The lack of goal scorers at Chelsea mean that they rarely put teams to bed when they are on top. It's only a matter of time before Everton are gifted an equaliser.

Everton treble up on Pedro Neto this time as the Chelsea winger wins another corner.

Neto's delivery isn't the best, but Noni Madueke manages to squeeze in a shot that Jordan Pickford saves for another corner.

Everton clear and try to launch a counter, but Beto is dispossessed by Nicolas Jackson, who did really well to track back.

Pedro Neto does really well to glide past Vitalii Mykolenko and force Jarrad Branthwaite to put the ball out for a corner.

It is taken short to Cole Palmer, but his cross is cleared.

Everton need a bit of spark don't they? To get back into this they are going to have to get some of the ball and work into it.

The gulf in the Everton and Chelsea squads is there for all to see today. Huge amounts of spending vs a team built on loanees. Hopefully the Friedkin group can give Moyes just a fraction of the money that Chelsea have spent.

Chelsea have controlled the game and the tempo has been pretty good, and they limited Everton to very few chances.

Everton's front three has not held the ball up enough and that had led to them turning the ball over too easily.

However it is still only 1-0 so Everton are still in it.

Kyle: Very scrappy first half. Chelsea are lucky to be in front. I don't think either side have done enough to be ahead at half-time. Everton have to improve a lot going forward if they are to get back into this game.

Chelsea have gone on to win just one of their last five Premier League games when they have led at the break (D2 L2).

Meanwhile, Everton are winless in their last 61 Premier League away games when trailing at half-time (D10 L51) since a 3-2 win at West Brom in September 2015.

It was a beautiful finish from Nicolas Jackson, particularly from a man that had not scored in some time. There were a few warning signs before the goal but he took it well.

Abdoulaye Doucoure should do better and that's the only opportunity that Everton have had. Chelsea controlled the bulk of that half with possession.

I think David Moyes needs to pin a photo of the Chelsea penalty area on their dressing room wall at half-time, if only for nostalgic reasons.

Everton got the overload on the left hand side and it is a lovely ball. Abdoulaye Doucoure is usually better at those, he just doesn't get the contact on it.

Vitalii Mykolenko chips the ball into the box to the unmarked Abdoulaye Doucoure, but he can only glance his header wide when well placed.

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has looked shaky despite an overall good display from his team.

He charged out and claimed a loose ball but clattered painfully into Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko.

Surprisingly, referee Chris Kavanagh has given Chelsea the free-kick but it was probably more the Spain international charging into the Ukrainian full-back.

Luckily, they are both alright but file that one under goalkeepers are a protected species, with Sanchez looking very erratic today.
