Portsmouth boss John Mousinho is tipping Norwich to be strong play-off contenders as his side prepare to host the Canaries in today’s lunchtime clash at Fratton Park.

Norwich, who finished 13th in the table last season, were beaten in their opening-day clash by Millwall at Carrow Road before responding with a 2-1 Carabao Cup victory away to Watford in midweek.

However, Mousinho expects Liam Manning’s side to feature in the higher echelons of the Championship table as the season progresses.

“It should be a very good clash,” the Pompey head coach told BBC Radio Solent. “They are definitely one of the early top-six favourites. I expect a really good team to come to Fratton Park.”

Mousinho’s men have begun the campaign in reverse fashion to Norwich – triumphing by a single goal at Oxford last weekend but then exiting the Carabao Cup at home to Reading three days later.

Striker Colby Bishop should certainly relish the prospect of lining up against the Canaries – he hammered a hat-trick when Pompey romped to a 5-3 victory in the teams’ most recent meeting towards the end of last season.

Wrexham's record signing Nathan Broadhead starts on the bench today.

There is one change from the side beaten at Southampton seven days ago as James McLean comes in for Liberato Cacace, who misses out this afternoon.

Striker Kieffer Moore has recovered from a foot injury picked up on the opening day and he starts.

There is one enforced change for West Brom with the departed Torbjorn Heggem replaced by summer signing George Campbell who makes his first league start for the club.

Plenty of history around north Wales today as Wrexham look for a first Championship win of the season.

This will be the Welsh side's first home game in English football's second tier for 43 years, a first league meeting between these two sides... oh, and Wrexham have their new club-record signing Nathan Broadhead to show off as well.

Spending £10million might not seem a lot in this era of football excess but bearing in mind it isn't that long ago Wrexham were probably down to their last tenner, these are heady times.

A dramatic 2-1 defeat by Southampton followed by an equally climactic Carabao Cup win over Hull City in midweek means there's never a dull moment at the Stok Racecourse Ground.

It's hardly run of the mill for West Brom either - Ryan Mason became their third permanent boss in the space of six months when appointed in June which will see a change in playing style.

The loss of defender Torbjorn Heggem to Bologna in midweek is a huge blow to their hopes while a 1-0 opening day win over Blackburn was followed by a penalty shoot-out exit to Derby in the EFL Cup.

There's plenty going on for these two clubs at the moment so we should be in for a cracker....shouldn't we?
