Vitalii Mykolenko and Robert Sanchez are both fine to continue and even give each other a little hug.

    Lovely to see.

It is not a foul, it's a collision, a coming together.

Vitalii Mykolenko is really brave running in there. As a winger running in with a goalkeeper charging out is like running into a brick wall.

Let's hope him and Sanchez are both ok.

    Ouch.

Vitalii Mykolenko and Robert Sanchez have just smashed into each other at full speed as they chased a ball over the top.

Cole Palmer lobs the ball into the box towards Noni Madueke, who gets in a header but cannot get enough power and it is easy for Jordan Pickford to claim.

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

Everton haven't done badly. Defensively they have looked solid and it's taken a shot from outside of the box to beat them.

They need to get on the ball a bit more, bring their wingers into play.

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

There is still a sedate pace to this game, but every so often Chelsea speed things up and look like they can fashion an opening.

Everton have barely threatened as an attacking force so far.

  7. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Everton cannot get hold of the ball at the moment as Enzo Fernandez has a shot from the edge of the box that Jarrad Brathwaite blocks with his face.

That must have hurt, though he doesn't show it.

  8. 13 is a lucky number for Jacksonpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time

Nicolas Jackson ends his 13-game goal drought with that impressive finish to open the scoring against Everton.

The Senegal international has taken a bit of time to get back up to speed following a hamstring injury but is also streaky and suffered his setback while already on a barren run.

But what's good about streaky players is that when they score they usually follow it up and this bodes well for Chelsea as they look to finish in the top five and qualify for the Champions League.

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Absolutely brilliant from Nicolas Jackson.

It's a straightforward ball into him and he turns and strikes it low, into the bottom corner.

He took it early too which says he's got no problem with his confidence. No messing about, laces, no chance for the goalkeeper.

    Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea take the lead out of nowhere.

Beto is dispossessed near the halfway line and Enzo Fernandez immediately feeds Nicolas Jackson, who rifles the ball into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

First attacking move of note for Everton as Beto neatly flicks the ball to Iliman Ndiaye. He feeds Nathan Patterson on the right and his cross towards Beto is headed clear at full stretch by Trevoh Chalobah.

  14. 'Chelsea have put themselves in this position'published at 12:53 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

    Joe Cole
Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

Chelsea have the toughest run in without doubt but they put themselves in this position because they did not beat the likes of Ipswich at home.

The players need to understand the urgency around today's game. They are a little bit off, the play is loose and there is a lack of quality.

Can only assume Bryan is not aware of what Chelsea spent and how we were top four in form from January under Poch. Anything less than top four would be a huge underachievement. Maresca is useless

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Both teams have given the ball away unnecessarily. Everton have not turned it over well and Chelsea have not made the most of it at times. It is scrappy at the moment.

Vitalii Mykolenko is fine to carry on.

We have just caught a glimpse of Enzo Maresca right at the back of the Main Stand. If he bought a ticket it would probably be classed as obstructed view.

This is the high tempo, aggressive style of football that supporters at Stamford Bridge want to see.

There is a pretty mainstream discontent about manager Enzo Maresca's football among the fan base - with some thinking it is boring or simply doesn't fit the identity of a Chelsea team.

However, this first 18 minutes or so has been good with chance creation, aggressive pressing and a dominant possession game.

It's just about whether Chelsea's players can capitalise on this spell by scoring or keep it going across the full 90 minutes as Everton hold firm.

There is a break in play because Vitalii Mykolenko has gone down. It looks like he will be fine tough as the physio has not been called on.
