No goals at Fratton Park but that hasn't stopped a bit of a flair up after a late, late challenge by Pompey's Freddie Potts, who totally wipes out Callum Doyle in the middle of the park after the referee had blown his whistle.

The Canaries players and bench are incensed but Potts escapes with a yellow and the referee manages to calm it all down.

Early pressure from the home side is rewarded with that Willy Gnonto goal.

Not one for the highlights reel with inadvertent touches from both Boro centre-halves and goalkeeper Seny Dieng, but Leeds won't care.

Gnonto is back in the team and back with a big goal.

Only a sub on Saturday, what Championship riches to be able to recall an Italy international.

    Luton 1-1 Stoke

Luton to be a real threat from set pieces and again they cause problems for the visitors from a corner, with the Potters just getting the ball away after a goalmouth scramble.

  5. CLOSEpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

    Portsmouth 0-0 Norwich

The home side looking the more threatening at Fratton Park and Josh Murphy has been a thorn in his old club's side so far.

He's curled a brilliant effort just wide after cutting in from the left and wrapping his right peg around the ball to send it just the wrong side of the right post.

    That was close.

  6. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

    Plymouth 0-0 Swansea

  8. 'Leeds are good for this'published at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

    Leeds 1-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Redfearn
Former Leeds manager on BBC Radio Leeds

It's the ball from Dan James - because they are all facing away from goal it causes them problems.

Fair play to Willy Gnonto, he's there to put it in. What I've noticed about him his work rate has gone up. He works his socks off.

Leeds are good for this and I'm looking at Boro and they're not sure what they're doing - whether to jump or press.

  9. Postpublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

    Burnley 0-0 Derby

Burnley's Lucas Pires whips in a corner cross and Bashir Humphreys is first up for a touch.

It doesn't connect well though and the chance goes begging.

Back in the team and back in the goals!

It's by no means his finest but they all count.

Willy Gnonto finishes off at close range after a mess in the Boro defence.

The home side's early pressure pays off as they score the goal that (for now) takes them top of the table.

  11. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

Wednesday's Dominic Iorfa get his head onto a wicked cross from Marvin Johnson but his header doesn't prove as worrisome.

    It's been coming!

Luton have responded really well to going behind to the visitors and it's the captain Carlton Morris with the equaliser.

The Hatters win the corner and Jordan Clark sends in a great ball for Morris to nod beyond Viktor Johansson for his fifth goal of the season.

    Leeds 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

Leeds have had all the ball and they're pushing forward. They are finding all of the gaps.

Boro are sitting a little bit too deep. They need to try and get on the ball a little bit more and cause Leeds problems.

You can't give Leeds the ball because they'll punish you.

  15. Postpublished at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

    Portsmouth 0-0 Norwich

Norwich defender Jack Stacey tackles Portsmouth forward Josh MurphyImage source, Rex Features

Unfamiliar ground for Norwich today, it's their first league visit to Fratton Park in 13 years, but it's a familiar face causing them problems in the early stages.

Their former forward Josh Murphy has been central to the home side's threat so far.

Pompey were calling for a foul against their attacker by Jack Stacey on the edge of the area but the referee waved play on.

He then struck a free kick into the wall from a decent position before winning a corner with some quick footwork.

Paddy Lane then flashes a shot over the bar for the hosts, while Ashley Barnes has gone into the book for the Canaries.

A bright start from the home side.

  16. Postpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

It's a pretty even affair over at Hillsborough so far.

Wednesday will be looking at Josh Windass as someone who may be able to make the breakthrough.

The forward has scored a goal in each of his past three league games against Blackburn Rovers for the Owls.

Can he continue the trend tonight?

A Tuesday night a fortnight away from Christmas is not the ideal time for a football fixture.

But there is barely a seat to be had inside Elland Road, with a great contingent having whizzed down the A19 from Teesside.

Given the rubbish road system within a mile of this ground, that is fantastic from all concerned.

Let's hope we have a match that delivers some fantastic Championship fare.

  20. Postpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2024

    Luton 0-1 Stoke

Chance for the hosts as Elijah Adebayo gets through on goal but Stoke goalkeeper Viktor Johansson races off his line to smother the ball at the striker's feet.
