to end his 16-game goal drought, while striker Nicolas Jackson is also without a goal in 13 matches.

James Tarkowski isn't starting a Premier League game for the first time since joining Everton ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The Englishman had started 111 consecutive games in the competition before today (109 for Everton, two for Burnley) in a run stretching back to May 2022, bringing an end to the third longest run of consecutive starts for an outfield player in Premier League history after Wayne Bridge (113 between 2000-2003) and Frank Lampard (112 between 2002-2005).

Subs: Jorgensen (GK), Tosin, Badiashile, Nkunku, Sancho, Dewsbury-Hall, James, George, Acheampong

    Everton XI

Everton manager David Moyes makes a couple of enforced changes.

James Tarkowski's run of 111 consecutive Premier League appearances is over becauseof his hamstring injury with Nathan Patterson replacing him.

    Chelsea v Everton (12:30 BST)

Our first text commentary of the day is from Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea face Everton looking for a win that will lift them into the top five.

The Toffees' main ambition has already been achieved. Their Premier League safety was confirmed without kicking a ball after Ipswich lost to Arsenal last Sunday. Though David Moyes is not the sort of manager who allows a season to fizzle out.
